The valve might not tighten further if it is already tight, but it should loose when you rotate counterclockwise. When rotating, make sure the tool is fully inserted in. You can use one hand to press the wrench down, and use the other hand to rotate it. Feel free to give it a try and good luck!

Hi there, at 3 psi the board will form its shape and you may consider it "fairly rigid". If your pump can register when you block the outlet and push down the handle, then you can continue to pump the board until the gauge registers. Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.
