Yeah this might be the best album I’ve heard in like 3 years, going back to maybe Ants From up There by Black country new road. Its unbelievably good and it just gets better with every listen. 10/10
I really think it might be a 10. Solid 9.5 for me right now.

Lithonia is just a beautiful song to me. Just yesterday, it became the first song I have ever cried to (as far as I can remember). So imagine my shock when I'm looking up BS&TNW reviews and this one channel (not gonna say who, no, it's not Fantano) said Glover's performance on songs like Lithonia or Running Around were "not poor, not stellar (so basically mid)" and "plastic". Like, I know opinions are subjective, but that really took me aback. Anywho, I thought this was a great reaction vid, this album is an 8 to a 9 out of 10 for me, and my top 5 are Lithonia, Cruisin' (this one made me cry too), A Place Where Love Goes, Survive and Running Around.
Could you look into some Griselda projects like Pray for Paris or HWH 8? It’s much different rap but really cool
I’ve listened to pray for Paris and pray for me. Haven’t checked out any HWH yet, but I enjoy WSG so I’ll definitely give it a listen
Life altering song
A place where love goes is my one and only that surprised me. And it is so hard to surprise me musically.

She say, he say is the exact same verse from different perspectives. 1st verse was mom talking to the father and the second verse is the son talking to the father. Listen to it with that in mind and it hits harder.
Yeah, that’s probably my favorite off the album. Once I learned that a while back it made it sound like a whole new song. Lupe is just on another level.
Crazy you weren't feeling The Cool, Kick Push 2 and the 2nd half. The 2nd half of the album might be my favorite! Lol dope reaction overall, glad you're digging Lupe!
I love the whole thing now. One of my favorite projects ever. It grew on me within like 2 listens, don’t know what I was on when I first heard some of those songs
@bestreviewmusic all good fam! Crazy how time flies, I was 16 when that record came out. It was my generation's version of Illmatic/ Reasonable Doubt, so ahead of it's time and yet timeless. I'll be looking forward to other reviews, keep it up!

I’ve listened to them all before I started up the channel. Love all of them. Offline is in my top 3 oat. I haven’t listened to any Devon Hendryx though, maybe will do some videos of that
@@bestreviewmusic I can tell you all the Devon hendryx shit is pretty cool and you see how he has evolved. Start from the start. I still play Dreamcast Summer Songs, JoeChillWorld, and The Rockwood Escape Plan almost every day I’m at work.

Lupe is so saturated & layered for the average listener. If you listen to "The Instrumental" from the standpoint of society being addicted to Social media & Television.....it makes that much more sense. Especially in 2024.

@bestreviewmusic fair enough, Lupe is like that. But I have to say I immediately fell in love with Palaces and Til Eternity. Bigfoot and Outside caught up soon. Those last 5 songs are one hell of a stretch. Maybe last 6 are on par with the last 6 of Drogas Wave.
I think you'll find Lupe's albums, and songs too, have a tendency to grow on people as you digest it more. Once you understand it's influences and hidden nuances. Theres a lot of backpack type rap all over this album, and performance wise I think it's one his best. Even if he has better flows here and there, this one pays homage to a lot of 90s rappers in the underground scene. I don't think you'll like Light on your first listen, but if you know they are throwaway songs mostly its just for fun and to get out of his contract. I rate F&L2 one album above it, but its still fun. His mixtapes are all better than those + lasers. Lasers is his worst album I've decided but it was the label fault.
Kendrick Lamar is wack. Lupe is not trippin. Hes the greatest wordsmith ever. Drake is a better spitter than Ducky. Lupe is smart enough and honest enough to say that.
I gotta disagree there. Drake definitely has some good songs, and some very good verses too, but Kendrick is consistently great with the pen. Lupe is obviously better at writing, but I really do think that Kendrick is what Lupe would’ve been if he had gotten more recognition back in the day.
@bestreviewmusic you're WILIN!! Kendrick is so wack with the pen. Literally every single album. Every song. Every verse. You can find examples of him using words incorrectly that don't make sense for what he's trying to say. Or don't even rhyme. You can tell he tries too hard to be smart but he isn't smart so he just can't put it together. He doesn't have not one perfect verse. Let alone come close to the body of work of Lupe. Anything he's ever tried to say, Lupe already did 10 years ago and perfectly with no mistakes and more creatively. At least Drake rhymes. He has bars, punchlines, word play. Kendrick had none of that.
@@runegeezycrazy take tbh. I've been a Lupe fan since his mixtapes and I've been a Kendrick fan since his mixtapes too. Always hated drake.
@@chairwood its not a crazy take. Im 39 years old. Ive been listening to hip-hop since the late 80s. Ive heard ALL of it. I know what elite lyricism sounds like. Kendrick doesnt have it. So to me, for someone with little talent and no bars calls himself the best, I feel that that's absolutely, beyond a shadow of a doubt, WACK. Period.
@@runegeezy can you give me some songs that u think exemplify Drake's ability? I heard one song on an early project by him that impressed me but in general his stuff seems extremely superficial to me. edit: the early project song I was talking about was "Drake - Comeback Season" He definitely ain't doing stuff like that anymore. The beat on that song is also the beat Lupe used for "Failure" which I think I can uncontroversially say blows anything drake has ever done out of the water.
I didn't like American Terrorist at first either, but it will grow on you, lyrically crazy

Rap fans made LASERS popular then flipped on it when that sound wasn't in style anymore but HIP HOP headz loved that album inspire of the production and still love it to this day. If you say it was bad, you expose yourself as a power hype east mindless sheep follower irl
Hey man, not everyone gonna like the same things. I love almost everything else Lupe has released but I truly did not enjoy lasers. I’m really glad you did and I’m glad to hear that others out there do too, it’s just not for me.

the thing that is so interesting about charli's music is how it ages. she releases an album, and without most of the mainstream realising it, the album goes on to influence pop music for years to come. i can't wait to see how this album ages and the effect it has - because lets be honest no other big artists are doing shit quite like charli right now

If you knew the mixtape era this wasn’t Lupe’s debut. He already had the streets on lock multiple mixtapes deep. Check out “Lupe the Jedi”, “1/15 Vol 1”, “1/15 Vol 2 Revenge of the nerds”. I just realized I recommended 3 mixtapes and you have no way of knowing if I’m crazy or not so back my whole recommendation up on the track “B.M.F. ‘Building Minds Faster’”

Off first reactions I generally don’t focus all on lyrics, I just try to enjoy the songs and if I pick up on some lyrics I’ll say something. I have listened to it more over the past day and I love that song.
