@@Cr33pingdeath It's still a good board! At least the double shot PBTs are true 100% PBTs, i can attest to that. My family member dailies this exact leopold for work for the past few years - zero shine on the keycaps. The board is still a solid and reliable workhorse that won't disappoint

I'm also was looking for silent tom, so now I cannot decide between three of them actually, or maybe you can give me your kind of variant, it would be better if switches are silent but not muted, I need to feel clearly while I press key, doesn't matter sound since I play in headphones with music on so I can't hear it at all but my wife yelling at me while I'm night gaming so that's why I'm looking for silent ones

I even found there's silent lime v2 and silent cream yellow pro and pro v2 version exists, my decision is making harder during I'm trying to find more information about them 😢😢😢😢😢😢

I think there have been newer versions of the silent cream yellows out there like the pro versions you mentioned, I think you can't go wrong with them. Bear in mind that for silent tactiles, most of the time the leaf noises would be much more audible, because of the silent nature of these switches. I think you wouldn't go wrong with those. As for the switches featured in this video, the silent toms aren't really something i'd recommend because of the louder top out noise and the rattley sound it makes - it sounds cheaper and less quiet.

@@erose5116 yea ironically these are quite decent to type on! Actually it's harder to "fat finger" and mistype because of the convex nature of these keycaps. Although you'll probably need to get use to it for a while to feel the benefits, because of muscle memory

Please do so! The sound benefits it gains is worth the hassle in my opinion - helps to make the Mr Suit a very capable foamless board. My build is configured to be stiff (Non-flexcut alu plate + non-flexcut 1.6mm pcb) so it's not flexy. You should probably get some flex out of this with a PC / POM plate instead, especially with the 1.2mm pcb.

Yea it looks much more "3-dimensional" instead of flat looking with the white powder coat. The powdercoat was already too far gone and was flaking every time i pick the board up, so it had to go. Nope, no clear coat on this. the factory that did this polishing job tried clear coating once on another RAW alu project, it didn't really hold on well.

I actually paid some factory to do so locally, it was through a friend's referral :)

Yes, this can be used with any MX style mechanical keyboard (which is very common nowadays). If you have one of those HE keyboards with crossed shaped stem, these could fit too

Yea, it's a really cute combination! All parts are sourced from taobao, but you should be able to find them in ecommerce sites like Aliexpress. I had to buy those keycaps, switches and the keyboard kit separately! It's a hotswap board, so just push in the switches and keycaps and you're good to go

Unironically they are comfy to type on - you can pick up which keys you fat-fingered on and micro-correct it on the fly.

I still prefer the SW v2 over these just because they sounded a bit "brighter" with the Y3 stems, but a softer top out imo because of the LY top housing material. either way, these are decent switches! just need to cherry pick for alphas / spacebar as some of them do exhibit minute leaf noises

Nope, haven't tried them yet so I can't comment. However, on specs alone, they seemed to be re-colored Geon x Sarokeys BSUN SW V2

These LY Stems pair very well especially if the board is prone to resonance. The soft sounding yet firm bottom out that's not ear piercing is great for dailying ngl

If it's your first board then it should fit the bill just fine! If you ever want to upgrade, there's much better options nowadays - this review video is dated.

Thanks! I use a Fifine T669 on a desk clamp mic arm. I used to do -1db normalisation however i stopped since i feel it makes the board sound unnatural. Now it's just +5dB gain and that's it

As always, take any sound tests with a grain of salt, my room acoustics / microphone type, microphone recording distance, micrphone mounting method, Desk material, desk thickness, may have a play in how the board sounds in this video. But yes: 1) PET / PE Foam do amplify the sound and give it a much more punchy, marbley sound. Taking them out helps to quieten things down. If you would like to go a step further, you can take out the plate foam and just leave the case foam. 2) Yes, just put on a silent switch. Although you will definitely here some form of leaf noise, but again, depends on the switches you choose. 3) Yea, just use those stabilizer foam pads that comes included in some stabilizer kits. if you can't find, you may try using bandaid.

@@Ray.F Damn thats a lot of salt that affects sound. Can i ask a question. Does silent switch really makes the biggest difference? I always felt like the caps make the majority of the sound.

@@ahora1026 yes it does make a difference. Even though it's a "silent", switch, it's still not exactly silent.. you'll still hear some of the top / bottom housing materials , even down to how the silencing mechanism is. I do have a sound comparison of 2 silents switches with different material (OUTEMU SIlent TOMs vs OUTEMU SIlent Cream Yellows) both on the same keyboard (K8 Pro). You'll hear that the Silent Cream Yellows have a much more quieter top out sound vs the silent toms, although both switches use silicone as dampeners. No, it does not feel like an overlubed switch on bottom out. The slight mushiness that is inevitable is just the silencing silicone pads bottoming out on the bottom housing. If you want a less mushier feeling silent linear (does not use silicone to silence the bottom out), but sacrificing on being extremely quiet, then you can check out something similar to Haimu Heartbeats.
