Cell phones work properly without roaming in Alaska, right? We’ll be on Encore late May.
Thank you for a great question. I would recommend checking with your service provider, it does appear to depend on who your carrier is. We had no issues with ours, ATT.

Yes, we did go to visit our son. Loved it so much we are discussing a return trip, we could only fit so much into a week long trip!
Oh we need to try the vip car on our next visit to Skagway!

Just did this two weeks ago, our tour had its own car for our group it was very comfortable but not as nice as yours. It is incredibly beautiful we just loved it, every turn was breathtaking. Make sure you go outside the back or front of the car even for just a few mins well worth it ! Skagway is a very nice walkable town one of our favourites on the cruise !
Having a car just for your own group sounds wonderful. This is one of the best vacation excursions we have done, unbelievable beauty. I don't think any video or photo can quite capture it. Thank you for your comment.

thank you for the feedback. It has been tricky getting the right balance as a newbie to this.
You were lucky it was clear in the morning. A lot of mornings are fogged in. We took the recommendation from a cruise blogger and did this: We booked a tour with Chilkoot Tours that took a small tour bus up the highway and into Canada near Fraser. We stopped at a waterfall and several scenic locations like one on a beautiful lake. The tour went all the way to Carcross Yukon, and on to Emerald Lake before returning to a trading post for a provided lunch. Then we got time in Carcross, before returning to Faser BC, and boarding a dedicated car for the return trip back to Skagway on the WP&YRR. Could not have asked for a better excursion.

This is a must do if you visit Skagway. We did it last September, and were fortunate enough to have a brilliant day, so Reflection lake right at the top actually did reflect. We saw bears and cub, other forest animals and plenty of birds. Definitely one of the highlights of our Alaskan trip., the other was the fiords.

@@creakykneesclub it was, we were fortunate to be on the correct side of the train too. They were down foraging on the banks of the low river in the stones, you had to be quick to notice them, because the noise of the train, made them run back into the bushes. We had to go click and store in our own visual memory banks because it happened all too quick to get it on camera. Trip of a lifetime, we enjoyed every minute. Greetings from 🇦🇺

My question is I have done the Haven three times on the Bliss and the thermal spa was never included. When did you guys I know it was posted seven months ago but when did you actually go on your cruise and what cabin did you have? What type of cabin in the Haven did you havebecause we did the penthouse and we did the forward penthouse to Alaska and they did not include the thermal spa
Thanks for watching, and for a great question. I have read that they are no longer including thermal spa access, which is a big bummer. That is why we chose the suite we had, which was classed as a Haven Spa Suite at the time (May 2023). Going forward we will pay for thermal spa access if on an Alaskan cruise, because there was enough down time to make use of it. I am uncertain if we would do the same on a different itinerary.

I just did this ride a couple of weeks ago, and it was the highlight of my Alaska cruise. The scenery was breathtaking. Not even the photos that I snapped can compare to the actual scenes. ❤❤❤

@@lauramccormack8004 It was $160. The Alaska excursions are expensive. Their tourists season is short, so they charge a lot to make up for the short season.

When did y'all actually go? Researching which months to book a trip in 2025 with various family members ranging from my mom at 85yo to my granddaughter at 3yo and everything in between!
Our trip was late May of 2023. We truly lucked out with the weather, it was shockingly good for the trip. We are talking about planning a multi family trip as well because we would love to take our grandkids.

Do we need to pack formal dinner outfits? I know most cruise ships would require this .
NCL does not require formal attire, and the Alaskan itineraries in particular are pretty informal. We packed a few nicer outfits, like we would wear to a nice dinner at home. Enjoy your cruise!

We have done 7 NCL cruises from 2015 with the most recent a transatlantic from Spain to NYC . The first six on Breakaway and Breakaway plus class with on as a Spa Suite the other 5 as Haven. Word of advice we did one Haven suit in the far front of the ship --- DONT ! All the Breakaway class elevators are mid ship and the walk from the very front Haven suite is a hike. The Prima class has the Haven done right. All Haven suites are to the rear of the ship together. The Haven guests on Prima have their own private elevators. The Haven on Primas bar and public sitting areas are so much nicer and bigger. The PRIMA sundeck is two floors including Sauna and hot tubs. The Prima infinity pool is outdoor only, so adjust for cooler temperature cruises. I say go Haven or stay home. Thanks for the video.
Prima looks interesting to us, so it is on our short list of future cruises. On this sailing on Encore, our Haven Spa Suite was located Aft, which we didn't mind at all. The walk to Haven proper, at the front of the ship, took us about five to eight minutes. The walk didn't bother us, it was nice to stretch our legs. On good weather days, we walked up to deck 16 and then across. If it was raining, we either cut through the hallways on 15 or went down to 6, then meandered across past the shops, restaurants and bars, then back up to reach the Haven.

Nicely done! What category room in the Haven were you in? I love the way you labeled the food! A better way to provide a menu might be a link in the drop down. As the showing of it in the video was difficult to read. When entering the terminal was there signs or a person sorting Haven guests to a certain area? I am considering going on the NCL VIVA in 2025. I like that birthday celebration cake!
Thank you! The category when we sailed was a Haven Spa Suite, H9 I believe. They have since changed this, and now it does not include Thermal Spa access. Entering the terminal, we just bypassed the long line of people boarding and went directly to the front and let them know we were Haven guests. We were then escorted in to the building to go through security, then directly up to the Haven terminal lounge to take care of boarding. Once done with check in process, escorted in a small group on to the ship., Thank you for the questions and the suggestion.
I will be on the Pearl in March and will be in a Penthouse Suite but for some reason they are saying it is not Haven! It has butler 12hrs and concierge and priority access, but for some reason that room is treated like step children not Haven
