Postcard from Jekyll Island
We are enjoying a trip along the Georgia coast and thought I'd share a quick glimpse of one of our favorite places--Jekyll Island. Fall is the perfect time to enjoy the great bike trail around the island.

Can We Keep Going? Unexpected Problems in Central California
Просмотров 25928 дней назад
One day of our trip to California was unforgettable. For some positive reasons visiting the elephant seal rookery at Piedras Blancas while the pups were still nursing and the huge bulls were fighting to keep rivals away. And a visit to a Monarch Grove at Pismo Beach and dinner on the beach at Fin's Seafood. Not to mention a night at beautiful Rocky Creek Cellars in Templeton. But the main reaso...
Dreamy California : San Diego to San Clemente
Просмотров 420Месяц назад
After Randy and I met in San Diego, it was time to enjoy our time in Southern California. We'd been to San Diego before, but only as a staging ground for a fantastic three-week road trip down the Baja peninsula. On that trip, San Diego felt like everything comfortable and easy about the US captured in one idyllic spot. On this trip, we were able to see the texture of different areas. We were de...
I Made It! 2300 Miles! USA Solo Roadtrip: Ep. 4 Arizona and California

The dogs and I arrive in California and meet Randy in San Diego! But first we have two nights in Arizona at Harvest Hosts. The first was at an amazing place: Forever Home Donkey Sanctuary in Benson, Arizona. It was fun to spend time with such interesting animals. This place also gave me time and space to work on my skills reversing with a trailer; a skill which I was about to need. Dirty South ...
Will I Make It? USA Solo Roadtrip Ep. 3: Texas and New Mexico

So much went wrong, but I was too far from home to just give up! Besides, Randy was going to meet me in 4 days in San Diego, so I really wanted to keep going. I left Caddo Lake State Park in the rain with empty water tanks and dead batteries. My next night was at the lovely and peaceful Harvest Host, Legendary Alpacas in Maypearl, Tx. The owner had had a stressful day and so had I, so we agreed...
USA Solo Roadtrip Episode 2: Natchez, MS to Caddo Lake, Tx

On my roadtrip across the US, I crossed the Mississippi River at Natchez. Although I had hoped to work on videos as I went and make more of a real-time record, that didn't work out. So, Randy and I sat down six months after the trip and reflected back on my visit to Natchez, MS and Caddo Lake, Tx. It was only day 2, but I was already realizing that my idealized version of this roadtrip as a tim...
USA Roadtrip 2024: Episode 1 Atlanta to Alabama

The first 300 miles of my cross country solo road trip! The dogs and I set off January 2, 2024 to spend 10 days crossing the country to get to San Diego. We were camping every night in our Lance 1985 travel trailer. The plan for day one was to see Montgomery and Selma before arriving at the Corps of Engineers campground at Foscoe Creek Park in Demopolis, Alabama. Unfortunately I thought I had l...
Miami to St. Augustine: Places to be Thankful part 3

Florida's oldest city, the remnants of small town Central Florida and a surprisingly agricultural stop in Miami combined to make an eclectic trip from the southern tip of the state to the northern corner. Randy was in Miami for work while I was camping at Myakka River State Park so I headed that way after his meetings were over. We stayed at a Harvest Host, Tinez Farms, where the people were al...
Places to be Thankful, Part 2 : Myakka River State Park

Myakka River State Park may be the best place to see natural Florida. The Everglades is larger and more remote, but, at 37,000 acres, Myakka River SP is large enough to support a thriving natural area just a short drive from the delights of Sarasota. At Myakka River, you don't have to work hard to see wild creatures. While you can hike and paddle to your heart's content there, you can also just...

Thanksgiving 2023 didn't turn out like we'd hoped. We weren't able to get the extended family together like we're used to, so we planned a 2-week camping trip instead. We'd be able to see quite a few members of our families over the holiday period just not all at the same time. This trip gave me a chance to practice solo camping, too. In this video I more or less successfully start out on my ow...
In Which I Learn to Camp
Просмотров 2017 месяцев назад
Randy has always been the one who manages travel in the RV. I haven't wanted to learn anything about how to do it. BUT when I hatched a plan to drive the dogs out to see our daughter across the country, we realized that we could never make that work with Randy's schedule. If we were going to do that, I would need to learn how to camp on my own. That motivated me to start learning. Along the way...
Our Top 5 Things We Love in Uruguay!

We've been home for six months, and we've finally been able to process our thoughts and feelings about our trip. We've talked a lot about what we really loved and what we hope to do if we get back to Uruguay, so I thought I'd share that too.
Montevideo--Our Last 36 Hours in Uruguay

Although we only got a small taste of what the Old Town offers, we had a great stay at FAUNA Montevideo, enjoyed a couple of great meals at Escondite and Sometimes Sunday, and had fun at Capicua Distillery. We walked through the Port Market (Mercado del Puerto) and around Plaza Independencia, but our lunch in Carrasco was interrupted by a crisis at home.
Beach Towns in Uruguay!

Toward the end of our trip to Uruguay in September 2023, we spent a couple of days exploring the coast around José Ignacio and Punta del Este. It was early spring so the weather was not the best for walking on the beach, but we still loved the places we saw. We stayed at Rizoma, a cool boutique hotel about 2 km from the beach in José Ignacio. The hotel only had four rooms, and was attached to a...
48 Hours in Southern Uruguay

Join us in the most peaceful place we've ever been. We spent 36 hours at Estancia El Ceibo listening to birds, learning about the culture of Uruguay and trying our best to have conversations in Spanish! Oh, and getting to know a little about sheep. We enjoyed good company and wonderful, gluten-free food. (We did let them know ahead of time about the need for gf food.) If you like to see new bir...

Hello mam, I hope you're doing well. I'm excited to work on optimizing your RUclips channel. Could you share your goals and what you'd like to achieve?
Dang, so sorry you had that happen to you. Take it from this cowgirl who has spent the past 30 years pulling heavy livestock trailers over mountain passes, you can't go wrong with a 3/4 ton. I pulled for years with my 3/4 ton ford gas, my husband has the 1 ton diesel ford that we put our huge cabover camper on AND pull a trailer. Glad you went bigger!!
Thank you! We are enjoying our Ram that's for sure.
Superr 😊
Thanks!
Thanks for the ride along very pretty...😎
Beautiful remote areas. Love Mikey the lizard.
I was in Uruguay in 2001. Very nice place. I would like to return but so far away.
It is for me too. If I get to go again, I really hope I can stay at least 2 weeks.
You got our essence figured out. Relaxing and not fake.
Thank you! I'm glad to hear that.
I was in Montevideo for 5 days in 1965 on my way to Antarctica. It struck me as a beautiful and wonderfully old fashioned city. At the docks is the anchor of the Graf Spee sunk by the RN in the famous Battle of the River Plate. Over the years I resolved many times to return but never made it. Thank you for this wee glimpse of Montevideo today.
The good old days…now is decadent.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I hope to follow your in your footsteps to Antarctica someday...
like any city in the world @@josari7618

Wonderful trip 😊
Yes! It really was!
Great video. Loved it!
I love this. And that rainbow.
Beautiful
Was this, this year? Are there still pandemic measures in place? We're traveling there in 1 month.
I'm sorry for my late reply! I hope you had a great trip. We were there in 2021 when there were still some pandemic measures in place.
@@maybeweshouldtravel no worries! We had a blast!
