The bells of Gloucester S. Nicholas
This church is in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust and the tower contains a ring of 6, tenor 14cwt in F#. Ringing is currently restricted but after an inspection by Matthew Higby, permission was obtained from the CCT to ring on St. Nicholas day, December 6th.
Bells 1-5 swing EW and the tenor NS. The treble hangs in a rider frame at a higher level than the other 5. All the bells are on plain bearings with peg and latchet stays apart from bells 1 and 4 which are on ball bearings with traditional stays.
There is also a large internal timber "tower" to support the bell frame from below. This has low beams which makes getting from one side of the ringing chamber to the other awkward.

Strensham church bell tower hosted some visitors from Devon who demonstrated their style of ringing known as "call changes". The standard of striking (the ryhthm) was excellent and it was a real pleasure to listen to the ringing.

Here is a short video of the newly augmented ring of bells at Strensham. The two extra bells were obtained from the Keltek Trust.and hung by local labour under the supervision of Matthew Higby.

Hilarious activity on the peregrine nesting tray at Tewkesbury Abbey. The adult female brings prey which is stolen by the female chick. Mum had great fun getting it back so that she could share it between the two chicks!

2018 was the first year that peregrine falcons had bred on the tower at Tewkesbury Abbey. This video shows courtship, eggs, the one surviving chick being fed and the chick's ringing. Starring Christopher Robin as Dad, Bella as Mum and Paddington as the chick. Filmed and edited by Ann Ross and Norman Bevan.

Second, third, thith & tenor with no stays!!
Incredible to see these in the belfry!
Treble is john baker 2nd and 3rd roger purdue old bells 4th is robert hendly also a old bell 5th is bristol foundry and tenor 15cwts abraham rudhall intresting how there are no stays on the other bells and only on the treble and 5th

What is the tenor weight. They are nice sounding bells . So would Liveroppl be if the place didn't have crap acoustics.

How on earth did you get bells of that weight up that quickly? Are they on giant wheels?
The veronese system have similar size wheels to ours, just the bells are slightly more counterbalanced allowing you to ring them up faster. Also these are just fairly small as rings in the area go
@RingerLuca651 ahh but that tenor sounds atleast 13cwt which would take considerably more time on an English bell

Yes. This is the Whittingtons peal which you start from 1275346 and bring each bell to the back in that order.
Interesting to see how the frame is installed, unusual.
