Equinox 800 Scores Relics, Buttons and Coins!
Great comparison will be going for the 800👍
I had a equinox 800 that I just return, in my eyes it’s to complicated to use had to dig lots of nails and pull tabs, am buying a at max since does have the tab setting and some also have aluminum. I had a bounty hunter that I like more then the equinox 800. That’s just for what I do
"I don't think I want an overpriced over hyped Garrett metal detector that grunts on silver!" Otherwise I'm all in on the AT Max! This video unintentionally exposes Garrett and sets their hokey metal detectors back into the toy class analog stone age. Right now the quest for silver coins has never been greater and I do not want a metal detector telling me a 90% silver coin is iron! Please tell me... Is the AT Gold gona grunt on gold! Garrett if your metal detector can't tell the difference between silver and Iron... how's it gona tell the difference between iron and gold!
I was on this hunt
It would be nice to have known what setting you had with both detectors. Example : why are you using iron audio on when sampling silver and copper?
I am somewhat confused by the many videos comparing the nox 800 at $1000.oo to a garrett at max at $600.00 , when people make most purchases they have a price point they are considering , most people would opt for the best one that fits in their price point . often the nox is above the price point one has to work in . The nox 800 is a great machine but $ 1000.00 is above the price point most have to spend , this is like comparing a $200.00 bounty hunter to the $600.00 AT max . NO COMPARISON !!!
So basically, on an at pro just turning discrimination off
Been detecting for over 20 years. If it grunts or beeps Dig it !
practice makes you better folks..if you're in good health dig more iffy signals with any machne you'll be surprised by what comes out
I can go on a hunt with 20 people..men ..women...17 out of 20..will have a Minelab..
Garrett hasn't upgraded really any of there M.D...MINELAB HAS BEEN IN THE LEAD...FOR MANY YEARS NOW
Today I fetched my Whites 4900D Pro Plus from the garage, cleaned 10 years of dust, and put fresh Duracell C's in it like always... and it didn't work for first time in 35+ years. Welp, it's time for a replacement so I dove in to researching the latest and greatest thinking all this new high tech stuff was gonna be light years ahead of my first 'tecter.... after watching this video (and the last 8 hours of scouring the web) I learned something that surprised me. That old 4900 is gonna be hard to beat (except for the lack of underwater capability). If anyone knows where I can get my Forty Niner rebuilt please let me know.
Wow, my Eurotek Pro does better than that. I do have the Mars Tiger coil on it though, does very well in iron, and in last two weeks"maybe 4 hrs detecting time" have dug 5 indians 8 to 10" depth in 78 reading mineralized soil. I'm in Northern Indiana, maybe you're soil really sucks. That Colonial copper as big as a hockey puck I'm guessing.
You didn't ground balance after you turned the Maxx off? I don't believe it saves the ground balance setting after she is turned off. I GB mine each time it's turned off. You have to or it's handicapped
I just went from the old school Garrett 200 to the AT Max and you have helped me with using the AT Max. From now on I will be digging all irons also, thanks for your video
Id like to know what the targets are reading on each machine if you do this again.......
I'm pretty sure you know that AT-Max has got to be ground balance every time you use it on different soil or just about every time you break it out to use it and try it against 800 equinox it'll find stuff that equinox can't even think about finding
The atmax has got to be ground balance every time it's used on different soil then you will see the difference between that and 800 equinox
I didn't see the 18 Max being ground balanced
Not showing us his Vdi numbers, looks like the flashes of screen shots are showing - single didgets????
É isso aí companheiro detectorista. Pois eu também tenho um canal no RUclips: Leon detectorismo. E seu vídeo me dá mais ânimo pra continuar essa aventura. Pois se for possível se escreva no meu canal: Leon detectorismo. Obrigado! Que DEUS abençoe sempre sua vida! Em nome do senhor Jesus Cristo.
I like to see them both all out in all metal mode ground balanced and see which detector finds the deepest targets with max sensitivity. I think if you dig all targets in very hunted areas depth is primarily. Patrick
At max is a beast with the right coil
Sveiki As turiu at max ir esu patenkintas. Net su senuoju Garrett Euro Ace esu daug ko rades ir gerai dirba, tai su at max nera ko lyginti euro eiso.

Are you guys Rowan’s? My mother was a Rowan
Damn, watching this and thinking going to have to go back over some fields. I have rejected signals on iron grunt and now thinking I may have missed stuff!
At Max all day. So much easier to use and versatile in thick, wooded areas.
When you have discrimination turned up to 30, can't you just press the iron audio button to here 0 - 30 without having to turn the iron discrimination all the way down and then back up to 30 again?
My AT Max has has never given a iron grunt on any coin . That machine acts totally different than mine. .
Same here. My max runs nothing like this Almost sound like it's not ground balanced at all.
Minelab tone is sweet, the Garrett's tone is annoying lol
Not fair the ML has a round coil and the Garrett has a DoubleD
They are both dd coils. One is round(ML,) and the other(Garrett) is elliptical.
My father is considering getting into metal detecting we are going to buy him one for Christmas this year 2021 after watching too many videos on which machine to buy I have decided to get the at pro Garrett. A beginner detected change my mind the at pro seems to be the more friendly beginner machine less things to worry about set in the coin mode and go then he can learn off that. That's the problem with videos like yours you assume people have knowledge of metal detectors most do not I looked at all metal detectors and it seems to me the Garrett at pro is the way to go I'm looking for a machine where you can learn what he's looking for the at pro seems to have the best advanced features with novice wisdom
Frist thing YOU need to do is shorten the damn intro
why does he moves the detectors so fast
You say the equinox 800 is better then the at max metal detector, you might gr right sir
What a waste
I dont suppose you have any Australian coins. I currently have a AT pro but after 6 years i need to reset every time i turn as it on. So i am trying to save t o upgrade. However i dont know if i should go with the AT MAX aas i am use to the AT PRO OR go the Nox 800. Any advice or if any of of you followers are in Australia and could help me. Since i am on a disability pension. ITS going to take a few months to save that type off money. But i can't afford to waste and buy t lhe wrong machine for Australian conditions and coins. Thanks for any help or advice. Regards Andy
That Garrett just sounds awful.
Good video! Very informative. Would the Garrett do better with an 11" DD coil like the Minelab has instead of an 8.5x11" DD?
very good video, however its pretty obvious you are a garret fanboy. you never adjusted the minelab 1 time. just my thoughts!
Where is that located at in oak island? Headed down in 2 weeks
i liked and subscribe, your selling point of us learning something sold me, Im writing thos at .40 into the video
Love to see your finds, I would like to see more of the ID’s and your personal settings for your 800. I watch for learning purposes also. Thanks!
You should have shown the settings you where using on both machines
The sound on the at max is enough to drive a person crazy!!! I much prefer the sound from minelab detectors.
The loss of depth when recovery speed is increased, and issues with masking are critical flaws in this platform IMO. I'd like to see a comparison test with the Nox800 and XPDeus in your garden.
Good video but one question- you made adjustments on the Garrett but didn’t on the 800. Sometimes on my 800 just switching to field mode confirms questionable hits.
Outstanding video. To the point 0 BS!
As a 1 year hunter, Im more confused than ever..Not because of your testing, but because I thought I was getting better at deciding what to dig and what to leave. I probably left some good stuff in the ground and Im going back to those areas and digging everything!!!! I actually got a lesson out of your comparison review.. Thank you!
I've been digging about 10 years now and there is always something to learn.
