Do you glue the new piece of fabric on first?

Great information thank you I've been doing few simple projects but I've took in all the info you have kindly supplied to me and yes much appreciated I've been practicing for roughly 2 weeks off and on but now decided to buy my grip frame and start to get more confidence I've always been a sewer by hand love any needle work my ultra pen will be arriving in next few days and so excited to complete a project your information is well passed on and can't wait to try I need to get cloth I only have monks cloth and Calico cotton but I've been told I can't use Calico when embroidery is this right Many thanks Julie
