Very honest assessment by David. Personally, I believe Paul McCartney has recorded some real classics but he's hurt his legacy by recording some real drivel! You see, within the framework of The Beatles, Paul only had to come up with a Single and six songs per album with help from John and George and Ringo and as a solo artist he had to come up with a Single and a whole album! So, McCartney would put in a lot of sub standard material.
