my phone is charging but nothing is showing up in my windows 7 pc. Device manager shows no portable devices. Tried connecting to another phone as well as tablet with the same cable and the PC connects with those devices. So i don't know why my phone is charging but recognised in pc

My USB cable was the problem, some cables only support charging. Use a different cable.

I got as far as enable USB debugging (newer android) but that last menu, USB debugging security settings.. can't find it.

Didn't work - got to the USB debugging screeen. Clicked box for transfer files. Still doesn't show up on laptop.

I have a problem that I can’t connect my MI 8 to my PC, and yes, the cable has nothing to do with it, other devices are connected via the same cables (yes, I bought a lot of original ones),but not my MI 8, I even recently sent it in for repair to replace the type C port and the technician on the PC was able to immediately connect it without any problems, on my PC I even changed the OS, tried it on windows 10, 11 Linux Ubuntu and nobara linux

After becoming 'a developer' I had to search for 'developer options'. Then clicked 'USB debugging'. Then it automatically connected to my laptop giving my connection options on a little window in the left hand bottom corner. I followed the options and it connected!! Hooray!!

My pc still wont show the phone.
