Priceless B Movies: Joker: Folie A Deux
Просмотров 983 месяца назад
My review of Joker: Folie A Deux! I decided to do something a little different with this one. Since, in my opinion, Todd Phillips broke a cardinal rule of movie musicals, I am breaking a rule of my own. See if you can spot it. Also, I have chosen to not give this film a star ranking as I usually do by the end of it. I have my reasons, but I want to hear your opinions!

Priceless B Movies: Head Of The Family
I like this movie but it could’ve been done alot better. The scene where the little girl shows the lady what happened , I think that the music chose was so bad , I think classic music like Beethoven could’ve work better for that scene .
I can’t wait to see it! Priceless B movies is where I get my info
@@NathanDunn-h3j Thanks, bro!
It's odd how what you disliked about this movie, most people liked. Maybe that's why you did this video 9 years ago and only got 7 likes and 242 views. Just saying.
Interesting how I give it a glowing review and I'm still attacked by fans. But this is a hobby for me. None if this is monetized. So I really don't care about views or likes. I just give my opinions.
Used to have this in my DVD collection. Right next to Scarface, Godfather trilogy, Belly, New Jack City, and Empire. This movie was awesome.
@@wusaint It really is!
I loved this movie when it came out, and today, it's still one of the DVDs in my main collection. It's got a great story, a great cast and great plot, but my only grief is that the ending doesn't fit the rest of the movie. If I had written the plot, I would have stuck to the hauntings and deviate away from Ferriman being the cause of the evil. I really didn't think the opening gore and flashbacks were necessary either. By the way, I think Ferriman was based on the Greek character of Charon, the ferryman of the dead.
@@aesgaard41 Oh, he definitely was. His name gave the twist away immediately. I just didn't care for the performance.
That movie is awesome as fucc
Its a great movie. Good cast. Watch it.
Never heard of this movie before.
@@aesgaard41 Definitely check it out if you are into crime films.
Schitts creek is what brought her back.
Lina Leandersson as Eli in Let The Right One In?
@steve4films Both of those films were great, but there can only be ten. There were several that I would have liked to include as well, though.
D'awwwwwww. I mean, P'awwwwwww. And, Beetlejuice. My brother and I saw the OG in first run. It's an Eighties comedy that holds up due in large part to its distinctness. Hopefully will see B2 in the next week or two.
Why are you doing reviews now standing up? You looked more comfortable sitting down. I loved the 1989 "Beetlejuice," but it's hard to understand the plot of the new movie from all these reviews popping up. Everyone keeps saying it's not as good as the first one, but I still want to see it. By the way, I love your new co-host. Bulldog?
That's fair. I feel better in a standing up position and honestly, it comes with the new space. Kinda hard to get a good chair where I would need it cause I am really close to a door and a piece of furniture. The plot isn't confusing. There is just a lot going on in it. I tried to simplify it for my review but there is never a dull moment in the film. Thank you! She is a cocker spaniel/pug mix from her DNA test results.
@@colinprice7964 I love pug dogs. I can definitely see it in her.
Love this movie. Great honest review
Really like this list 👍🏻
@@garlantyrell8030 Thank you!

I have seen all of those and have reviewed many of them on this page in the past! Great picks!
Fantastic list, one of the best I’ve watched in a while.
@@REDREDKRUVY4814 Thank you!
Angela in the first Sleepaway Camp is a man.
The character reveal is to be sure, but as stated in the video, I am not here to have gender based discussions. The character is played by women in all of the films, so I decided to count her. Many others with similar lists have as well.
Here’s a comment
@@cornholio2055 lol. Thanks!
Kayako from Juon: The Grudge at number 1.
@@group-music I considered Kayako. She definitely would have made an honorable mention.
Great list.
I don't know if you noticed this or if I already told you this, but when Holly visits her brother in the movie, the location is the same site as St. Rita's Academy in "Night of the Demons 2." The site was the Anoakia Estate in Arcadia, CA. It's since been demolished, but it's because of this movie I was able to track it down.
I didn't know that. I'm gonna have to look for it the next time I watch this flick.
It has been a long time. I recall when you were clean-shaven and sitting down. I'm not really familiar with this flick, I guess I'm choosy in my choice of horror flicks inasmuch as weighing them by plot, content and value, but it seems to be just a variation of the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "Last House on the Left" flicks where gore is more important than plot. Still surprised Robert Englund didn't mind doing horror as long as he didn't have to wear the Freddie make-up and gloves. Anyway, welcome back, dude. I've got a lot of suggestions when you're ready.
Good re/start. Welcome back.
Hey, thanks!
Worked on this movie. Never thought of it as a B movie. We had a pretty decent budget. I was working at one of the five special effects makeup studios.
So, I called the page Priceless B Movies but to me, it is just a place where I can talk about films that I think deserve more appreciation than they get. Lord of Illusions is one of my favorite 90's horror films, but in today's mainstream, social media, drive-thru mindset, it is largely forgotten. And I don't think that is right, so I wanted to bring attention to it. And that is awesome that you worked on the film in that capacity! I am really eager to ask some questions about some of those effects! Do you mind?
Yep the acting is bad but not as bad as porn actors
There’s also what happens after Scott Bakula dies. Bruce Willis basically takes over his late friend’s life; he lives in his house, drives his car and works in his office!
First one is bad, 2nd one is actually really good
Dear God i was so skinny lol
The movies were better than the TV series 💛
I'm a big fan of "The Shining" but it's mostly for the layout of the hotel which intrigues me. I like "Dr. Sleep" too because its an excuse to revisit the earlier movie, but to me, it's like the sequel we didn't need. I think we all had our ideas of what happened next to Wendy and Danny, but bringing in psychic vampires was a huge distraction.
One of the greatest movies ever 🙌
Ok I know I’m going to get shouted at but I prefer demon house to the 1st. I dropped on the second in a video store back in the 90s when I was 15 and absolutely loved it then I watched this then the original and I preferred 2 and 3 to the original
Totally feel the same
Personally, I like Nicolas "Nic" Roeg's film adaptation with Anjelica Huston (1990) a lot more than Robert "Bob" Zemeckis' 2020 new movie take with Anne Hathaway; I also think it's closer to the spirit of the original book by Roald Dahl. There is also a comic book/graphic novel version of the novel by french illustrator Pénélope Bagieu with great artwork which I think is really very good.
The only improvement is not chickening out with a redeemable witch, and adhering to Dahl's insistence that they are humanoid demons. Everything else is inferior, even the stuff that's not bad, like the scene where they turn him into a rodent, that's good, but not on the 1990 film's level.
I actually really liked that they added that in the first movie/film adaptation. Why shouldn't demons disguised as adult human females be redeemable? Dahl wasn't satisfied anyway, while the ending was too sweet for him he also disliked the darker parts like the scene with the baby, which wasn't in the original book/novel either.
Robert englund is excellent on dictating this hidden gem 80's horror movie. 😀👍
Just finished this movie, and I agree with your take that this version didn't work, especially with its decision to rely on CGI. This is becoming the downside of modern movies, where too slick graphics stifle the realism. Also, the children didn't seem realistic or worried enough. It wasn't the acting, but the writing. Like the line when the main mouse is being lowered onto the High Witch's balcony, and says "Ever since I was turned into a small mouse, I'm not scared anymore." No sense of danger, or concern after being a mouse for less than an hour and almost being killed 3 times! The chubby mouse-kid is too stupid to be believed, and his parents don't even wonder why this woman keeps bringing up their missing kid even with him now missing overnight?
I couldn't agree more.
One of the shittiest, generic, mainstream piles of garbage of the last decade.
Loved the review and the idea of you being invisible during the review🤣
hey..dude. do you have soundtracks of that movie ? i wish to buy them or download for free all songs in movie :) amazing piece of art ! thnx for video btw .
Hey there! I do not own the rights to or have any copies of the music in the movie. Sorry. If you are able to find the album, let me know!
You’re a better man than me. I gave up after 10 minutes. Who the hell buys a house without checking out the basement?
So you may have already finished the book at this point, but I will say that the ending of Doctor Sleep the book and the ending of Doctor Sleep the movie was very different, but I was honestly okay with it. Mike sort of took the ending of the book The Shining and made it the ending of Doctor Sleep. Also, I’d sort of argue that other members of the true knot like snakebite Andi and The Crow had somewhat bigger roles in the book, but I guess you can only fit in so much without making a LOTR length movie. But, as somewhat of a book loyalist when it comes to King, I was pretty satisfied with the movie and thought it was very good. Also, I agree with you about the Kubrick Shining, I appreciate it for what it is and I do think as movie by itself it’s pretty good, but as an adaptation it’s just not good at all, especially when it comes to the character adaptations. Kubrick absolutely butchered King’s original characters, in my opinion. Anyways, I enjoy your reviews man, keep it up! 🙂
Spot on review, well said, Colin!
Saw it last night. Too dark for the mood I was in, but it was good.
I have to confess, I haven't seen a lot of movies that I really had to see at the theater, but the previews and buzz on this film really has me wanting to see it. I seems Joaquin Phoenix really puts himself into this role, and isn't he the same guy who played Johnny Cash?
Yes, he is. He needs the Oscar for this film.
Want a horror movie with a ghost ? Go watch The Babadook instead of this, The Babadook is actually an effective film.
The thing that annoys me the most about conjuring fans is that they say this is the only good horror since the 90s or whatever and imo there have been PLENTY of decent horrors since the 90s. Also horror fans in general hate jump scares so much but when this came out they had the nerve to call it unique and no one ever mentions the jump scares. Horror fans are so flip floppy haha
0:37 Well , I think that almost everyone knows what this movie is right now, thankfully .
After watching your rant on The Conjuring , I am wondering what you think about something like The Babadook and also have you seen the even worse sequel to The Conjuring , I thought the first Conjuring was passable , I thought the second film was VERY boring , but I absolutely ADORED The Babadook( if you haven't seen it change that RIGHT NOW like THIS VERY MOMENT THAT YOU ARE READING MY COMMENT) , if you dislike jumpscares and gore and like psychological terror you will like The Babadook if not then you won't,also you need to know it is more of a psychological thriller than a monster movie . .
I actually reviewed The Babadook on this page and I absolutely agree with you.
Nice, like I am so happy right now 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃, also which Conjuring film is worse .
I don't think it was that bad the 2nd one is worse , this film at the very least isn't boring . I think that you will hate the 2nd one even more and thus I think you should watch it , the 2nd Conjruring is frickin boring and lame .
