I'm going to make gaming content, and focus primarily on Tempest Rising. I grew up on Command & Conquer, so I have a passion for this spiritual successor. I'm not a pro gamer. I'll make tons of misplays and misclicks will abound. Hopefully anyone passing by and give me some tips to make me better.
The purpose of this channel is to share something that I love, and for myself, to self-document my improvement. If you enjoy anything here and it makes you a little happier, well then that's a win in my book. While waiting for Tempest Rising to drop, and during those middle moments, I will also be posting other games I enjoy.

Hellcard Tinkerer Run - Final ep2/2
Well my final thoughts on this Tinkerer is that the upgraded cards he got are definitely curiosity piquing that's for sure. The basic Tinkerer really isn't that great to play through, but those upgrade cards present some intriguing combo possibilities.

Phew, I'm still not sure what happened to that army. It was doing damage, I checked my home base, then looked back and most of it was just missing. Maybe a whole opened in the space-time continuum and disappeared them. This is Red Alert so anything could happen. I do this for my own fun. Misplays will abound! 📢

Well it took a few losses to figure out how to pull off the Soviet 1v2 win, but I finally did. I might even come back and try this again later on a different map. Because this map is very specific to a type of strategy. But, coming up soon will be a 1v3. Whew! Is it too much?? I do this for my own fun. Misplays will abound! 📢

Very impressive that a game like this can finish this quickly. It end up feeling too simplistic later on. In truth, no single system in the game is particularly in depth, but it does have many polished systems. And more that I still have to learn the nitty-gritty of. Like how can I be a powerhouse as a cultural influencing espionage faction? I do this for my own fun. Misplays will abound! 📢

Things are looking really bad as my own custom civ, the very reason for my loss in the previous run, the Luminar Realms declares war on me. So this strat is a marked improvement, and really feels like it's going to lead to the win. Advancing to the right island is so painfully obvious as the right choice I feel like an idiot for not doing it sooner. I do this for my own fun. Misplays will abound! 📢

That's a good call. Dreadnaughts would work well here. The long range coupled with the close proximity of the enemy base would go well together.

Thank you. It was such a close one. A hard loss, but lessons were learned, so in the end I got better and I'm also satisfied with that.

I know right!! It's like a classic "enemy boss after you unlock him as a playable character." The base expansion algorithm particularly seems to take a hit.

I know right! She's such a fun commando. The best one of the three I think.
Damn! It was looking really good there. Like you said building up a bigger fleet on the backburner rather than dumping so many turns into supply ships might have saved you from getting overrun. I think once you got the factory up and running it was probably time to invest into a whole fleet or two of cruisers. And some of the smaller worlds that can pump out bombers/fighters in one turn. I wonder if building a couple star bases near the tech planet to boost culture would have been enough to keep it yours? Would love to see what you plan for the next run. Maybe go nihilistic and go for a terror star?
I know.. you really summed up my feelings well. I guess my big Achilles heel in gaming is that i like building up the industry so much that I'm too late to start using it. A real shame. This run was looking so good. Next run will be much more war based, but still a progressive ideological tree. And then the run after that I'm definitely going for terror stars. I'm thinking a single sector map. I haven't done one in GalCiv 4 yet. Gonna be tons of fun 👍

Stingrays on land? Bruh, AI. They are a bit weak unit past early game. I think collectors resist vindi bombs, bombing the ref might be more bomb-efficient. Did I see heroic century bomber :o?
I think you're right that you get more dage per bomb on refineries. But that sweet spot is hitting the ore collector while in the refinery 🤌 Hard to justify putting the attention into that though. Yeah a heroic century bomber does work for sure. A but terrifying for an enemy to see.
That stuck carrier I cant explain, but you did not try to cronoswap it

Kirov reporting

Well, I had some record on this map against Insane AI, normally I'll not use Navy, in early time, expend base for at least 3 oil drill, then try to get more oil drill when expend base. More practice will be help, I started from 8-Bit Armies, then most skills I learned from that, need some adjust for 9-Bit Armies, but still useful. Tech lab is important, but in early time, 3 motorpools can make sure enough training speed to build defend force, then can build 4 or more, or Radar for Heavy tanks, with more motorpools can make Heavy tank train faster, then mix Heavy tank and Artillery as 2:1, with engineers can against most kind of attack. Then can try to use Hotkeys, I used Hotkeys from 8-Bit series, Q for Refinery, E for Barrack, W for Power plant, R for Motorpool, A for Air Control/Drone Center, T for Shipyard, Ctrl+A for Bunker, Ctrl+X for MG Turret/Turret, Ctrl+V for Missile Turret/APD Turret. Then can try to set all Barrack, Motorpool, Air Control/Drone Center to Group 3, so you can switch rally point fast, only need to press 3 and right click. 4 for Shipyard, normally I'll not use Naval with ground and air units, but to Naval map, I'll set Shipyard and Air Control/Drone Center as same group. I had some tutorial videos, that will be help to improve skills. Have a nice day.

Teslacoil the invincible :D Both allies and sov turretpushes are viable in pvp. Allied turretpush and sov teslarush are a thing.
I have seen that before. It's really cool to see it done well 👍 Base creep is a lot easier when the opponent doesn't get 2x resource gain. I should do match against hard AI without producing a single unit.

I thought basecreep is easier on allies as instant turret drops. Granted, usually not only basecreep, it is added on top of existing army.
Allies have a better base creep over time. Soviets are better in bursts. So with army support, Allies are probably better. But without army support I think it goes to the Soviets. Throw in the iron curtain and it's a powerful combo.
Shinobi near mcv? Just run over! Seawing (flying form) is mainly anti-infantry unit.
Yeah I had to re-realize that about the seawings. I have this memory from earlier in my life of waves upon waves of seawings just obliterating an enemy base. But it truly does need so many of the units to be effective.
I have no idea what Shinzo's tactic is, I find it hard to differentiate him and Kenji. I guess S does use occasional sudden transport...
He'll also flood you with burst drones. But given how inconsequential burst drones are, this difference is barely noticeable.
Empire arty shooting "through" walls doesnt actually differ from other factions arty, as they fire over stuff as well. It might look a bit goofy because it is a straight beam.
Oh, yeah makes a ton of sense. The dreadnought and carrier can elevate attacks. Very good point 👍👍

Oh man RA2 is amazing as well. I have so many good memories of that game. It really turned the tone of Red Alert into a more over-the-top bombastic kind of game.
Zhana sending copters vs copters: smört She just cant handle air attacks very well.
Yeah it's definitely her Achilles heel, soft underbelly, glass jaw... etc. She also doesn't base expand well either. Neither does Giles. Something about the air focused AI that doesn't expand well.

That could be the proper tactic for sure. A more talented player than I might be able to do it. For me what makes that hard is the AI is so good with combined arms. It can seamlessly weave conscripts, flak troopers, tesla troopers, v4s, and air support together. I can't hope to keep up with the micro needed for that. Which makes shock battle difficult for humans. That's why I prefer more oblique attacks like the backdoor dreadnought or other such attacks.
Well, in early time, let Forward HQ to important place to deploy, then Refinery, Barrack, Motorpool (2 Harvesters, Forward HQ, then Armored Car), After Forward HQ deploy, Bunker with infantry is good in early time, then second Refinery (This time power is not enough, but that's not big problem in early time), Power plant, second Motorpool or third Refinery (Need at least 3 Refinery in early time to keep income to keep training units and build buildings, but if there is more Oil Drill, make sure build Refinery near Oil drill to get more income) (Can build near Forward Outpost to help defend, or using to expend base for new Oil Drill), Then third Motorpool or Tech Lab, then Power plant, after have 4 Motorpool, can try to train Tanks, in early time, can use Tank to crush opponent's Infantry, they also can attack while moving, make sure hit and run in early time, after Radar build, can start train Heavy Tank and Artillery. The main problem is your income not enough to keep building and training, but AI still has enough income to keep training units, so when time pass, your units will less than AI's units. I prefer use horde units crush AI, so trying to build at least 6 or more Motorpool to keep training vehicle (if possible, make sure train extra Harvester, let every oil drill has at least 1 refinery and 2 Harvesters, if can't train Harvesters from Motorpool, build second Refinery then sell it, so you'll have 2 Refinery, this also works in Red Alert 2), if has enough income, can build more Barrack and Air Control/Drone Center. I'm not good at Naval, so I'll try to avoid Naval map, but if need, try to build Gun Boat in early time, then Torpedo Boat to against Sentinels Frigate, Frigate can destroy a group of Gun Boat very easy. To Sentinels, Tadpole in early time can mix with Rocket Car, so you'll have fast group to hit and run, also can against Infantry and Vehicle, then Frigate is good against Building and units on land, can think Frigate is Artillery on water, but their attack will never miss, unlike you can let units keep moving to avoid Artillery's attack, Frigate's attack is 100% hit. Battleship is good against Air craft and ground units, but need to keep controlling, because units will not auto attack units attack them out of range, so sometimes you'll see Heavy Drones take out Battleship without losing. To Sentinels, try to use Siege Artillery+Heavy Drone+Sniper+Engineer+Spectre, if have Armory, use Rage Tank. This is useful to against AI, to PVP can use Spectre sneak into opponent's base and assault, or Stealth Bombers. So far can practice how to crush AI by keep training units, keep building, also keep income and expend base. Make sure attack your opponent with lots units, when against AI, all units attack is very useful, but also make sure don't let too many units got killed, this also worked in 8-Bit Series. More practice will be help, have a nice day. BTW, I had this map's skirmish against AI, maybe will be help.

Im no expert, but perhaps try a Kirov rush. Build up a little defence and get the kirovs out with some bullfrogs and a couple sickles and see if that breaks him. Thanks for sharing these. Enjoying your vids on RA3
He does seem vulnerable to kirovs. Don't sell yourself short. Your idea is as good as mine right now. One thing is that this is a large map, and the kriovs will take time to get there.
That mask just gives corona time flashbacks to me. Can techicans capture enemy buildings like in c&c?
I thought the same thing while playing. Maybe Tempest Rising is an alternate timeline where corona was caused by the tempest plant, and everyone has to wear never ending masks? What a dismal dystopia that would be. And yes, technicians can capture enemy buildings. I opted not to do it as the Dynasty since I did it with GDF, although it would have been tactically the prudent decision.

Hi, in early time, try to get 3 refinery and 6 harvasters, then build 2 or more motorpools, after 2 or 3 motorpool, tech lab for tank, also make sure keep build building toward new oil drills. Then can build Radar for heavy tank and artillery, or more motorpool for more tanks. I recorded tutorial few weeks ago, maybe will be help, have a nice day.

Machineguns! Riptides are stronger in water, so trying to Tanya them in water usually ends poorly. You have a dog? German shepard or husky by any chance ;)?
Oh, he's a jindo, which is a common breed here in Korea, and was originally a street dog, which isn't so common. But he's about half the size of a normal jindo, so we assume he's mixed with something small but we have no idea. My wife and I would like to have a german shepherd, but it's too big for our apartment. Is that what you have?

Shrink beam of cryos drops range, so they could help vs carriers. Carriers do have highest range, though.
That's a good point. Worth remembering next time I need those carriers to get a little too close.
@12:00 When you were looking for a ship to move to not end your turn, you might have been able to get one of your fighters stationed on your core world. Probably forgot because you did it last week! So keen to see how this run goes, I've yet to see an alliance victory!

Vindicators! Mm, near-perfect collider+bomber strike
I alwayz wish the vindicators bombs were more like missiles. Like the mig strikes in Red Alert 1. I feel as if animating them as missiles would make the vindis feel more punchy.
Adv. rocketpods do affect seawings! Not sure about the flying form though. Naomi is pretty scary if you dont know who you are fighting. Her early subs pretty much prevent you from going to water and AI is very good at using kamikaze of the subs.
Good to know. My guess is it doesn't affect flying form because those attacks look like laser bolts. Yeah, if you don't get a jump on Naomi early she can be a little terrifying with her shogun rush.
The "invincible Worg" tactic was awesome. I always save a few of the "can't be knocked down" consumable for cases like this. Oh, and fully decked out Archers are NASTY.
I'll have to try and get more archers next time. I think I didn't do them much this run because an archer was one of the very first gladiators I had, and it wasn't strong enough right out of the gate. He gave me a bad impression of the archers generally, so I left them alone. But point well taken. I'll look into them more.
@@AxofAjax They are naturally glass cannons, so when squad size is small, they are very vulnerable to getting sniped by opposing ranged, or Chasers (like Worg or Assassin). However, the game physics is such that your own arrows will go through your other units, while opponent arrows will not. That means I usually set up a wall of melee non-tanks in such a way as to block the path of the first few projectiles that they'll try to fire at my Archers. And my arrows will go straight through that wall. That is usually enough to swing the fight.

Very true. Kenji always feels like he's on the edge of greatness, but is missing one ingredient to really be devastating.
Shinzo is probly easiest emp commander. Garrisoned shinobi might be good infantry killer.
I agree with that about Shinzo. It's weird because Empire is all about harrass/mobility units. But Shinzo needs work. Garrisoned shinobi is a great idea!
Zhana really cant handle choppers
It actually blows my mind how bad she is at countering her own exact strategy. For Oleg tanks are a fine way to slow enemy tanks. But twinblades can't do anything against other twinblades. Yet somehow Zhana's AI doesn't call for much anti-air.
Goes against Moskvin. Does not open with crane. Bruh. I think Moskvin can also stingray rush you on naval maps, which is almost as brutal as terrordrone rush.
I know right! Total misplay on the crane! I remember in lore Moskvin had some connection with tesla tech. So you're right. He'll spam out stingrays if allowed, and he favors tesla troopers as well.
You can click on any part of the priority scale (such as the far left or right of it). You don't have to "grab" the slider itself.

I think dev commentary on code actually calls Oleg-AI dumb xD Was sputnik-spam necessary part of this challenge? Because that sputnik in water next to your base was unnecessary, just move mcv! The farther ones actually serve a purpose, but that is soo close.
You're absolutely right. I definitely overdid it with the sputniks. I wish I had seen this comment yesterday. I just recorded doing this against brutal Oleg, and it took me a few tries but I learned this lesson the hard way 😅
This is sort of "extreme mirrror match" as you mirror AI tactics as well. Warren uses centuries, what!?!? Never seen that myself
Oh yeah it is a mirror match! That's what I should have called it. Yeah I was pretty surprised to see those century bombers too, but a bit distracted to let the surprise show that much. I guess a mirror tactic gets them to bring out odd counters of their own.
