They're priced at the low end of the market so even with that in mind I still don't appreciate cutting my fingers every time I load through the side gate and it's sharp edges. Also for something that's manually fed it shouldn't be so picky on what type of ammo you use.

I had heard that the newer R92 is no longer made by Taurus. I personally own an eight year old Taurus built model similar to the one in this video. The frame, nose cap, and buttplate are case hardened and is a 20" barrel. I have made no changes or modifications whatsoever. Off sandbags at 100m with my own cast loads will stay under 2", and one particular SWCHPGC with a healthy dose of AA7 is absolutely brutal on large feral hogs in the woods I live in. The action and trigger are smooth and easy. All I did to make it this way was to sit and cycle it empty about 150 times. A pre-break in if you will. It's my absolute favorite rifle. A neighbor was visiting for some shooting on my range a few years ago and was talking badly about Rossi and Taurus. I simply said try this, stating it was box stock. After a full magazine shot, he offered me more than I paid for it. Some folks listened to the wrong people and base their opinion but never personally shot the weapon. The internet "experts" are usually just being magpies repeating what they've heard, but never experienced the weapon.

I had a Rossi single shot I bought it for my wife. 9 out of 10 times it would snap on a live round and you would have to cock it 3-4 times before it would fire. On the loading you would have to slam it hard to close it. Then you might have to close it 3-4 times before it would lock. Took it back to the gun shop where I bought it at. They had a gun Smith and he said that he couldn't find anything wrong with it. So I was out of luck got stuck with it for about 5 or 6 years until a friend of mine wanted to buy it. So I sold it to him for what I paid for it. At least I got my money back. I got my wife a Henry single shot a couple of years ago in the same caliber 5.56/223 and have had no problems with it. The issue youre experiencing with the roll of the rifle is less the fault of the optic and more fault of the B5 grip and the grip you installed. The B5 feels great in hand, however the beaver tail is extremely tall vs a Magpul or other beaver tail grips. Since the Carmel is very tall height over bore the tall beaver tail positions your hand low on the receiver forcing your hand to compensate for more material and weight above your grip. I replaced my B5 with a Magpul MIAD. Initially I installed the grip with the backstrap that had no beaver tail and it balanced the rifle with the side to side roll, however it put my hand out of position of the fire control group. The perfect balance was the MIAD with the smallest beaver tail backstrap. This allowed my hand to postion well with the ergonomics of the lower, but also high enough on the grip to balance the weight and material above my grip. Try a Magpul or a B5 without backstrap and im sure youll have a better time with the rifle.

The tall blocky handguard makes it difficult to use anything on top and it is short for 8lbs. 😮With the amount of polymer it uses and that thin-ish profile barrel, it is crazy how much heavier it is over the Bren2, even the 16'' carbine version with a thick barrel is ~0.8lb lighter. No way you had a Bren2 11''(~6.5lb with stock) and be able to justify the weight of this thing. If we gauge it with other things, that's the weight of a SCAR17s, a true battle rifle... Or a MK12 for a bit less weight. 😂I used both 11'' and 16'' Bren2, and thought that even the 16'' Bren2 was getting too cumbersome after accessories and a Ti can.
