I will be making Minecraft videos. there will be some videos on this side but mainly I will be making Minecraft videos please subscribe to me like all my videos. I will be looking at old windows versions too. That's what I mean by other videos on the side. I will link a website to a really great emulator website that will house a bunch of old windows and IBM and other stuff like that.

DOS can only use 1 MB of RAM because of the CPU running in real mode.. Except for a *_few_* programs that use "hi-mem". So its not slow because you "just" gave it 20MB RAM. QBASIC is the best. Sad it does not work

So what's the minimum RAM I should be using for my MS-DOS machines because I've been just stuffing 256 MB in it and please be nice no one is perfect including me
I like to use debug to create tiny executable com files. On debug prompt we can use ? to get a list of internal commands. Personaly i like to use batch files as an open source container to put all instruction for a routine inside and the internal commands to create a com file. But i use a special version of Debug that provide 16 bit and 32 bit instructions (download/unzip). It looks and works similar to the debug version of MS DOS. Most of these special container batch files have to start with one or more parameter attached to build and to modify the routine. Example to start with row color "text" attached: CENTER.BAT 8 1b "output center align" I made some videos(no speech) to show how it works and to share the batch files. Have fun.

@@mccraft2147 The file size of a com file is limited to 64 kb. We start with CS=DS=SS segment address. For tiny projects not a problem. If we need more memory we can request memory from DOS (4 kb at minimum) and we can load a file into the memory(up to 64 kb at once).

Good work. The next DOS command that i used was DEBUG, a very powerfull DOS command. With DEBUG we can find bugs inside an executable, learn to code x86 assembly and take a look into the memory and more. And there are internal DEBUG commands to unassemble a code in memory and a command to assemble x86 instrucrions for input new mashine code into the memory. I began without internet, but today we can download intel developer manuals to read the full description of the intel x86 CPU architecture. Personaly i like to use a special DEBUG version that provide for input/output to use 32 bit instructions. For my open source projects i put all instructions into batch file. I made some vides(no speech) to show how it works inside the DosBox emulator and to share the batch files. Have fun.😊
Have you tried virtualbox I'm going to start using that from now on because my computer is being a pain with MS-DOS using real hardware if there is a MS-DOS version that you would recommend that would be great I am familiar with dos 7.1 and dos 6.22 but if there's a MS-DOS version you would recommend then please feel free to comment thank you so much man
@@mccraft2147 My PC is broken and now i am on an Andoid tablet with a DosBox emulator app installed. DosBox emulates MS DOS 5 and a 80386/80387 CPU/FPU.
