For the sand trainer (this works if you have a salazzle, and a grass type that only baits fire fang like carnivine): Lead the grass type PREBURNT (or poisoned, doesn't matter), switch into salazzle on a fire fang and encore. After that, toxic it twice (lum berry) and then stall until the sandaconda dies, the rest of the fight is pretty easy. A good fighting type takes the probopass, it baits clefable D-Kiss most of the time which you can just encore with salazzle or just wall it with a good steel/poison type, and the stoutland can be killed by a strong fighting type that can outspeed it or by walling it. (those wondering about the pre status, its so it never goes glare on salazzle) You usually scale encore on salazzle anyway since its really useful throughout the game (really good against chelle)
Toge pivots also work on stout but its not a guaranteed get (for stoutland)

I'm no mathematician, but I'm pretty sure a 5-hit move with a King's Rock does not equal a 50% chance to flinch.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding how kings rock works then? Is each individual hit not 10%?
Each hit there is chance of 10% to flinch and 90% to not flinch So for it to never flinch We have to do 0.90 * 0.90 * 0.90* 0.90* 0.90 = 0.9^5 = 0.59049 So for it to flinch 1-0.59049 = 40.951% So 9% less approx

@@Squerk_each individual hit has a 10% chance to flinch, but that doesn’t add to 50% because there are rolls where more than one hit gets the flinch chance the actual way you calculate it is 100% minus the chance of getting the 90% chance not to flinch all five times 1-(.9*.9*.9*.9*.9) or 1-.5905, so a 40.95% chance to flinch
@@Squerk_ you don't add the probabilities, because that would mean that 10 hits makes you guaranteed to get a flinch, which isn't true - same with rolling a 6-sided die 6 times, you're not guaranteed to roll a 6. instead, you subtract the chance of the event not happening that number of times (in this case, 0.9^5, since the flinch chance is 10% and you have 5 attempts) from 1, to get the chance that at least one hit triggers a flinch.
in this case, 1 - 0.9^5 = 1 - 0.59 = 0.41 = 41% this has the fun side effect that there's a (very small, 1 in 100,000) possibility that all 5 hits trigger a flinch, but you wouldn't know because only one of them needs to.

This is why nuzlockes are cool. Even mons that might be easily stuck in the PU or ZU tiers can have starring roles in these runs. Really makes you like these creatures more imho
A lot of underwhelming Mons have revamped learnset. Signature moves are given to other Mons. Krabby line gets Ice Hammer as an example. This makes Krabby/Kingler very desirable early on and it becomes insane during the split 3 to 6.

It's amazing what it all accomplishes, and how great it is to bait certain moves.
That can be said for all Protect Mons in Run and Bun. It really is the resistance profile paired with Fake Out / 1/8 chip on contact that makes Togedemaru top tier. It just solves a lot of problem.

Which Run & Bun monotype should I do first? I'm leaning towards Steel, Electric, Psychic or Bug rn so i don't really know. (Not a nuzlocke because that would obviously be impossible)

Guys, don't make my mistake. In my current PB I lost my Togedemaru because I when calcing for the first fight, because I forgot to remove sun from the battlefield after battling Flannery. I thought I could tank two hits from Floatzel, when instead I was a 2HKO
Yeah miscalcing will do that. I always tell nuzlockers to double check everything and explore alternative lines.

Getting there ain't easy. Pult is also not needed. Togedemaru role compression is unmatched. Dragapult can't protect or fake out. Which is very valuable.
