Tauriel is so inaccurate😢😅

The first half of season 5 went perfectly for me. Lena kind of walked the line between friend and foe, never truly hurting Kara while pursuing her own goals behind her back. All of that made sense, as did the fortress scene, saw that coming and I wasn't mad at it. Up until that point, Lena had every right to be as upset as she was, Kara literally acted like 2 different people around her, the trauma and betrayal from that can't be expressed enough. Even the fortress scene, I still wasn't against how Lena handled it because Katie made sure we knew Lena wasn't totally okay with the choices she made, the pain of seeing Kara trapped in kryptonite was written all over Lena's face. So again, the first half went well to me. It was everything after crisis that truly hurt the show I think, mainly because they failed to capitalize on the build up they gave us in the first half. I read am article about the original script for the second half of season 5, did you know that Lena working with Lex was originally supposed to be a ruse to get info and that Lena and Kara were secretly working together and that the plan was for their secret partnership to be revealed in 5x18 and Lena was supposed to save Kara when Rama Kahn destroyed the DEO? There is am entire storyline of Lena calling Kara after she shook Lex's hand and she tells Kara that she is working with Lex just like she worked with her mother on the alien virus. It was supposed to be a signal to Kara that Lena was on her side. They planned flashbacks that we would get to see in 5x18 and 5x19 of Lena and Kara exchanging info while keeping everyone in the dark and making it seem like they were still fighting. It was the perfect storyline that nobody would see coming and the CW made them scrap the entire plan. Apparently before the CW was sold to Discovery, they planned multiple crossovers with the other shows and instructed all the shows to keep their storylines very simple with no twists because they intended on having a season finale with all the show participating, so they couldn't have anything that messed that up. Well then they sold to Discovery which scrapped some of that plan and then Canada went through some major writers strike which caused all the shows to fall on their face at the end lol.

There is 1 conversation during 5x13 that never happened but should have and i think the show really missed an opportunity by not having it. In 5x13 Kara needed another perspective so she chose a time frame where Mon El existed and her talking to him about what was going on to get his opinion. They should have had Kara choose a time frame where Lena would have listened and Kara could have told her weekday was happening. Who better to give advice about how to handle Lena than Lena. Imagine that convo, Kara tells Lena what's happening in real life, how they hurt each other. Lena tears in her eyes listens to all the ways she hurt Kara and vice versa looks deep into Kara's eyes and tells her "as long as you keep trying, I'll keep pushing you away" Kara blinks, confused, says "I'll never give up on you Lena, i promised to always be they're and i will". A soft smile comes over Lena as she grasps Kara’s hand, "i could never handle you thinking I'm a lost cause, I'll always try and prove you wrong. I'm not asking you to give up on me, I'm asking you to have faith that I'll always choose your side in the end". Kara looks at her, swallows slowly "so what, in supposed to tell you the truth, that i can't trust you anymore because you are so lost you see Lex as an ally? " Lena gets a smirk "Kara, if i chose Lex, it's because i know beyond any doubt that what I'm doing is wrong and o don't care what he thinks. I'll always care about what you think, It's why i most likely am keeping you away, shame makes me isolate ". Imagine if that conversation took place. It would still fit the show, keep it platonic, but add so many layers to what is happening.

In this video is clear to me that Morgana and Lena were written similarly and both had heroes like Kara and Merlin who tried to help them. Morgana and Lena both were destined to do terrible things. The difference in my opinion was Kara Danvers. Both Merlin and Kara hid who they were, both kept a dual identity from Lena and Morgana which caused both to turn dark. The difference, Kara didn't abandon Lena, she doubted her at times, but never fully abandoned her despite everyone telling her Lena was bad. Merlin listened to the dragon, he abandoned Morgana. Morgana only turned to her sister because everyone she trusted abandoned her. Kara wouldn't let their family abandon Lena, she never truly gave up

There is a Supercorp fan fic where Kara lands during the time of The Merlin show instead of our time. Kara ends up colliding with Morgana who is flying on her dragon and rescues them from falling. She nurses them back to health and befriends Morgana. Morgana starts showing signs of who she was during her early years on the show and even says are has become Uther. But still, after she is healed, she chooses to go back and continue what she was plotting. At the end, Kara is there watching as Morgana gets stabbed by Merlin and she holds her while she is dying. Morgana said "why didn't you protect me" Kara said, "you made your choice when I offered you another way, you chose not to turn back. I cannot save you from yourself, but I can hold you at the end". That story always makes me think of this scene, Lena was faced with the same choice as Morgana, only she turned back.

Cause mostly she can see the good in me; even when I can't see the good in myself. It is like she can tell that I have good in me, and that is really what made me fall in love with her.

Nicely done. It reminds me of how many, truely iconic and thoughtful characters there were in Jackson's version of The Hobbit. And some nice alignments with music to match their personalities. Needs a part two for a few (dwarves mainly) that deserve their own theme songs.
