    Ireland is one of the most notorious examples of "ethnic cleansing". That country is probably the only one in the world that has fewer people in it today than in 1844. This was no accident but was rather the result of deliberate policy by the British colonial overlords in Ireland.

    During the COVID-19 pandemic, Irish citizens donated over $1 million to Native American tribes, like the Navajo Nation and Hopi Reservation, as a gesture of gratitude for the Choctaw Nation's $170 donation during the Great Irish Famine in 1847. This beautiful act of kindness shows how the bonds of empathy and solidarity can endure through history. 🌍❤

    Your professors are lying or ignorant nearly 100% of the time. Start with the opposite of what they say as a starting point to find and research only original sources. They are funded by ideologues, and relentlessly hunt down and stifle truth as a show of fealty so they can survive within the closing sliver of acceptable narratives. It's all about publishing and tenure, then about crushing down the nails that stand up. The bad news is that it's going to get much, much worse. We're being shoved into the Dark Ages by "the experts". Best of luck.

    History is like a jigsaw puzzle except we don't have the picture on the box and we don't know how many pieces there are. The bigger picture emerges only as we put pieces together. The more sections we assemble the more addictive the process becomes. It is much easier to find agreement on WHAT happened than on WHY it happened. My advice: 1. Make and use timelines. Collect data points and overlay them. Like you are trying to solve a crime; look for means, motive and opportunity. Look for events which trigger changes. 2. Avoid claims like "was first to", "discovered" or "invented" as they are seldom true and over-simplify. Far better to find the continuums. 3. Read sources that disagree, especially when sources are nationalistic. Beware of strawman arguments -- get the objections and counter arguments directly from those who hold the opposing views. 4. We are lucky to be living in the age when primary sources are available and revered. Use them. 5. Trust nothing that Shakespeare "biographers" assert until you look at some primary sources. The Shakespeare myth was coined in 1769, right before History transitioned from Literature to Science (the 19th century) and it is heavily rooted in the methods that resist logic and evidence. It is a clear example of an area of history where the looseness of Literature still dominates and they defend their myths from historians, lawyers and other academic disciplines via ad homs and appeals to authority rather than engaging with the primary sources like Henslowe's diary and the Stationer's Register.

      @@AndrewTate2Prison well, I think it described as an open air prison with blockades on all sides, walls, and the control of energy, internet, water, imports, and so on sort of does fit that category from a technical standpoint but I think what you're saying is we don't use concentration camp as a sort of jail, we use it as a death camp. Is that where the issue is or? Like, conceptually, we associate concentration camp with the holocaust though it was not exclusively the center for extermination (like death camps). As for the from the river to the sea, that's another one for the semantics debate. Israelis say that to wipe out Palestinians. Palestinians say it for that same reason on the other side. Others use it to call for the liberation of occupation of Gaza and the land returned in West Bank. What the phrase means depends on the one using it but I agree with what you say on it not being too helpful--but that depends on (again) who is saying it, what they mean by it, how it is interpreted, and what the audience knows. If the audience knew more, maybe they'd see the ambiguity...

I still feel absolute solidarity with the plight of jews throughout European history and later found out that in the u.s it wasn't much better. The tragedy of Israel, land where jews should find peace, seem to follow the nazi script is almost beyond comprehension. Shame on Israel and shame on the u.s and other countries supporting this genocide.

    What a lot of nonsense woven to give a cover for the Rothschildian project. Palestine was fully developed by its native inhabitants, whereas the modes of production of the natives in America in general didn't permit that. The latter was reflected in the far lower population density of North America.

    • @jonghistory
      @jonghistory Месяц назад

      I see. So you think they're not comparable (as he describes it) due to the difference in development and population density? The Americas had a huge population, and the concept of development is a relative one... I'm sure many of the indigenous peoples had fine lives until occupied and over the course of time put into prisoner of war camps. Norm admits at the start that there's ways to see it and it isn't a perfect comparison, but I'd be curious to read what you mean exactly about it being nonsense.

    • @trackdusty
      @trackdusty Месяц назад

      @@jonghistory Hard to add to what I've already said. Economic damage is a key to the impact of any "invasion-settlement". After the impacts of the initial conquest there were great gains for the natives of North America due to the advanced economics (forms of Capitalism) brought by the settlers. This was far less so in the case of Palestine. I've forgotten the anti-Zionist French Jew who said that there wasn't anything substantial in Palestine after the Jewish conquest that wasn't already put there by the conquered. If we look at the economic impact of the Asiatic barbarian invasions of Europe, all that was 'achieved' economically was rape and pillage followed by a long period which led to a reverse of what happened in North America: the assimilation of the barbarian into the superior ecoomy of the 'conquered'.

    • @jonghistory
      @jonghistory Месяц назад

      @@trackdusty I think I couldn't disagree more on colonists creating this great economy for the indigenous. They did, in fact, bring rape, and genocide to those people. Nations were destroyed. That is advanced. That is barbarous. The population today is almost gone and maybe half in prisoner of war camps still. Even today, our economy races towards destruction. Unhealthy consumer culture...Building of weapons that will destroy us, and others. We ruin the environment and animal populations. We hurt our own people with chemicals... or others if we can save costs from regulations. I think your interpretation of what was set up in North America is beyond generous. Why look so harshly at the other colonizing ventures but so kindly at those in the US and North America?

    • @trackdusty
      @trackdusty Месяц назад

      @@jonghistory "Why look so harshly at the other colonizing ventures but so kindly at those in the US and North America?" Because I haven't here written an essay on the subject. In brief: in most of these Western ventures (probably least of all with that of Rothschildia-Israel), there were great gains for the indigenous in cultural (including economic) advances, enjoyed to this day but very problematically so, had not European settlement occurred. The violent downside (where it actually occurred rather than being grossly exaggerated by previous, far from charitable ruling elites) was largely incidental to the complete colonizing experience. This justification is very similar to that which one can make of Capitalism as a social order in the Western nations and its replacement of the previous social order. BTW, Israeli and other Jews are learning fast that being used by their elites as a cover in return for sundry other benefits has its downsides. BTW, you really ought to take off that black armband ('vale of tears') and try to look at history more realistically.

      Thank you. I'll check him out. I have a big list at the moment and should be meeting with five more scholars in the next month or so. I don't have too many free blocks of time though until late May and early June, FYI. Thank you for the suggestion.

    @hugolindum7728 *In the very first place, perhaps should you learn not to mistake Prof. Chomsky's life-long claimed "anarchism" for "communism"... 🙄

    If Chomsky weren’t a communist and had the first idea about economics, he would understand that advertising has many roles, including informing consumers about innovation. However, advertising increases demand. Without it there’d be less demand, less production and more unemployment. Chomsky should stick to what he’s qualified in - linguistics.

      I think he would say (because he does say this) we can work for what is needed rather than the unhealthy consumer culture of buying things we don't need. With the wealth, technology, innovation, efficiency, and ability to mass produce... one wouldn't need to work two to four jobs and would be able to work less, make more, and gain more. This is what we've seen just over a hundred years ago during the labor movement as the 11, and 9, and 8 hour work day were fought for. He doesn't like the dishonesty and preying of advertising. It doesn't inform--he does a talk on this. He'd say informed consumption would give you the details of pros, cons, competition, itemized prices to see their profit, and so on. He says they have trucks do tricks with models and football stars. Is he wrong?
