Rugby 24™ UI
This is a “fan-made” UI concept of the upcoming Nacon / Big Ant Rugby game, coming 2023.
I decided to make this to add to my design portfolio in hope that it might catch the eye of a future employer in a relevant field (would love to work with any sports / game dev company out there!).
I have always felt the UI design (especially for Rugby games) has lacked the aesthetic needed to attract the target market. I have over 11 years of certified graphic design experience working in a range of industries and loved every second of piecing this little project together in my own time with the spare time I had (dadlife).

'Rugby Ultimate Team', going the way of FIFA and their greed. Not for me, personally. Otherwise, really nice work though. It's about time we had a playable World Cup rugby game out of the box

Looks class mate. Not wrong about Rugby game UI. Rugby 22 was particularly shocking, honestly looked like a mobile game
Be interesting to see how this one comes out!
Even for a mobile game it looked bland Heck games in the 90s had better menus

I have a question : do the ball possession still change on every ruck, or does the team that was having the ball has an advantage in rucks ?

+Justin Venter those 4, super rugby and the premiership, are whats licensed, my hope is thats one cause of this delay is that they are trying to get more licensing, but it seems unlikely, any ways that why we have the fanhub

what is different about this one and rc 2
+Justin Venter not much to be honest mate. The goal kicking mechanism has changed and there is very slight more fluidity in gameplay - then obviously there is now 7s in RC3 and "Be a Pro" mode (if you didn't know).
Hey, just wondering if the rucking mechanic has been changed up? and did you come across anything glaringly bad? Like lineouts awarded to the wrong team, as happened too often in RC2

Are the graphics actually even newer than RC2? I played the RC3 demo and the graphics are the exact same as RC2; shitty.
+Travis Allen pretty much the same as RC2 to the blind eye but it seemed a tad clearer?
What is the goal kicking mechanism like? I'm tired of that crap kicking in Rugby 15. Is it similar to RC2?

just three (I know that's a lot actually) questions that i'll preface by saying that I've only played rugby challenge and haven't played the second one: On lineouts who is the first person to receive the ball after the scrumhalf, is it the wing or the fly half Are players listed just as wings or are they listed as right wings left wings, i know the first one had the problem of only having wing as an available position yet listing people as right and left wings ON scrums is the defeding teams fullback part of the lien or are they waiting for a kick
+Alexander Cattermole 1. I believe it's the fly-half from what I can remember. 2. Can't remember but prty sure RW LW for wings. 3. Usually waiting for kick.
Did you notice any rucking penalties from the AI, as for hands in the ruck. In RC2 they would get called for the rare holding on, but hands in the ruck that was supposedly in the game was non existent in RC2. If everyone played another user then it would be impossible to know.

+Martín Calderón still the same if you mean play kicking as opposed to goal kicking. Goal kicking has changed now.

RC3 has yet to be released do you think you played the finished product??.. If not what minor changes to the game do you think Wicked Witch have made or minor cliches hopefully iron out prior to the official release.....
+Magic Heats I really couldn't tell you the answer to that. However, it felt finished to me. From my understanding trublue have been running it through Sony and Microsoft getting the A-Okay hence the delay, so I don't think much will change.

+Magic Heats To be honest no one was really manning the RC stand, there was more focus towards their rockstar game.
How is the Drive from the lineout?? can you score a try from it??And can you dive for a try before you cross the try line ??
+Tinus van Rooyen Didn't actually try that within my 10minutes of play/observation. Would be interesting to know.. Yes I dived before the line and he performed a new swan dive which was prty cool.
