THANK you!!! You saved a gifted apron with this video! You made life better for me Constance.
Comments like yours really make me happy! Thank you for taking the time to write. <3
How do I know how long to make the buttonhole? Do I program the length into the machine? I have a 220, but it’s new to me.
Hello AR, To determine the length of the hole you measure across your button and then add 1/4 inch to that length. I use a water soluble marker to then mark the button hole length. If you draw a line with two parallel stop lines (will look like a capital letter I) you’ll be able to stop at the proper place. I hope this helps!
Thanks for this tutorial! I have a Bernina 240 and it worked just the same. Do you know what difference it makes when you thread the thread through the hole in the Bobbin? Just curious. As I was grabbing my seam ripper to open up the button hole, you said "Don't use your seam ripper." 😂
Hello Nina, thanks for your message. As I understand, it slows down the bobbin thread (increases the lower tension) which allows the buttonhole stitches to be flatter and not get gnarly. Full disclosure, I have done buttonholes without putting the thread through the finger and it worked adequately. Thanks again for watching. Constance
Very clear instructions!
Thank you its been years that i have mine so i took it out off the closed this helpt so mutch
I am 930 bernina I don't know how to put the light in 1:39
Very cool thanks for the tutorial
Kill the horrible annoying music-noise!!! What the hell are they thinking at Bernia!?!
I have a question. When I sew, the upper thread always lifts up if I don’t hold onto it. It always goes up, out the needle and into the thread guide. What is happening?
I’m guessing that the take up lever isn’t all the way up when you begin sewing and/or your thread needs to be longer when you pull it through the needle back and to the left. Always check that both the needle and the take up lever are in the upper most position when you begin. I hope this helps!
I Got this machine a while ago because my Lovely bernina 910 mechanic stop working. I must say I dont like it very much. It pull the fabric uneven I Think. Or it is hard to control the fabric, so I sew uneven ofte. My Old one, did not do this. I hardly touch the fabric when I Saw strait stich. Anyone notice this to ?
Hi. Is there a ladder-herringbone stitch variation, where one creates little loops, and goes through them, making little knots along the way, as part of the stitch?
Thank you so much for this.
You are welcome ~thank you for watching 👍🙏
Why is this so fucking confusing
anyone else doing this for textiles class?
Extremely useful and easy to understand!! Thanks!!?! 🦄 🌿 🌿 🎶 🎶 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌹🌈🌈🌈
Thank you for watching and for the positive comment!
I had to learn this for my textiles homework, due to this I now know how to do it. Thanks a lot 😌
hi manraj :D
am haque
i agree, thanks, this was very helpful 😊
Wow nice
same with me its realy usefull
Well done 👍
Hi - Nice video. Thanks. How do u maintain the same distance
Hi - after practicing a lot it becomes natural. To practice the spacing, I make a dot every 1/2 inch and put my stitch in there. After I"ve mastered that, I'll put fewer dots. Eventually, I need no dots and the spacing is perfect!
dino nuggies
I have more subscribers...This was still good for class!
HAHA TRUE THO
stonks
Going a bit too fast don’t you think?
I did this for school
It was alright I guesss
Very clear, thank you. We had to watch this for class. ☺
Thank your teacher for me too!
bruh thanks but this is cool but this is hard bruh meme
My bobbin thread sometimes can't connect with the upper thread or when it connect it is so loose what do I do?
Sorry for the delayed response. I'd guess that you need to leave a longer thread coming out of the bobbin casing and be sure the thread clicks through the tension plate on the bobbin casing. See 1:16 in the video.
@@constancecase2376 thank you so much i will try that, stay blessed
better than my teacher is

Aadi Lol hi
Wow. Thank your textiles teacher for me. And thank you for commenting. I hope it helped you.
So even if I found one, a button hole (the long foot where button sits Inside) won't work?
I'm not sure. But you don't really need one. If you follow these directions and practice a little bit, you will be able to master the button hole. This machine really does make it accessible.
Thank you!! I needed this for homework, and it helped so much!
Annie Swans I needed it for revision lol
I'm so glad!

@@philip1816 Thank you for watching and for commenting.
hi
This is an excellent, clear tutorial, except for the instruction to put the thread through the "thread bar just above the needle" . This is not in the instructions for the machine. I asked a Bernina technician what the purpose of the wire is for - he said that it provides a slightly springy surface for the thread to move over rather than the hard case of the sewing machine.
Anita, you are correct! I have found with the beginning students that somehow it helps them make fewer mistakes, so I continue to teach them to do it. Thank you for your helpful comment and for watching!
Hello, this is so neat. ty vm ;)
