I'm wondering how the Black Mesa incident would've played out if the HECU were assigned to ignore the Black Mesa staff instead of "Silence" them. I feel like if they were only fighting against the Zen aliens and didn't have to also fight against Gordon Freeman and Barney Calhoun they probably could've taken better control of the situation.

Honestly, I think the Crowbar Collective did an incredible job. The writing and acting is right on point here. This feels way more real than the original Half-Life, which felt a bit cartoony and over the top. I have no idea how actual military exchanges sound, but this is believable. It gives these people character, not just Evil Guy number five vibe.

I cant wait for the real REMAKE of OF and BS. It would be an epic sight for Shepherd and Calhoun in a modern graphics.

Eu acabei de jogar o Blue Shift original e ficava pensando no remake , não vejo a hora de ver Xen que está em desenvolvimento, o 6º capítulo que tem aquele lago de ácido que temos que empurrar os barris pra subir neles e claro matar mais soldados e os xenianos e o último capítulo que todos conseguem fugir e claro que quero que todos consigam fugir e vem os soldados e você atira neles e vai direto pro portal e o Calhoun fica se teletransportando para Xen e depois vê o melhor amigo dele Freeman sendo arrastado pelos soldados e depois volta pro Dr Rosenberg e eles vão embora , quero ver como vai ficar esses três capítulos fiinais

Besides a few assholes, the Marines weren’t bad. Like, the ones who liked killing the civies were awful. But think about it, how many civies were killed by the Marines? By the time they got there, most scientists and staff were already dead due to the aliens, so how many were even left for the Marines to kill? In all of the games, I can count on my fingers how many they killed. Most of what these Marines were fighting had to have been the aliens and Gordon.

HECU Isn't Bad Guy They are doing his job and Follow the ORDER but Sometime They Just Scare Someone or "Something" They Don't know What is it And They Try to secure The Black Mesa For Save a World And USA

It was almost weird to me how few military assets actually show up at Black Mesa, the military knew what was going on, you'd think they'd just roll in with every tank, jet and soldier that could could make it, surround the area, and nuke that facility into the stone age.

These combined with the emergency broadcasts really immersed me into the Black Mesa incident. Yeah some of the marines were assholes, but most of them were there to do a job and some just trying to save face and cope with what they know is a bad job (like the early guy saying he killed 12 reminds me alot of how some Vietnam vets tried to cope with what they have done by trying to push some sort of blame onto the victim.). Then we hear and see the HECU and the surrounding areas going to absolute hell. It really shows that this was the beginning of the end for humanity.
