Olde Good Things

Добавлен 26 фев 2013
When it comes to building or decorating, the incorporation of architectural antiques and vintage furniture allows you to craft a personalized style that pays homage to the past while standing out in its own unique way. The right pieces can turn your home or business into a captivating conversation starter or a beautiful piece of art. Using lovely stained glass windows, a classic pedestal sink, a time warn garden statue, or elegant decorative columns can truly transform your space.
At Olde Good Things, our knowledgeable team of finders, fixers, and stewards really love these pieces, and want to see them go to the right home.
Olde Good Things is one of the largest architectural antique dealers in the country. We have two massive warehouses located in Scranton Pennsylvania where we restore and keep our inventory. We also have retail stores in New York City, and Los Angeles.

Astounding Beautiful Antique Ship Sink - From THE LAVIATHAN!
Check out this incredible piece of history! Excellently Preserved, and in working condition, this sink was made in the early 1920's and originally was on a German ship, which was later commandeered by the USA during WW1!

You should talk about how to make one just like this one
This would go well in my dream home that I have yet to be able to afford the property and materials to build!
Maybe it's time to think about building a home out of Adobe or cobb. If you can buy the land you've got the material to build the house. Windows will come later.
wow, it's gorgeous!
We agree! This piece is truly stunning.
Absolutely amazing
Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for checking it out!
Standing desk
Goodness using this as a standing desk would take up so much space! Your office must be HUUUUUGE
A whole tree went into making that
I suppose you could be correct, and depending on the size of the tree that was harvested, it could have been multiple. Oak is prized for it's resilience, being a hardwood, and for it's mold/rot resistance. If this piece is well cared for, it could last indefinitely. An oak tree lives for 100-300 years, some exceptionally rare species in England living up to 1000 years, but nothing lasts nor lives forever, and this tree was purpose used, as many have been. It now has the possibility to exist until the heat death of our universe. It's already been with us in this form since the 1800's and we will find it a loving home where it will last generations longer.
Fantastic find
We're so glad you enjoyed the find!
A beautiful piece…!
How much did it sell for. It's beautiful. Bravo from Canada
LOVE IT! 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
@@oldegoodthingsantiques my husband was a woodworker, as was his father.
@@johammond9359 That's awesome! Thanks for sharing. <3
That is beautiful! I always wonder what it was used for in its prior life!
Right?! "If these walls could talk" comes to mind. Wish we could get a complete history on every piece we obtain.
What's the price

Thank you😊
Nice
Thanks for checking it out!
Pretty 😍
I used to restore furniture for places like this in Essex England.
That is awesome! I wonder if we've obtained / seen any of your work!
@@oldegoodthingsantiques Quite possibly, we shipped container loads to the states. 1980-2000 that I know of.
@@pinballrobbie That's so cool! Hopefully one day you recognize a piece on the channel!
@@oldegoodthingsantiques I also used to make Home and pub bars out of broken Antiques that were not worth restoring. The company I worked for was the largest in Essex at the time . Most of these bars went to the States, esp. Boston.
Absolutely beautiful piece.
Thank you for checking it out! <3
normal same toolbench has cost 100$ i buy own similar 70$ and has good no need restore.
That's awesome! Sounds like that piece is in the right hands.
Only useful as a movie prop. Not realistic to need that unless it's dirt cheap.
One would think that every hand crafted piece such as this has a home/shop that it would be loved in. To each their own, yeah?
Terrible place to put a metal logo that stands proud of a flat surface
😍
When things were made properly and made to last, I,d love it.
Simply couldn't agree more!
I could never. It'd be screwed and ugly before I finished working on my first item. Though it's a beautiful piece for anyone who does artistic wood works
This can never be an original nameplate, because it would scratch the workpiece.
To the best of our knowledge (antiques don't come with CarFax reports) this nameplate was affixed during production. Not something we do here at OGT.
Absolutely beautiful
Thanks for checking it out! <3

@@oy-wb8jv lie, normal wooden work bench cost 70-150$ i buy similar my garage 70$
It was a top of line piece when it was new,I imagine it will probably bring a high price now .
So classy back then, now things have gotten so bad the u.s. military has quite literally been deployed on the subways
nice
Thanks for watching!

That's amazing how you and your fellow owners or employees have salvaged so much vintage and antique architectural pieces over all of these decades! ❤ It's amazing!
Thank you so much! This is exactly why we're in the game!
WOW
Copper is worth bank .... sell it for scrap
Although you're certainly right, we're in the game to preserve and steward pieces into the future. Not to melt them into scrap.
Man, what a beauty!
Isn't it?! Thanks for checking us out!
I want one so badly!
It is an amazingly preserved piece!
That is stunning! Oh i would love to own one!
Well, it is still available! ;)
@@oldegoodthingsantiques I know I can't afford it and have nowhere to put it, but I have to ask: what are you asking for it?
How do you get an address or contact information please. The antique hardware and the variety is amazing.
OGTstore.com! You can find a lot of our inventory on there. We have 2 warehouses in Scranton, Pennsylvania. 2 Stores in New York City, one on 52nd St, another on Broadway. We also have a store in LA if you're on the opposite coast!

I sincerely cannot imagine... it's a heavy boi when it's empty!
Where did you get this and where can I get one?
oh this is gorgeous
Long live TF!
Torrwood Farms is such a lovely place! Wish them nothing but continued success.
I loved going to the hardware store with My Grandad in the 60’s. I could smell the creative as soon as I walked thru the door , which had a bell 🔔. The nooks & crannies of metals widgets enthralled me. He told me what each part was for and started my tool collection. Dad taught me how to make a birdhouse on a skill saw when I was 6. I also made furniture for my Barbie.
You're making me nostalgic! Thanks for sharing! What a lovely story. :)
That's so beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
