Why does the left hand score not match what we are playing? all the scores that I have seen are played in the same way while the notes written in the left hand are higher than those in the right hand.
It looks like the left hand part is higher than the right hand part on the score, but there’s a symbol “8va” that appears above the right hand part; this symbol is an instruction to the performer to play the right hand part an octave higher than what is written on the sheet music. Hence, the right hand part is not actually lower than the left hand part

I hope it's ok to ask this question, but why did you choose the 'difficult' key of Ab? Most of the covers I've seen on YT seem to prefer the key of C. Very pleasant-on-the-ear performance though, I really enjoyed it. 👍
