Brother. I like your style. But i think your selling him a tad short. My comp is shades russ athleticism with the best version of ben simmons defensive instincts/ability. If he can gain some of the grown man strength giannis did, this guy can be a top5 player in the league.

I havent heard the Igoudala comp before but i like it. I really wish there was a way to see what this team looks like without Jalen green. If amen started instead of him i reckon the team would look so much better.

Amen has the quickest response to drives towards the basket I've ever seen. Maybe there is someone as quick, but that still puts Amen in elite company.

Andre Iguodala has been the primary comp for Ausar. So it’s funny to hear the same comp. But it makes sense. They are so much more alike than they are different. Love their growth so far.

Amen is going to be one of the best 2-way players! He can literally guard 1 through 5! Plus his Defensive IQ at his age is ridiculously amazing.

Last season was horrible from Memphis for many reasons, but the experience has helped a number grown their game, Laravia, Pippin and Aldama and arguably JJJ as well. Bane is working his way back into form and Vince Williams jr will be good to get back on defence. There's also GG Jackson out injured who showed flashes of the player he could be last season. It's looking good for a decent regular season but they need to show more in the play offs this season.

Want to mention their defense lacked on multiple early games due to sync issues. So the stats will go up faster than expected since that issue has been fixed. So I believe if they started like they are now. That stat line will show top 3 in all def categories. But as you mention with the season going on it will only get better. Also implementing Vince Williams back in with GG will add another layer of defense since Vince is one of their top 3 defensive players overall.

I also think the fact that everyone is getting substantial minutes helps Ja to give out more effort on the defensive end. Usually superstars are playing 35 to 38 mins a game, but Ja is averaging around 28 mins a game, so is Bane and JJJ. This allows them to exert more effort defensively, since they wont always have that extra 5 to 10 minute load on their bodies every game. This will also keep them fresher later down in the season while also giving the young grizzlies bench more minutes to get more experience, develop their own skills and improve even more, which improves the overall team. I hope they stay healthy from now till the end of the season and throughout the playoffs because they deserve a playoff run fully fit

The key to their success is that they 3 game set. The frist is with all the stars and ja in the line up, we have seen these against boston and will be more common in rough games. The second, the starters without ja, this is used when ja is injured or to give him some rest. The third is with the bench as starter (pipen, wells, huff, laravia, santi) used when all starters are injured or against wizards or blazzers. The magic is that all of these line ups work. Its a deep team indeed

Grizz fan here. Really great breakdown! While our offense has been lethal so far this season, it really starts for us on defense. It’s always been Jenkins calling card. Coming into the season, he challenged Ja to take the next step on defense, and Ja has rose to the occasion. His individual defensive effort is at a level we hadn’t seen before, and the rest of the team has followed his lead. Jaren (and Edey) will always be staples for us defensively, but Ja taking pride on defense really elevates both the floor and the ceiling for us on that end. Looking forward to your future grizz breakdowns!

He picks up his dribble often because he ends up dribbling too much. Kyrie weakness is his inability to involve other teammates until it’s too late. He’s a shoot first dribble 2k type player and pass within the last 5 seconds and I’m a fan of his

Amen is a problem for the league. His length, paired with his athleticism, is a nightmare defensively. Unlike Ben Simmons, Amen is a decent FT shooter and isn’t afraid to shoot the 3s if left open. His mid range jumper has drastically improved since his 1st year. His court vision, ability to make any types of passes, and cutting ability make him a constant threat on offense. As he improves his jumper and polish out his ball handling, he is a superstar in the making. He definitely has the highest and brightest potential on the Rockets
