The game has been dumb downed immensely. The game doesn’t value retaining a veteran player base - it’s more profitable to have constant revolving door of new players - and this is reflected directly in matchmaking. I peaked as a top 500 console player and I had to stop playing because the game does not value my skill or time with its matchmaking system.

Today i got randomly recommended some overwatch nostalgia videos such as deleted ow 1 abilities. I miss the game so much, ive been playing it from like 2016/2017 until 2022. I tried overwatch 2 and as a person who mainly played tanks such as winston, orisa and hog it felt terrible at the start of ow2. As hog i was targetted by everything, i was a punching bag and it was unpleasant to play because i couldnt acomplish any of my plans and ideas. It felt like im taped to a chair and they can do to me whatever they want while i sit and watch. Winston wasnt also as great, as a solo tank, his bubble wouldnt last long and the other ability was jump that if u used it you would leave your entire team uncovered plus enemy could all focus you and then easily destroy your team because no other tank would be there to cover them or maybe support your dive like in dive comps (dva + winston). Orisa felt quite decent but i missed the pull that i would call on the vc so hog can combo his hook or others can combo too. I think blizzard actually destroyed the game with another thing - supports. With mercy global rez, brigitte armor and healing being op and untouched for 2 years (again sad for winston players, you deal nothing almost to armor) to finally this dogshit kiriko. The cleanse, headshot hitboxes and dmg i mean wtf is this. You also get wallclimb bc fuck original shimada concept. Kiriko and state of tanks made me quit ow2. Also where tf is hanamura and horizon lunar colony. Horizon was supposed to be reworked and where is it? Also i hate forced woke shit they added like some gayweaver and venture or sth. But hey, at least Overwatch Porn never fell off.

This game would be good if people who played would just accept the fact that each hero has a counter and you actually have to use them or you will get nothing but losses.

i uninstalled for the last time a couple days ago... and for the first time since that game dropped in 2017 do not want to play it at all. i peaked 324 in world on xbox and switched to pc in 2021 and the game is DEAD to me

im also a veteran, i quit a little bit after overwatch 2's release, coming back now, playing overwatch 2 makes me want to play overwatch 1, its just a worse game, even small things like seeing that xp number down the bottom left of the screen with your rank, i miss that, growing it was an incentive to play, i just hop in casual for maybe 3 games then leave now, im purely playing out of the crave for overwatch gameplay, i miss having A REASON to play apart from casual gameplay.

Activision did the same to CoD. Literally the same playbook. I went through it with MW2 and CoDs after that. Quit after BOPS2. Activision made CoD easier for new players and made the game worse for everyone. They know you aren't going anywhere. So they don't worry about you. The first game I played in season 13, I was suspended until the end of the month. WTF!? And I know I was falsely reported cuz there ain't shit I've done to be suspended. It was probably some losers who were mad I stomped them in a qp match. Anyway, anyone have advice for what to do? The suspension reminded me to change the email on my account and that fucked me up because I cant see what I did anymore and I cant appeal the suspension💀💀

Funny, Sombra got the mythic treatment just like Kiriko & it's likely to be a theme from now on when a new mythic drops, because instead of just making changes then & there for gameplays sake, it's instead tied to pulling in more money. I'm glad I'm getting back into singleplayer games again & trying out other MP games.

The original cast are the foundation of Overwatch's gameplay, and reworking the foundation means you're fundamentally making a different game. Which would be cool if OW2 was actually a proper sequel, with OW1 existing separately. But it's not.
