    If that is the heart’s pressure relief valve, and frankly it looks exactly like one ( engineer here ), I wonder what the research says about the longevity of people ,post successful op, doing mild exercise vs those prolonged or high aerobic one. And especially occurrence of leaky heart valves . Cause the way I see it. Without that valve pressure, you are in a position where you got to treat your body as if it’s an older petrol engine. Sure it runs well, but you can’t push it too hard anymore as it won’t be able to take it,and decompression will occur .

    I wish that my cardiac catheter ablation was populated this sparsely. There must have been between eight and 12 people in the lab counting the people behind the glass at one time.

    Yes, it traps a blood clot but what dissolves the clot afterward without a blood thinner?

    • @gefiltafish2187
      @gefiltafish2187 4 месяца назад

      It doesn’t trap them. The device shuts an area in the heart that is THE cause for major clots. Especially if you suffer from Arterial defibrillation. (As AD combined with that appendage is a sure recipe for such clots ). However it does not fix AD nor stop it or any other condition. And clots may still happen. Actually tiny clots happen all the time, and are dissolved as they are tiny enough. You are spared from taking the” heavy duty “ blood thinners which are a risk on their own (not a common knowledge btw but to get you going look for blood thinner’s interaction with kidney and kidney ANR if im not mistaken), and stick to the easy thinners like aspirin mainly . But thinners you will need . I am not familiar with all conditions requiring a watchmen , but I can tell you as AD goes, that you may still need a pacemaker, and to fully stop the AD there will be , if your body can take it, ablation Procedures, where they try and cauterize the problematic pathways that cause the AD.

    This may be fine. However, doing a Wolfe minimaze or similar, seems so much simpler. Fixing from the outside with minimal invasion seems more sure.

    What if the patient is highly intolerant of blood thinners??? I went through 7 blood thinners with horrible itching all over my body!!Can a Watchman be placed without the patient taking blood thinners?

    Thank you, I have stents in both of my main arteries that may be blocked. I was admitted due to severe dizziness, mild chess pain, with chest pressure, and close to passing out. This was maybe two and a half year ago. While in the hospital that night, I was shown the results of my Echocardiogram. I was told that the flow was not sufficient, plus one was less than the other. No stress or any other tests were taken. Made to feel that this was an emergency (although I was feeling a lot better) I was told I needed something called a stent. What the hell, they know what they’re talking about?? After viewing your video, I now realize that nothing whatsoever was explained. Other than what they wanted me to know, accompanied with some additional fear put into an old man. No I’m not a genius, but even if I was Vanderbilt treats patients quite the opposite. Trained as an A&P FAA licensed in 81, now 77, I understood 99% everything each one of you said, even the equipment. I’m not quite sure that I like the idea of expanding a stent embedded in scar tissue. I’ve had Melanoma, and 40/50 MOHS surgery’s in the past seven years or so, and am well aware that when you cut the body more than once in the same area, the scar tissue increases quite significantly, and that scares me. I see that there’s a lot of IQ in that room, but guess what, I’m pretty sure that I could sit down with each one of you and talk for hours. The result being, afterwards both my health and my “will to live” which I no longer have, would increase. Wish you guys were here in Nashville! Thanks, RP.

      @lkascrammers3236 - Thank you for commenting. May I ask: Do you already have a pacemaker implanted? Is there another procedure planned after you finish the 3 months with the Zoll vest?

    Nice chill interview Dr. Chadi! Your guest, Dr. Sutton, did a great job answering your questions with all honesty and transparency- she was being herself. She struck a chord when she mentioned that sometimes her job doesn't feel like a job because she enjoys it, and her family adapted to her being busy "they don't know any better" lol....that's me!! Loved her perspective and dedication. Thank you both for this nice video:)
