Man I love this game! Personally, though, I don’t really like the upstairs levels. They feel kinda rushed and cryptic. The last play through I did (which I completed a couple days ago), I got every star in the basement and main floor, which was enough to skip all the upstair’s stars. Dire Dire Docks as shown in this video, however, was a great level, and it’s fun to see you play it.

Actually, I didn't even know that channel existed until you mentioned it, so thank you for pointing me in that direction! I just thought my home movies were worth sharing. Wow, I'm surprised you've never seen The Lion King! It was (and still is) my favorite Disney movie. I watched it countless times at the theater and at home! That said, I don't really remember what I thought of this Disney World version. You can see in the video that I got scared when the lights went out and a bunch of noises were being made. I was easily scared back then. I also think I was expecting it to be different from the movie. Watching it now that I'm older was fun, definitely like a highlight reel of the best moments from the movie.

@@antonshomemovies yeah, your dad picked out just enough parts to help me understand the entirety of it, which was great on his part. I, too, remember being frightened of a lot of weird stuff. So wait… You played Smash Bros Melee in 2002, but you played Pokémon stadium in 2004… Did you still prefer to play on the N64? Or did you just balance it between all of your various consoles? Also, did you ever get Pokémon Snap? This month is it’s North American anniversary, so a video on that would be rad.

Well, I enjoyed all my consoles, and just played whatever I felt like playing at the time, whether it was old or new. I would often go back and play older games in different ways to keep myself busy until my parents could get me a new game. And I did get Pokemon Snap, and I do have some footage of me playing it! Didn't see this comment until now but I'll be sure to post a video on its anniversary! (July 26th)

This is really such a heartwarming moment, on how your dad was able to provide for you a copy of Pokemon red and pinball and also included a full gameboy color system. As I'm typing this comment right now i am 16 and a half years old and still enjoying Pokemon ultra sun on the 3DS XL that was once my brothers on his 2DS. I would still like to eventually get my hands on some copies of the older DS games like diamond, pearl, platinum, etc. Even to this day i still get a touchy-heart type of feel when ever I'm watching some of the popular Pokemon youtuber's giving away really awesome hits of to random kids that they never knew and in that moment the kid is just feeling very surprised that he got a type of special card like that. moments like that make me wanna cry. Even moments from this video that showed your younger self opening up something like this on your birthday or just as a surprise is still very emotionally uplifting for someone who can relate to something like this.

The last main series game I played was Sapphire -- quite a long time ago. I was very obsessed with Pokemon for about 5 years (you'll see on these videos) but I finally got burnt out and moved on to other games. Even now, I am always trying out new indie games because I quickly get bored of the same thing. My favorite is either Red or Yellow, I'm not sure. They remind me of the best days of my childhood, both at home and at school. I enjoyed Gen 2 and Gen 3 as well, but there really was a Poke-mania going on with Gen 1 in 1999/2000, and so when I think of playing Pokemon I go back to the Gen 1 games, not whatever is the most recent one.

Oh man , I remember when I got my first Pokémon game! Me and my parents went to the store and I showed them Red and Blue and told them I really wanted this game some day. My parents were contemplating whether it was OK for little kids and not too hard. They ended up having me choose which one I wanted (I chose Blue) and bought it for me. I was hyped up the whole rest of the shopping trip and I remember bugging my mom all the time to translate the English and helping me out that night. We ended up calling my dad's gamer cousin and she helped me get started.
