A correction to this video, The were enslaved people. Not a prisons of war. The Africans that help captured and enslaved people were Hebrews. While I know the intention of this video was good, The complexities history of enslavement was very sad and is a crime of Humanity. We salutes you for this video.
you believe hebrews are africans?? blacks??
@@mfumuobweng4232pseudo theories are unfortunately ruining our minds and are another result of colonization. We can’t accept that we are descendants of Africans mixed with a splash of European and in RARE cases native Americans
I’m from Comombia, but I live in Colon for 2 years in my adolescence. I really love this city, it used to be fuller, I don’t know in what day or moment of the day you were there but like a person who used to be walk for those streets everyday, I can say that I found too much culture, good food and a lot of amazing people in those old streets and buildings. I hope to come back soon. Thanks for sharing. Pd: There are prettier external neighborhoods like San Judas, with such a beautiful houses and more beautiful people, but I really love the streets you showed us.
@@sebastian199718 thanks you! thanks for watching..it was in the morning,,and yes this city is full of history and rich culture,

Im British and not really up on the treatment of slaves in America but its only what I learnt at school and books i have read. The white man has a lot to answer to. Slavery should never have happened. The treatment of the native Americans should never of happened and its all down to the white man. Im white but im so ashamed of any ancestors that i may of had who where involved in these atrocities. Its deplorable how one can treat another human being.
@@dianewhitehouse7244 sure! alot has to be adressed.. but are we ever gonna get to that?with all these wars coming up??we all might die, before getting to know the truth,of what really happened😭
I see you champ!
thanks so much for being here🙏🏿 i really apreciate that👋
As a European, I cant even imagine why on earth so many white people have their wedding on plantations. Its like having your wedding in Aushwitz. Its....absolutely horrifying😭
When you say “locals” please be aware Panama has a middle class that lives in the high rises, as well as people of modest income like any country of the world, but not to the extremes you may be accustomed to where you come from.
thanks for the info..leave and learn..we are learning as we go to those places...but i think the difference is very huge...i just came from cinco de mayo barrios...it different dud!
@mfumuobweng4232 5 de Mayo is the area where the poor locals live and shop. Visit where the rich locals live and you'll think you're in Miami. It's a normal city with poor people, rich people, and everything in between.
yeah sounds ryt! one thing for sure, there is alot of money in this city.... where does rich locals live? you kno??
@mfumuobweng4232 locals live everywhere in the city. You won't find a Panamanian doctor living in 5 de mayo, but he, or she, is still a local. Same with a Panamanian engineer, or architect, or business owner, etc. Get the point? Interestingly enough, not all poor people in the city are locals, but foreigners from neighboring countries. They just blend in, so you just assume they are locals. By the same token, not all rich "gringos" are foreigners. Look at our mayor.
@@guillermogouldburn763 thats exactly what i said...not everybody can afford to live in those highrise building..and most of them are financial institutions..you and i knows how expensive it is,and how much money its in panama...we are saying the same thing, but with different perspective..watch my previous videos, you might understand that im not bashing panama...because so far, what iv seen its a lot of money and thr city is super clean,i even compared it to miami,or any other 1 world city...
Locals live everywhere in the city. There are poor locals, middle class locals, and rich locals.
yeah, you are perfectly right..thats what i wanted to say..you got ir right..but the gap is huge tho!
@mfumuobweng4232 yeah, but that's because, unlike other Latin countries, poverty is not equally spread out. There is actually a contrast between haves and have nots. Other countries are more equal, but in being equally poor.
@@mfumuobweng4232 you will notice no beggars on our streets or parks you can’t use because they are taken over by drug users or the like. Being poor in Panama is not the same as in neighboring countries, you will not find our countrymen tracking through other countries as others do running away from their country. If you don’t know how Panama functions, you should gather more information before making general statements, As suggested by the other respondent, visit Cinco de Mayo, Avenida Central and other areas, you will see what we are speaking of. Panama is not perfect and has her defects, but she is a hell of a lot better than most other places on any continent.
dude, you are right..but dont put words in my mouth.. what statment i made, thats not true?
@@hilariowilson5570iv been to all thoses places..im actually in colon, right now..and the truth is, the weath is not properly shared... the contrast is alarming
Well truth and lies about slavery. You know who the biggest slave trader was in the world yes if you said it was a black man in Africa you would be right. Did you know that the slaves love their masters. Yea even at this plantation you can see that the slaves outnumbered the Masters sometimes by 30 to 1:00 but there wasn't any uprisings or killings. Slaves didn't have access to freedom. Actually slaves in America were offered freedom to fight for the British during the American revolution during the civil war they were offered freedom to fight for the union many of them chose that's right chose to stay on the plantations and help their masters. Plantations were not a place of hate they were a place that people lived race their families and a lot of them love their masters. 😂
i think you shoul revisit your history..no uprising?they loved they masters?yeah right!
🤣🤣🤣 it was Caucasians yes we were sold by nialotes real Africans so called black people aren’t Africans were from the far east real Jews Israelites another dark nation sold us to you guys and you led the biggest slave trade along side the Arabs so don’t push this blacks sold blacks narrative Robert
Nat turner plenty more slaughtered the slave master so for you to lie and say there’s been no uprising you have a lot to learn about rape rob and murder of the blacks , Hispanics , and native people the real 12 tribes of Israel
its so sad n heartbreaking what these had to endure. beatings torture death starved. i dont y one race do to others due color the plantation owners to damn lazy. im so very angry n ashamed to be white. as far as im concerned all these plantations belong to the ancestors

Many historians today advocate for calling these places “labor camps” or “slave labor camps” or "forced labor camps" rather than “plantations,” in order to avoid hiding the truth of what really happened in these agricultural operations using forced labor. The story is not told about how the plantation owners became so wealthy and able to build these homes nor how the enslaved people were whipped, raped, and treated as livestock.
i think it because we are waitong for them,to tell us the history! how can peopl who enslaved is,tell us the truth about their act?? i humbly think that ot on us,to search and tell the truth to the younger generation

Jim Bowie was a real asshole. At thew Alamo his slave went to him saying he would remain by his side and die. But please give him Freedom. Bowie replied "You are my slave and will remain my slave forever, even in the hereafter." On the other hand Costa Rica never had slaves. So no one there descends from Costa Rican Slaves. Only Spanish that were ousted in 1812. Both Slavery and the Death Penalty were abolished when it became a country in 1821 after separating from the First Empire of Mexico which had also abolished slavery just months before.
oh okay.... but what kind of cruelty is that??why would you not give somebody his freedom, even aftwr promising you loyalty?
@@mfumuobweng4232 Just that Jim Bowie was one of the biggest assholes ever. Were I to have lived 200 years ago and inherited slaves. My number 1 goal would be to get them to Freedom with money to develop a business and live. Slavery is stupid. A Free Person will work harder than a slave especially when well rewarded.

You will meet people unlike in hotels. Typically about $15 a night with Free Breakfast.
