First Drive: JDM Suzuki Jimny Kei Car Across Western Canada!
Просмотров 9 тыс.5 лет назад
I bought a 1996 Suzuki Jimny Kei car from Japan, sight unseen. Well, I had about 30 pictures. I flew out to British Columbia, and drove it over 2,000 kms home! It has a 660cc turbo engine, and is small enough to park in the tightest of Canadian parking spaces. My Dad was nice enough to fly out with me and help me get it home. Here's how it went! how was it? I am looking to import a small kcar for some fun in Banff.
Tourist tax Did you pay it?
Yes, I am pretty sure the Mexican experience of the 80% of people is limited to 3 Cs. Cancun, Cabo San Lucas and Playa del Carmen.
Do you mind now why we Italians loved the old Fiat 500? 😎👌
please elaborate more on the rental added fees. I'm going to PV but plan on renting a car to drive to Tequila. I hear about this mexican tax and i'm worried.
Appericate the video. Making plans for the future and the "median" in the middle with both lanes going would throw me off too. Thanks for the honest clip too. ❤
Favorite driving story: driving along the cuota 250 km/hr passing 3 truckloads of Mexican army soldiers off to fight the drug cartel.
as someone from Scotland...as long as the road is completely paved it is perfectly safe
lol I just drove the amalfi and Scotland earned me more man points
I went and was concerned after reading "don't drive there" comment on trip advisor...as a German I conclude: those must have been Americans commenting. Great ride and no problems at all.
What type of vehicle did you rent? asking for size reasons, thanks!
Renting a car on Wednesday and this was a great start for me. Thanks!
How did you find it? I'm going to rent a car this week. Do you have any recommendations?
Brief, clear and concise. Good job. Thanks.
durring summer time this speed limits are indeed very annoying.. But over winter and autumn the roads can be very slippery due to the rain and snow, and if you loose control you will end up failling of the cliff instead of just bumping into the fence a bit. Driving 20 is indeed annoying
Excellent tips! I am going next month and pondering if I need a car or Uber. Based on your video tutorial, renting a car for day trip or sight seeing outside of the city sounds like a possibility to consider. Cheers!
Hi Brandin. I am in Winnipeg as well. I've been looking for a Samurai/Jimny. Would love to talk Jimnys when you have some time.
Is the jimny still down
Im guessing north americans arent used to changing speeds regularly. We have the same speed limits in the uk in residential areas, it really isnt an issue as its corrisponds with potential hazards. Looks like a lovely place to visit, thanks for the video.
This is our country my grandmother country
What time does it get dark in South Africa during the fall? Like October or November?
Around 5 - 6 east coast and between 7 - 9 west coast
October and November are summer for us, so 6 , 7 pm
You are always welcome in Montenegro!
Will be going to Kotor from Dubrovnik next month. Thanks for sharing.
I hold an Indian driving licence and a EU driving licence. Considering what i ve gone through, this is a piece of cake 😂😂
Thanks a lot! I will have my summer holiday in Montenegro this year, and i will go with motorbike, and your video all the information that i need.
Did you recall anything strange happening leading up to this, like accidentally mis-shifting and over-revving the engine into redline or having detonation pinging? I've seen some other kei turbo engines have similar issues with no clear explanation of what led up to it. Trying to figure out what may have gone wrong and how to prevent it, essentially.
I'm traveling to South Africa in a couple weeks and it will be my first time driving on the left. This made me feel much better thank you!!
Nice your video
Thanks, I'm in Oki for the past 6 months and couldn't figure out the new parts online situation, there's plenty of physical stores to pickup the basics but anything past spark plugs and you'll either waiting for them or hunting through the various junk yards. Been hesitant with yahoo bids, but ill give them a try. I got a 95 JA11 Jimny. Now need to figure out the shackle and leaf springs bushings for this!
Only $5,000 that’s amazing! What country did you find the Jimny in ? If you don’t mind what is the shipping process? Thanks
美しい場所ですね。
wow
Very nice. Grabbing a 1999 Jimny in AB.
Nice, they're great little trucks!
Visit burundi next Time 🇧🇮
great vid!
Hi, do you have a suzuki jimny ja22w factory parts manual?
Unfortunately not, but I did find an engine repair manual for the K6A.
How do we drive in kampala
For one, I didn't know there was Google maps here in Uganda as 90% of the roads here have NO names 😳... I live here in Kampala, so here in Uganda we all go by landmarks to get to our destinations as many here don't even know how to properly give instructions or directions to get to your destinations which can be frustrating at times
Thanks bro, great tips
thank you, I am very helpful to know that a green card is needed because some people say that it is needed, others say that it is not needed. we have a golf 2 and now we are thinking whether to ride it or not. 😊
Thanx this is very helpful and informative 🙏🏼
pro-tip: don't
Where can I get Toyota Wish zg20 parts?.. thanks you
Do you necessarily have to be with a Ugandan driving license ? Or can you use one from your country to drive here?
Thank you so much, the video is great!
Do suggest booking a car in advance? Or should we rent when arrived.
I just bought a 1995 660cc just like yours but mine is automatic 3 speed. i like your !!!
wawaaa
We also have Suzuki Jimny Sierra aka samurai 3 manual transmission and automatic transmission ELK edition!!! Check our website and RUclips channel
Hi, thanks for the video , I am in the process to get into a jimmy and this video is very helpful, I would like to ask you if you know where to get that roof rack? Thanks
Hey thanks for watching! I believe the roof rack is a factory option on the JDM Jimny. Many Jimnys of this vintage seem to have the same rack equipped. It was definitely on my list of must have equipment when I was shopping for mine.
You have a lot more patience than me. I would have expected Renault to immediately just send a replacement car. Even knock a bit off the cost for the trouble.
I managed to get to 125 km/h at 5100 rpm in my Jimmy. By no means was this an easy feat but unless one has very steady hands I would not advise making such an attempt.
