I am so glad I took my wife to see Varga perform at the small Vagon club in Prague for her birthday around this same time. His wife brought us backstage so he could tell my wife happy birthday. Such a sweet guy, complete genius, but he seemed mentally a bit like Ozzy already by that point.

Such an amazing symph-prog band! So underrated! Dig them for almost 50 years... Greetings from Brasil!

First time I saw them they were an opening act for Jethro Tull... blew me away... Ian and the boys had to work hard that night. Next time I saw them it was sans Holdsworth and Bruford but Bozzio did just fine and they did most of the stuff from the first album along with the newer stuff. Sad they broke up so soon. Possibly my favorite prog group.

I saw them in Glasgow at the Garage doing this very concert and was standing right below Andy at the front. A lesson in guitar playing. He can make a guitar talk and plays with such emotion. Under the moon is one of the best guitar solos I have ever heard. It was a gig I will never forget.

Saw them on the cramped stage at Birmingham University Student's Union, in 1975 I think. They were the support act for Jon Luc Ponty's band. I think the two bands were put together for the sole reason that both featured an electric violinist. They completely outshone the main act. Moreover, I was impressed that most were multi-instrumentalists, swopping instruments between performances. Everything was delivered at studio quality, no errors. I would say that they were, of all the live bands I saw, easily the one that most outperformed expectations. The following day I went straight into the city centre to buy their albums.

All the Jobson - Wetton - Bozzio UK needed was a guitarist to fill out their sound. For myself, I think that lineup was a stronger version of the band.
