CSX had 52 D9's 11 of them retired or sold off. So 41 D9's out of the thousands of loco's. D9's approximately 1-2% of the fleet at this point.

@@mikestrainsthings... i've just noticed that NS 8103 was seen in Oconomowoc WI earlier this morning on CPKC 540 to NS in Chicago IL so i think the power might get spun around somewhere because the CP unit will have to Trail because of Cab Signals if goes on NS 6E4 or NS 6K4?

It's rare the run wb in the mornings I've only seen it a handful of times over the past 2.5 yrs. It should leave 12/11 I hope its morning daylight too

From what I was told last year from a CR employee it was a success, so i would expect it to be back this year, probably going to have 8098 again not sure about 1976

this was a time when amtrak was testing them as cab cars. I believe there were too many problems with them so not sure what the future holds

@@jakejackle9125 they would get power from the lead electric loco. The conversion from loco to cab car wasn't up to par and the program was halted.

It's the phase 3 paint scheme probably debut sometime in the late 70's early 80's

Nice If I remember correctly, M404 came before these two and blocked all of piscataway with their 700 axle plus train it took forever to get from zieglers over to here

by us standards they don't get much faster, also that's how they advertise these trains. Once completed California new line & brightlines vegas to LA line will over take as the fastest in the country
