Can’t beat those QD’s!
The Presto pressure cooker with a recoil starter.
Ole girl sounds good, never missed a beat
In 1973, my neighbour gave me a Martin 6. It never ran, but I took it apart, and was puzzled by the Poppet Valves that ran on a Ramp on the Crankshaft. I did think it was Neat that you could adjust the Trim Angle of the Motor with a Screw between the Transom Clamps.
Not too bad for an Engine made by a Pressure Cooker Manufacturer
What I liked about the Martins, is you adjusted the Engine Trim by twisting a Clamp Screw between the Transom Clamp Screws. Whoa, that what ever it was, as the boat went faster... for a Moment, I thought I was having a Flashback...
Nice
The porpoising is all part of the fun!

How big a boat? How much gear on board? How many people? My 86 ‘rude 25 will push a 14’ StarCraft vee with 3 people, 2 tanks & trolling motor and 2 batteries 28mph. Yours sounds good just surprised you weren’t faster.
@davemilster in my experience with them I'd say what you described is impossible. I'd start questioning the device you are using to measure the speed. If it's in mph or Kph. Then I'd start wondering if it was actually the 35hp and not the 25hp.
Wow that is Sharp i've never seen a 20 hp Martin and looks like it came off the showroom, and fast for sure .
@sailawaybob many hours in this one, ever since I saw they made a 20hp I have always wanted one. Finally not a dream! Thanks for watching 👀!
Nice! I see your using a two line tank with an adapter?
@pryan05p71 yes! All my 2 line tanks are 24:1 like this motor and all my single line tanks are 50:1 so it's easier to run a adapter. Just vent the pressure line with a fuel filter.
I prefer 50:1
@ZooRaw80 after 1963 that would be fine but not before!
@@18Stingray1 absolutely, plain journal bearings need the oil. It’s not worth the risk to the motor.
Beauty. This makes me want to start working on mine again. Great power.
Strange Bird
i believe this was made by a pressure cooker company i worked on many of these years ago
Fuck the steelers
Sounding great man! Gonna check out the rest of your channel. Cheers

The Toyota Hi Lux of outboards! They keep going ! 💪
@@volunteermaupi4809 I wouldn't compare a true blooded American outboard to a Toyota but ok.
Lovely 😍 !!!!
Where is that at?

Awesome!! Enjoyed the video thanks 👍🏻
Pure 2-stroke Nirvaa
What a lovely motor!
I had a Martin 40. Coil went and sent a letter to the address and was told they became the Presto pressure cooker co. They included a coupon for a cooker.
Actually, Presto made pressure cookers before they tried making outboard motors.
Olá este motor é um 200 HP ?
@@andrequintino7170 20hp
Nice motor, it clips as well!
I have one that is yellow. I messed up the flywheel and I’m having a really hard time finding the correct one. I have one off of an older 10hp that isn’t as heavy so the motor will not idle real low. I’ve replaced a piston, connecting rod, upper crank seal and of course the head gasket. I live in Canada and the part all came from the states… needless to say it wasn’t cheap. It runs, but only ok. You have a nice runner, thank you for sharing.
@@pryan05p71 try discount-marine-parts.com/ in Michigan for the flywheel. Thanks for watching!
was thinking about this just a few hours ago... they just dont make things like they used to.. think about it -thats a 1950s outboard still running like we the people and it purrrrs. 99.5% of the shit today is chinese throwaway bs. Wish we could return to the American Standard of built tough and to last.
that sounds good, like music.
Bang 💥
That’s a great runner
@pryan05p71 thanks for watching
i've had an old martin in my dads shed for so long now. it's in a lot of seperate peaces and a lot of peaces are missing and i have no clue if i should even try to make it work again
@wessle3233 what Martin is it? They are a fun unique outboard. Google Martin outboards and you will find the only guy that still sells parts for them, if you decide to mess with it.
Sounds nice ,amazing you can still get parts for them 😊
That thing sounds amazing!
Nice! Good shot!
Not bad! She’s got some life left in her !
😮 4 hp evenrude hand down grandpa
Cool outboard! Thanks for posting
I never see those things irl i live in the Netherlands Fryslan thats a perfect place for boating❤
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada these rare beauties I call vintage outboard motors are not really appreciated I have a 1967 Johnson outboard 85hp that was bought with a starcraft 18 ft fiberglass boat from the sears catalog still operating as I had them both completely overhauled
Doesn't get much cooler than this! Thanks for posting. Awesome outboard
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video never heard of this outboard motor my oldest outboard is a 1972 chrysler outboard motor 115hp on the back of my pontoon boat
Jo that thing is SICK! i am trying to get 6pk but only got 2 lol
Does that motor have the streamlined gearcase for top speed? What length and weight of boat?
@martyharless5097 there are 2 gearcases a fishing version like this one and a shorter race race version. 14ft boat, no idea the weight.
What a engine 😇🙏
Wow that sounds great!
That's the neatest thing I've seen in a long time! I love old engines.
