Head Gasket Replacement Subaru Forester
Lol you dont need one of these
Lol you may not but I happen to find it very useful.
Does it works with a 2012 civic hybrid?
From what I understand it works with all Civic's from 08-13 but I would reach out to the seller to make sure
is there a link where you got get that module//
Check out the description in the main video 👍
Thank you for your instructions.Very easy to install and for me it's well worth the $100.00
Awesome, I'm glad it helped out!
Please, how much does this cost? Just curious. Thank you very much.
I don't actually sell the product, but when I bought mine they were about 75. All the information on the seller is in the video description
where can i buy this i need it badly
Check out the main video description all the links to the seller can be be found there.
@@AlmostAverageAutomotive i found it and got my invoice ready for tm appreciate it, is this a 9th gen thing? i’m just tired of going to firestone and the light still come on
There has to be an easier way than spending $100. At that price I would just buy the sensors and program them. 😂
So can I turn of my traction control with this device ? With the light on my traction is always on
Yes you can, that was the biggest reason I put it on. I had snow tires but couldn't go anywhere because that dang traction control 🤣
Where do they sell it I have a Honda civic 2013 how can I buy
I have the links for the seller in the video description 👍
Hello bro nice project. I just came a few months ago to canada. I got same pick up today i could start it. I love old cars. Back home i used have Mazda 323 1985. I repair the engine and i could travel for Colombia, Ecuador and peru on it. I would like to ask where can i get some parts for this Datsun.
Hey thanks for watching, unfortunately parts for these trucks are getting scarce. I find the majority of mine between Rockauto, eBay and Facebook groups. Rockauto has a majority of the drivetrain, brakes and some engine parts like gaskets, rings, spark plugs etc. Body panels is where it gets difficult, that's where I surf FB marketplace and eBay. Seems like there are alot of parts that come out of Thailand and are typically OEM.
What about if I just remove the monitor card? the light will turn off? do I need to replace it no matter what?
No unfortunately they way Honda wired the car, the TPMS is tied into both ABS and traction control. If you remove the card or fuse the system see's it as something broke and you will have multiple codes as well as dash lights.
Risk messing up your entire guage cluster for a tpms light.....sounds pretty risky and not necessary
Then let your tpms light shine on lol I was willing to take the risk and it has held up for many miles. You could also just put tape over it but I wanted a cleaner look, thanks for watching.
right up there with putting on your socks before your shoes. god-bless today's mechanics, it it doesn't involve tapping a screen.
Kinda like a warning label, if I have to say it, then it's happened before lol have a good one
Also if you watch the main video for context, you will see the car was sitting like that for several days before the remaining parts came in.
@@AlmostAverageAutomotive oh God yes, I remember someone dropped a screw into a freshly built engine in High School Auto mech.. kids just don't know until they know.
Aint got no gas in it.😅
It had gas but it was 25 years old 😂 smelled like porch stain
😂😂😂
Dude.. you have a spider on your pant leg 😂😅
I played it cool for the camera but best believe I got out of there when I shut it down
@AlmostAverageAutomotive LMMFAO. I don't mind turantulas, but little spiders is a different story
On my truck i just pump the breaks And it runs every time
Haha. I had to hit the top of my dash for heat to work in my 78 Camaro
I used to have a Chevrolet Blazer that you had to smack the headlight to get it to work. That lasted a month or two before it shut off 😂
I would replace those pulleys and tensioner too. Aisin sells a timing belt kit with all Japanese oem parts.
Always! That's the kit I used, it's in my other video 👍 thanks for watching.
Hey which exhaust is that ??
Hey! The company is Full-Race, 3" and exhaust is the catback with V-band connection.
saikospeed.com/products/full-race-9th-gen-civic-si-v-band-exhaust-system is where I bought all my parts, awesome company to work with!
Very informative and good teardown videos, for someone new to old Datsuns. Would have really liked to see the build..?
Thank you for the kind words, and it is definitely still in the works. Budget and saving for a garage is the #1 show stopper at the moment but it will happen!
Thank you this is just what I needed to find!
Glad I could help! 👍
Seria bueno q la traduccion fuera a español
Gracias! It is something I have looked into just unfortunately don't have the resources at the moment. Thank you for watching!
Will it work for other 2012 honda civic models other that the SI?
It does, you would have to check the site for all the models but I believe it's Accord, CRV, fit and others
Sorry I misread that comment, yes it works for all model civics.
Birds circling around the carcass 😢
Not the first time ive seen that
If it is blown or has rod knock don't worry it comes like that from the factory.
Does that come with the excessive oil consumption package?
@@AlmostAverageAutomotive Yes but the vape juice dispenser is gonna cost extra.
That timing belt needs a bit more tension sir
That it does, it's all better now brand new tensioner.
Hey Derek! I’ve got a 71 Volkswagen that needs some love! Can you help??
Of course, I need to do a revival episode on it!
What happened? I'm lost on this
The camshafts shifted as I was removing the timing belt. Spoiler alert the engine was fine I was just showing this in case it happened while someone was replacing their belt
Highly doubt it did any damage I was doing a Honda pilot 3.5L and the left cam phaser literally slung and shift from 12 o’clock to 6 o’clock sounded god awful and freaked me out I tried to reset it and it threw it another 180 the other way 😂 started sweating my ass off and was like well ive destroyed this engine and I had a buddy come and hold the cam phaser where it was supposed to be and then slip the belt on the correct timing mark. Installed the engine and it ran fine like a top. It’s been over a year now
I appreciate the feedback and it definitely makes you sweat a little 😂 I actually did this on purpose just to show that your engine is fine and go on to explain the proper way to get them back in time on the full video.
@@AlmostAverageAutomotive oh good shit then bro.
Ahh proud to have a small brain I see. Maybe ask mom for more money so you can try to become viral lolololol
Ahhh I just blew up my 2001 duramax and I’m getting the motor swapped now , trust me that v6 it’s gonna be cake to replace instead of a 17 thousand dollar 1 ton desiel motor
Absolutely, I honestly did this as a don't panic (spoiler alert the engine is fine) but I come from a heavy equipment mechanic background so I know the pain of having to replace an engine that cost upwards of 30k
@@AlmostAverageAutomotive gotcha I watched the video fast it looked like it was locked up but hope the best for your engine
Unlikely it had no momentum and jammed almost instantly you’re going to want to inspect the valves and do a leakdown check to be sure
Thank you for the input and that is definitely true, I honestly did this as a don't panic if this happens. I've worked on Subarus for a long time and remember the sheer panic the first time this happened to me so I wanted to share in case someone did the same thing.
Oh gawd.... just did 2 of them. It's a struggle man. We had 3 people for them a even then it was sketch.
It's definitely a challenging job, but patience is key. I did a walkthrough on the attached video, spoiler alert the engine isn't destroyed lol
This also works for a 2010 Honda CRV, however the TPMS module is in a different location. In the 2010 CRV the module is to the left of the shifter knob under the center console, to get to it, go down by the gas pedal, remove that side panel, there are 2 screws really easy, look up into the panel look toward the shifter and you will see it, it is difficult to take out, I used a super skinny screw driver the undo one of the tabs then wiggle out the card by wiggling the connector cable, be careful everything is plastic, you can totally do it, it will take you about 30 min because it's in a hard to reach place; but it totally works. No more TPMS light. Thank you so so much.
That's awesome l, I figured the module would be remain relatively the same throughout different Honda models but never could confirm. Thanks for watching!
So if I got my tires changed and after that it’s still on it would mean I’d have to change the whole thing correct not juz the tires but the tires n rims to not have the popping up ? And if I changed the tires only n not rims I’d have to install and buy sensors on each tire correct?
Was it working before you got the tires changed? If so I would take it back to the shop that changed them and have them fix it. If not chances are the sensors need replaced, you don't have to replace the tire but the tire will have to come off in order to replace the sensor since they are built into the valve stem on the rim. If you don't want to do that then refer to the video that is tagged on the short, there is a device you can buy that eliminates the light but you will still have to check the pressure manually.
@@AlmostAverageAutomotive sounds good I appreciate it and it was already popping up and showing way before I got my tirees changed but I thought after that and the service pack for the tpms that they give that it would take off but I had people tell me no matter what it won’t take off sense it’s the sensor n id need to replace them like you said, thanks
No worries at all, Hope I was able to help thanks for tuning in.
You’re awesome!
You're pretty awesome too! 🤩
Does this work for lx model
On the Facebook page it states 2008-2013 Civic, so I would say so but can't confirm 100% I would suggest reaching out to the maker just to verify.
I miss the Cobb on my 06. Never felt better shorter throws
Definitely, I had the Cobb on my old car I really liked that the height was adjustable.
I see someone shifting and it makes me miss my manual transmission
They are getting kinda rare these days, there's nothing quite like ripping through a few gears to bring a smile to your face.
@AlmostAverageAutomotive well I had one made by hyundai it was a six speed got great gas mileage but after 4 years started having mechanical problems so I upgraded to an automatic and its gas mileage suckes and I just miss the shifting
Good stuff man!
Thanks for watching!
Congrats man! Just found your channel! I have a 13’ sti hatchback in satin white pearl. I’ll be following the progress!
Thanks man, I love the satin white pearl! That was the color of our old Forester and it seemed like it always looked clean, even when we neglected cleaning it for a month or two 😂
Clean the plastic
I'll get right on that 👍
Why would you do that?
In my case I had summer and winter wheels, the winter set didn't have sensors so on the Civic if the tire light is on then traction control is permanently on and can't be disabled. Making getting around in the snow extra difficult.
@@AlmostAverageAutomotive So if I got my tires changed and after that it’s still on it would mean I’d have to change the whole thing correct not juz the tires but the tires n rims to not have the popping up ? And if I changed the tires only n not rims I’d have to install and buy sensors on each tire correct?
I had my TPMS warning beeping in my face when driving for two weeks. Took my car to tire shop and they said rear right TPMS needs replace. Replaced it and still nothing fixed after a week of driving (supposing it’ll relearn the new sensor). Went back in a week later (different tech now) said the front right is not registering so I must replace that too. Now the total cost is $160. I told him the first time was the rear right, 1 week later now it’s the front? So I canceled the service for the front right TPMS and just pulled fuse. Now I’m going to do a delete so I can turn off Traction control which is uselesss cutting engine power when i need momentum to get my a** unstuck in the winter.
Very interesting. I never knew Honda did that for their 2012 cars. Good video! 📸 🎉
I don't know why Honda designed it that way on the Subaru if the lights on all the other systems still work normally
Care to explain 🎤
Absolutely, check out the attachment video it details everything.
Congrats, cuz.
Thanks man, hopefully I'll follow through and actually record more videos lol
Yo quiero uno tengo honda Civic si 2012 y le puse unos rines diferentes
As far as I know, you should still be able to contact Joe on FB and order one.
I lost it when he “make sure you don’t bust anything while you’re in there” 😂😂
I've been dealing with this issue for years and finally found this video. Just ordered one thanks so much for sharing
I'm glad it helped out! Not having the ability to turn off traction control can really hurt you at times.
@@AlmostAverageAutomotive I've literally had to drive around in snow and ice with traction control on its miserable
