Too many professionals on here just because they look at all the RUclips videos. You did a great job on your stairs. Thanks for the video.
Working in mm instead of inches is far more intricate and reduces the chances of mistakes in calculations.
What a transformation looks so good.
I like how you glue it with the pad not removed from the buttom of planks😅😅😅
lol shit product. Good luck getting it to engage when you’re close to a door frame underneath it
I didn’t know that the vinyl pieces could bend like that when they get installed
Why are you worried about leaving an expansion joint your gluing everything so it doesn’t move! ? lol
I hate edge caps/bull nose whatevers. We have those on our stairs from when we bought our house. One was cracked and broken when we bought it and few more have already broken, too. Horrible product.
1 plank on a.stair isn’t gonna expand
Video content 👍 Vertical video format 👎
Do you have any liner on under the planks?
All I can say is wow , and that's not on a good way sorry to say
You can take another board and use it as a cheater. Butt it up to the gap and run it on top of another board with a marker. and the lock will give you your expansion gap. I never use tape measures on things like that and you get way more accurate cuts
Luckily they didn't glue anything down. Unfortunately you didn't return the favor.
He did alot of things wrong. Don't install your stair like he did.
Dont go down in socks, you'll break y ourneck
What till the roaches move in
Overlapping Stare nose What perfect speed bumps. Nice
Where's your stare wizard?
I'm the stair king in my county. Start at the bottom and work up the riser should sit on the tread. I don't use any nail either. Sika pro adhesive, and a commercial flooring hot melt gun . Never use that worthless track it comes with. Also use a stair stencil to get risers and treads to fit perfect. Very little caulk need. Nothing to hide. The hot glue will avoid you using tape that doesn't hold the entire lip of the nosing flush. Not criticizing your work. Job looks good. Just throwing out some elite knowledge. I've installed stairs for 21 yrs. Also depending on the product you will need to add a bead of adhesive directly behind the nosing otherwise you will have squeaks everytime you Walk up and down the steps. There isn't any need for expansion on stairs. Only the landing
Stair king, at 60 w/ 45 yrs in, 1/2 of that comment is BS. the industry has obviously taught you some bad habits and some that are just not true. starting from the bottom, risers go first and glue and screws (in the old days, box nails) from the back into the rear of the tread is correct. It put the joint straight down instead of straight in, which at some point will be at eye level. thats #1.
hey do you have any videos to demonstrate all of this good advice please?
Does anyone know what is the brand name of the stair product he is installing and where to buy?
What is the brand name of the stair product your installing and where to buy?
You vould cover the gapswith quarter round on the edge with riser
A 1/4 inch subtracted from 2 5/8 is 2 3/8 !!!!
Finally. I was hoping someone caught that too
Can you say rubber mallet
We make videos but we do not respond
No need to worry about leaving an expansion gap if you glue the planks down.
Ignore the negative comments looks great
Nosings are not secured to the bullnose with fasteners (Headless pin). They will come out over time (Even trip hazard). Landing planks are not glued to the subfloor. They will squick and make noise. Overall poor job, I hope you are not a professional floor layer.
Have you had issues with adhesion when leaving the padding on and if you're using a glue or sealant, won't that affect expansion? Oh last question. Does vinyl need room for expansion? Thanks! I enjoyed t he video.
I have those steps. Hurts to walk on it by barefoot.
Why, cause they're so pretty and you leave foot smugs?
It looks good but why not get pine or oak stairs then stain to match? I would only use the bullnose on top floor.
I knew this was gonna be bad the moment I saw someone taking up carpet from the bottom up instead of pulling it down from the top lol
Worst stair parts install I've seen in almost 50 years. I hope I didn't upset the RUclips police.
Slip slidin awayyyyyyy
Won’t this slide around on a standard floor?
Awesome job!
You had the ability to make everything square. You clearly do not know how to build plum level square.
How can I get the materials please please
Your stairs look great! Question: Why does vinyl plank flooring have to be installed to "float" but stairs can be glued down?
Much smaller runs and less material to expand
The music is annoying
There is no way you can flex that tile like they show in the video.
I think the overlapping stair noses are terrible...they squeak and click all over the place. Honestly, the flush stair nose is the ONLY way to go. I've learned this the hard way in our first home. I will forever remember how disappointed I was every time I stepped on those cheap feeling overlap stair noses. The only overlap stair nose that should be used the the very top of the stairs only to allow for movement if there is flooding upstairs also.
Do you do the same on the top landing step
The end result is stunning! Great job.
Makes me want to do my stairs.
What's the website? Where to buy?
Lol this is just wrong
Looks great! If treads are glued down, what exactly can expand?
Can you please let me know what color your flooring is, would love to find this flooring for our upstairs.
