Kiitos oikein paljon! Oli hyödyllinen ja mielenkiintoinen video
Kiitos sinulle! 👍

Спасибо вам. 🤝
Kiitos paljon videosta, minä olen venäläinen ja opiskelen suomea.
Спасибо вам. А я изучаю русский. Иногда это полезно на работе. Не легкий язык. 😅
This is really useful to usy dear keep it up, we love it?
Thank you for your kind words. I will. 😀
omg, your channel is an underrated gem. why it has less view count
😀 Happy to hear that. My most popular video has more than 8k views. So not completely ug I guess. 👍 What kind of videos would you like to see in the future?
@@FinnishLanguageNuggets please make 5 -6 minutes videos of you speaking pure Finnish. Podcast like more than 15 minutes is hard to consume. Also when you make subtitles make in a way that both Finnish and english can be seen at same time so that as a learner it is engaging. I believe your channel has a potential to grow a lot. 💕 are you doing any course's
The monotonousness of the use of only one voice, exponential the monotonous of the Finnish language pronunciation, where there is no different in intonation on sentences or phrases with question or exclamation marks. The exponential disruption of this creative project was killed with the use of just one voice. It is a major, irreversible fail.
A different voice should have been used for each of the represented persons. Best if female voice had been used for female character.
Tuli hyviä vinkkejä; yksi tärkeä liittyen itsestä huolehtimiseen on mielestäni hygienia, eli että peseytyy riittävästi.
Joo se on kyllä tärkeä. 👍

Loanwords from Sanskrit? No, Sanskrit or even older spoken language Tamil, is the Mother of all languages. Or perhaps Chinese and Japanese are not as they belong to long existed Lemurian civilization.
That’s interesting. I’d never heard of a Lemurian civilization before this.
Mitkä asiat sun mielestä tekee deittailusta helpompaa ja hauskempaa? Mitä vinkkejä sä antaisit ihmisille? You can also comment in English.
Those are not loanwords in Finnish language, as they also are in Estonian language. We all have something from Sanskrit. Fenno-Aryan is the third hranch of the possible language developments:
Thanks for your comment. A loanword is still a loanword even if it entered the proto-language thousands of years ago (before Estonian and Finnish became separate languages). To what language family would Fenno-Aryan belong to?
Rehellisesti sanottuna, en ymmärrä miksi sä käytät yksikön kolmas henkilön kun puhut yleisestä henkilöstä, eli niinku englanniksi yksikkö toinen henkilö käytetään. Mä on hämmentynyt...
Se on aika yleistä puhekielessä.
0:45 haha in Punjabi "ratta" is Red and "ratt" is blood

In kurdish lantern is "lukis"
Interesting!
I was surprised you insisted so much on finnish cognates and then saw the name of the channel haha
😀Yea, I’m biased. If I were a true patriot, I would’ve claimed that my native language Finnish is the grandmother of all languages, and that all great people in antiquity secretly spoke Finnish. There has actually been some bonkers theories that Finns created the Egyptian and Sumerian civilizations. 😂
Very interesting, thank you for uploading
I’m happy you enjoyed it.
What other interesting cognates and doublets etc. have you found in Indo-European languages? Or perhaps in the neighbouring languages such as Finnish?

What do you think about grammar? What’s the best way to learn it? And what’s the best way to make it more enjoyable?
I agree with your video. Grammar is not so important for beginners as much as gaining vocabulary is. So, focus should be on listening (active) and reading. Understand grammar but don’t put pressure to remember it or anything because as a beginner you wouldn’t be able to use it much either and forget. Best way to learn grammar is to follow some common books and understand it. Do exercises at end of chapter. But again grammar is not as important as increasing vocabulary is. So, focusing on listening and reading should be first goal. Eventually speaking once you develop some level of vocabulary. I learnt it hard way. I wasted time learning the standard way. It is more enjoyable now to read grammar once my speaking level is B1 or A2 on CEFR scale. Even now I don’t think grammar is too important for me till my reading is also at B1 level but it starts to get more important as I start improving writing…. IMO of course all this might be just my experience. I do not personally have more than 5/6 hr per week to spend on language learning so I want to make my learning most efficient.
Nää videot on hyviä oppimiseen. Pyytäisin joitain videoita arkielämän tärkeistä asioista Suomessa. Kiitos tekstityksistä ja selkeästä puheesta.
Kiva tietää, että näistä on hyötyä. Kiitos ideasta! Minkälaisia muita videoita sä haluaisit katsoa tulevaisuudessa? Jos tulee lisää ideoita, niin saa ehdottaa. 👍
@@FinnishLanguageNuggets Yksi idea on tehdä video siitä, kuinka terveydenhuolto toimii kunnassa ulkomaalaiselle, tai esimerkiksi siitä, kuinka koulutusjärjestelmä toimii Suomessa lapsille. Tai kuinka Kela toimii tai mitkä ovat sen tehtävät jne. Nämä ovat tärkeitä alueita ja niihin liittyvä tieto ja sanat auttavat uusia oppijoita.
@@FinnishLanguageNuggets Another idea is of course to discuss this topics with a guest if you can arrange one. That way it makes it more interesting for us learners. At least for few topics. Subtitles are best as I can watch your video repeatedly till I gain most of it!
I would like more conversations about everyday stuff like, sports, travel, news … whatever. They teach how to use phrases, ask questions, react to them, express opinions etc. That‘s extremely useful
What is tota?
The English translation would often be ”um…” or ”well”. It’s often a filler word but often it’s also ”tuo” (that) in partitive.
I should also add that “tota” is spoken language. In Standard Finnish it’s “tuota”.
Kiitoksia ❤
Kiitos kommentista. ❤️

All tools for achieving deescalation welcomed.
As a tool of deescalation, many people promote appeasement. But that often encourages dictators. We saw how that went in the 1930s and with Putin’s earlier deeds in Georgia and Ukraine. We shouldn’t send a message that just because you have nukes, you can do whatever you want to other countries. We Finns know from history that Russians don’t respect you if you only go soft on them.
Katsoa lastenohjelmia englanninkielillä tekstityksi kanssa on hauskaa. Oppiminen on totta kai hidasta, mutta viihdyttävää, jos on liian väsynyt ja silti haluaa kuulla suomea. Minun mielestä se auttaa tosi paljon. Kiitos! Tosi hyvä video!
Kiitos kommentista! Mikä lastenohjelma on sun mielestä paras suomen kielen opiskeluun?
@@FinnishLanguageNuggets Esimerkiksi Jurassic World: Chaos Theory (Netflix:ssa) on nykyään mun paras sarja. Aina kuuntele suomen kielellä ja englannin tekstitykset kanssa. Mutta siellä on monia mielenkiintoista sarjoja. Valitettavasti aikuisille ei ole paljon ohjelmia suomeksi, jotka kiinnostaisivat minua. Onneksi lastenohjelmissa on paljon suomeksi. Olen luonut lapsin profilli , ja sitten se tarjoaa enemmän vaihtoehtoja.
@@FinnishLanguageNuggets En vastannut sinun kysymys. Mielestäni kielen oppimiseksi pitää valita ohjelmia, jotka ovat vähän oman tason yläpuolella mutta eivät liian vaikeita.
Kiito

actualy, birthplace of alfabet, literacy and old church slavonic(old bulgarian),come from Bulgaria mate and is spread,to Ukraine and Russia, hihihi. What is the truth?Every empire, try to delete us and our history?
Thank you for your interesting comment. Yes Old Church Slavonic has the honour of being the first Slavic literary language, the birthplace of the Cyrillic alphabet. Proto-Slavic and Old Church Slavonic are not the same language although they were still quite similar. At the time when the Cyrillic alphabet was created, Slavic languageS were already spoken in a wide area. All Slavic languages do not descend from Old Church Slavonic. Everybody likes to believe that their home country has a glorious history with many achievements, but sometimes _some_ of those stories are not accurate.

Love the chill setting!
Thanks! We were walking for maybe an hour looking for a suitable spot. 😅
There is also a word in Farsi, سوختن (sukhtan) which means to burn, it is cognate with the word in Finnish “huhta”, wood forest cleared for farmland. Viha (hatred) is cognate with Farsi viš ویش and they descend from the PII word wiša, which comes from PIE wisós (poison), which has cognates in Ancient Greek íos and Latin vīrus, where we get words in English like virus, virulent, etc.
Interesting! 👍Yes “huhta” aka “kaski” was made by burning. If I remember right, at some point in the 19th century it became illegal.
What other interesting connections/cognates have you found in Indo-European languages? Or perhaps in other neighbouring languages?

Mielenkiintoista!
Sarjakuvien kuvat antavat kontekstia, joten lauseet jäävät helpommin mieleen. Kuulostaako nää neuvoilta, jotka sopii sun opiskelu-tyyliin? Mä luen mielelläni sun kokemuksista tulevaisuudessa.
