Don't worry. When Trump comes back, you'll have a job.
I have a job now- and I can assure you that life will not be made easier with him in office
Not at all! Things are about to look like 1930s Germany. Trump is not good for any American unless you’re already well off
Good stuff 💪🏾👌🏽
Seems like the players in Seattle disagree
I wouldn’t mind seeing Tanisha Wright coach Dallas Wings. I think she’s a good coach that can elevate the team
CS deserved to be fired, she was over her head, terrible rotations from the start, thrown her players under the bus, no accountabilty. She wanted to run her system of slow ball and made sure CC didnt got the ball. She was the worst with making adjustments in game and call timeouts, this alone lost the fever at least 3-5 games. I think her strengths are much more usefull as an assisten coach than a head coach. She got bullied by Noelle Quinn for not putting in her starters fast enough. So she is and will not be respected by others and you cant have that as the fever head coach!
Hello, new to your channel… listened to to your WNBA stuff and enjoyed. I’d like to hear more black women talk about the W. So I listen to you and Quita. Enjoyed this episode. I kinda feel bad for Christie Sides. I don't think the franchise thought Clark and the team would be this good this quick. You now have a team with three All Stars, one of which is first team All W. They changed their entire front office because they're in win now mode. They're in a position to try to get at least one big time free agent, add depth and make a run while back to back rookie of the year players Clark and Boston are on very affordable rookie contracts. Her inexperience as a coach was apparent during games and could've been a hindrance in attracting free agents. I was very surprised that no players offered any messages of support for Sides on social media or anywhere else. Makes me question what the dynamic was inside the locker room.
I definitely agree, the Fever front office definitely didn't think this team would have developed to this point (with not that great of a bench) and Christie getting all the blame for that is kinda insane to me. I think Stephanie White was a really great pick up for them, I'm excited to see them next season
@typicaltori_ I don't look at it as a situation where Sides is being blamed for anything. I just don't think the front office feels like she's a good enough coach for the talent that they have. I think White and Miller are better coaches than she is. They decided to upgrade.
Sides is still being paid $500k/year till her contract ends. She'll be fine.
@@kelsawlink60 This happens a lot in other sports, where one coach is hired to steady the ship/build a foundation, while they higher a win now manager after 1-2 seasons.
@typicaltori_ HEY I just subscribed to your channel. Would love to you to come be apart of my panel. I have women on my panel we cover the WNBA
The former GM had mentioned that Clark said she wasn't interested in playing in Unrivaled because it's a 3v3 league. Caitlin's position may have changed if they've added an additional zero to her offer and/or other additional compensation. Either way I can understand the Fever not being thrilled about her playing there. She's THE draw for the Fever and the league.
23:34 Diamond Miller? Lynx brainrot 😭
I’m sorry I’m just a girl 😢
it’s ok I’m trolling
no need to fill ashamed for uploading late! give yourself grace
We missed you Tori!! your energy and humor are unmatched and thanks for the shoutout. #ratherbeaboringloserthananentertainingloser that’s one for the 📚!!! Keep up the incredible work 🔥🔥
Dewanna Bonner has been balling, I DO NOT want to see the sun in the finals but her, Mabrey and Alyssa have really been turning up on that court. Fiebich has a lot of potential, I see it most when her and Slooty are on the floor together. I didn't realize how many tools the Liberty had at their disposal until now. I'll be waiting on the next ep
You think mercury will rest players
Truthfully, they would lose nothing by resting DT, BG, Kahleah and Tash tonight and Thursday
Lat upload??
Yes 2 weeks late 😭
Rickea is my ROY. I know she isn't gonna win it, and i blame Curt Miller 😂
keep in mind you can repeat yourself on here and in the live. Just think of this as the condensed version cause most aren't watching a live for 3 hours a night.
You cooked with this and made a great point !!!
Congratulations on your new job Tori🎉
Thank you !!!! 😊
After getting absolutely WRECKED by the fever lynx game last night I think the final is gonna be lynx vs liberty im so sorry Aces but my faith in you has been broken.
As the weeks go by I 100% stand with you because the writing is on the wall and it’s going to be a great matchup
Congratulations 🎉
I always believe in napheesa collier and i love her game she dynamic , versatile player. She keep improving every year. She is like kevin durant in nba. She is 6'1" short playing the 4 position but she is dominant and effective.
What is your tiktok account? Are you the one who makes napheesa collier edits?
I think as long napheesa collier is healthy they have the shot to win the title she is the difference . Courtney williams is hype when napheesa collier is on the floor playing with her. But i know suns have something to say because stephanie white is a huge fan of collier she knows wha collier can do. And she will put AT or Two people two guard collier watch out for that when they meet in the playoffs but i love and wish the lynx will win it all hehe ❤
Agree to this one stephanie white had a respect for collier she told every presscon that collier is one of the best in wnba and mvp type caliber and she always put her best defender to collier i remember playoffs game last year she put 2 player on collier . She know what to do on how to defend collier . Thats the playoffs to watch suns vs lynx if they meet.
I think the fever consistently losing the lead in nearly every game is def due to them being a young team and they play a very fast game so they usually run out of steam v fast. But I just know that nobody gets under BG skin like ab. Like they always getting tangled up for some reason
Celeste Taylor rookie of the year 😂😂. I actually feel very strongly about who it should be but if it were Celeste instead I wouldn’t be mad. Someone sign Celeste for longer than a week!
I agree, I have at least 2 rookies I wish it was, but I know who has really elevated their team this year but the rookies that played this season haven't disappointed!
@@typicaltori_ one of the best all around rookie classes in a while. I think the college game is really elevating to the extent that we are going to see more and more rookies making an impact
same I'm so excited to really lock in for the college season coming up; I usually just peak at march madness and a game or 2 here and there
My thing is this is JT Seconds Olympics it really should of not been that big of a deal he will probably be on the Olympics team in 2028 In regards to women’s Olympic game I think it’s one of those double edge swords people complain about the games being boring because they’re not close games now they have a close game and they’re upset that they didn’t blow them out. I just think it is a lose-lose situation for anyone and nobody is taking it at face value like you said they won a gold medal on a bad day of playing.
I'm responding late but I agree with everything you said
I think the aces can 3 peat and like you said, I believe they will be stronger than the second half of the season because of the urgency
Great ep. New subscriber starting now🤓
So happy to have you here 😊
remove the ad pls!! u know ur not supposed to be selling this as ur own content so tread carefully.
I’m more driven to say the aces will 3-peat because they are the most ready atm. Like no team is as disciplined and experienced (maybe storm or sun) but these teams are inconsistent or have obvious flaws. Nonetheless, this season has been so unpredictable! After the Olympic break teams will be more competitive like Dallas and Sun.
love this and it also settled my own personal worries a bit! I feel like we still haven't seen them at their very best yet BUT when we do it's going to be dominance
Since Atlanta had 12th pick, should they have drafted Nika muhl? Do u think she could actually contribute to the team??
I'm of two opinions. The first is from the night I watched the draft; when it was the last pick of the first round, I was very confused about why they didn't choose her. They had Canada, but she was hurt. So in my mind, if I have Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray, I want a point guard who can come off the bench or start while we wait for Canada, who is a willing passer and good defender. At the same time, I don't know if I believe that even if they had drafted her, she would still be on the team because of the massive fumbles that have happened with this team. Another point: I love Haley Jones. She's a great defender and is unselfish. However, there are still times when I see hesitance from her offensively, and there are times when you can tell the team doesn't know where they need to be. I think Nika would've helped in those areas without giving anything up on the defensive end, and I think her play style of being offensive-minded at the right moments would solve the low-scoring issue when key players are injured or having off nights. This leads me to the next point: I don't know if I believe Coach Wright would know how to use her. In Seattle, I feel like she's in the perfect position within the next two seasons to become an even better version of the player she is. With Sue Bird around and in an environment that cultivated Bird's talents, I think she's going to be great once she gets playing time and is able to settle in.
@@typicaltori_ this is so real. ik ppl complain about nika getting minutes but she is on a super team. i can see her learning a lot from jewel, nneka and skylar and becoming almost a diJonai carrington type player. You know someone who wasnt drafted high but built their minutes over a couple a seasons and will eventually be a starter.
Hey Tori this pod is exactly what I needed before the ASG. Tremendous job as always you are informative and your sense of humor it’s much appreciated too. 🫡🫡
Always happy to have you listening and thank you!!!! I hope you enjoyed the ASG!
Thing I noticed end of the wings fever game is none of Caitlin’s teammates ran the floor with her at the end and the whole defense just collapsed on her as soon as she crossed half court
Mmm I wanted to keep Celeste but she got cooked by Caitlin. The other thing I noticed is dantas is probably the best screen setter on the team. Caitlin was getting wide open off them. Honestly the expendable one was Erica wheeler but she got a max contract for some reason.
The points you made are right on; it's kind of strange that regular watchers and fans of basketball can easily point out turning points in games or problem areas and it seems like some teams or coaches have no fix for it or aren't seeing the same problems
This is super embarrassing but there are 30+ mins missing from this episode, I'm posting a part 2 right now with the rest of the rest of it, my apologies
Also, Mercury didn’t lose because of Christie Sides coaching. Fever got lucky that her attempts at “coaching” didn’t hurt them as badly as it usually does. Mercury could not keep up with Fever’s fast pace, particularly in transition. Maybe Mercury coach could have made better decisions, but I don’t think it’s likely that Sides out coached him (or is even capable of it). Idk if Nate is a good coach or not. But as a Fever fan, I’d 100% trade Sides for him because I’m willing to bet he can’t be any worse.
This is a valid take, I'm wondering if you feel the same way after their most recent matchup from Friday?
So far, what I’ve seen of ESPN coverage of WNBA is generally annoying takes. While still an odd comparison, ESPN did seem to be leaning into the DT vs CC angle because that is how the WNBA has been promoting this matchup. WNBA is encouraging ESPN to compare the two players by marketing this game as “the goat vs the rook”. So not really surprised ESPN did a comparison, have to fill their time slot with something 🤷🏻♀️
Love this pod!
And this pod loves you :)
Keep your head up, you got this. Thanks for making content for us :)
I'm enjoying making it and talking to new people!!!! I shame keep my head up, hopefully good things are coming
I def think Dijonai should have been an all-star!!!!
I can't tell if you like Tasha cloud or dislike her? but I agree. Tasha cloud plays a true point guard, she really shouldn't be shooting much. when she starts shooting it means the mercury are COOKED
I do like her, I totally understand the confusion but I agree with you if she's shooting that much with so much talent around her in Kahleah Copper, BG, etc. they're cooked
The fever vs mercury game taught me that i need to shut my mouth i said the same thing you said i was like Phoenix got it but cc started cooking
I never want to speak on predictions again after all the upsets from earlier this week and even the Fever vs Lynx game today
Great commentary! Dijonai Carrington and Chennedy Carter were snubbed for All-Star. You have a beautiful smile btw.
I appreciate that, and I agree would've loved to either or both of them make it
I am a Jacy Sheldon fan until the day I die. That woman is so overlooked and she was in college too! She holds a few Ohio State records as well. I think it’s because she does her thing and she does it quietly. I feel if there was less hype/media coverage surrounding this specific rookie class, she’d get maybe a little more credit. I’m curious about your thoughts on this. Because she was a projected 5th draft pick and I can’t remember what she was actually drafted at, but it was high and well deserved. But she’s never in the conversations which is wild to me. But she just digs her heels in and makes her own way. I somewhat get the same feeling regarding Aaliyah Edwards. I think she gets a little more love than Jacy, but still not enough. Side note: you may or may not remember, but I’m the one who said “fine you shamed me into watching your podcast sooner even though I did intend to eventually 😂” or something like that (on TikTok) and I will say I’m glad I did. I’m really enjoying your insights and how you keep it to the game and you do address the nonsense when necessary. Also you’re funny and easy to listen to. As long as you want to keep this podcast going, I will be watching!
Sorry for the late response, I remember your comment !! and I'm honestly so grateful to everyone listening and thank you for supporting and interacting with the video. I'm so surprised that people are even watching and checking it out. I agree with what you said about Jacy and Aaliyah-- yes it would be really great for people to talk about them outside of in-game commentary but them adjusting to the league well and them cementing themselves as role players/potential starters on their teams has been so great to watch! I can't imagine a world where they don't just keep getting better from here. I love Angel & Caitlin and what they've done for the game but I do get a little sad that the other rookies aren't getting that same treatment BUT I know their time is coming.
@@typicaltori_ Hey I’m glad to be here and thanks for creating a podcast for us! I totally agree that their time will come. I think it’ll be a slow burn, which at the end of the day will likely be better for their mentals, because Angel and Caitlin are stronger than me. I don’t ever believe it’s healthy for anyone to be thrown into national attention out of nowhere, especially 22 year olds. I’d have folded and had a breakdown by now if I were in their position. Side note, I’m adding Rickea to the invisible rookie conversation! She is doing good things over there at the Sparks. As much as I hate Cameron being out and for so long and so early in her career, it has made more room for Rickea to get in there and showcase her talent as well as learn.
Bit of advice for you….. I am new to W and been looking for content. You need to do time stamps if you doing this long ass reviews. You are not watching enough sky games for me. I am looking for Sky to be covered and this is second video you did where you didn’t watch sky, but you spending 20 mins on CC. Will not sub due to lack of sky coverage
Sides is awful - she has no ability to make adjustments and the second that something starts to click (see Katie Lou assisting on CC 3 and running the floor for that long pass), Sides takes her out. KLS played all of 4 minutes in that game! Besides the hilariously subpar coaching, we don’t have the right personnel around CC and AB to function. Re. Your comments about Iowa Coach, I don’t think Bluder would take the job either way. The team needs overhauled in the offseason.
I definitely agree, especially after this past weeks games-- I can see the others playing a bit better, but I don't think certain players are the best fit for what needs to happen for this team to compete. I'm curious if you feel differently with them beating the Liberty last week and having some big wins this past week?
The answer is defense😭 sides is like an inexperienced AAU coach. She has an offense dominant team and can only think people need to shoot more? That is not the answer 😂😭she was satisfied with defense slightly getting better and I’m confused. More defense!
100% agree, Celeste Taylor being waived and a defensive player like Lexie Hull still not being in the starting lineup is so confusing. And it also doesn't help that some of the offensive players aren't always consistent.
first w.n.b.a. podcast i’ve seen 🔥🔥🔥
WELCOME!!!!!! 🥳🥳🥳
Mystics almost beat the suns in that game! It went into overtime. I’d love to hear your opinion, it seemed like mystics coach called a timeout twice in that game where maybe he didn’t need to interrupt their flow (and they didn’t get the basket after the timeouts), especially in the very last play of overtime. But I’m new to basketball so maybe that’s normal
I will watch and come back, I'm kinda excited to watch it now
@@typicaltori_ don’t feel obligated to! Even just the final quarter or overtime, since they were tied up until the very end there (after mystics lost their big lead from 1st quarter)
