What do you mean "when it seemed hostilities were imminent"? Rebel forces had been besieging and capturing American forts since at least January 8, well before Lincoln was inaugurated. At least two ships had been fired on, nearly 20% of the U.S. Army had been captured in Texas, and rebels had forced the surrender of Fort Sumter with an all-out artillery bombardment. The United States was under attack by rebel forces. What is the commander in chief supposed to do in that circumstance? The Constitution is clear - the President has both the authority and the duty to suppress insurrection. And of course, every area of civil rights where Lincoln may have blurred the lines, he quickly turned authority back over to Congress when the peak emergency passed.

Slavery can be bad and the north can also have been wrong to declare war on the south for seceding. The southern states joined the United States voluntarily and should have been allowed to leave peacefully

Mexico is in NORTH America, not Central America. Nice attempt, though using the Dulles brothers overthrowing Guatemala in 1953 woukd show the Corporate Interests side of "policing" the Americas.

The Electoral College system should be modified to where people from the Political Parties are less likely to cheat. 1. There should be a People's Volunteer Malitia Group to Police the Elections, 2. Instead of having an Election Day,... there should be an Election Week, and 3. There should be Electoral Colleges for both Local and State Government Elections. That way,... the people who reside in the smaller Cities, Townships, and Counties can have better equal Political Representation.

A few years ago American government strongly protest migration from Latin America, Trum administration had taken several initiative of that Migration and spent a lot of money to built strong border between Mexico and America. Practically there is no scope of Mexico and other Spanish and Portuguese people in America.

James Madison was a snake that cleverly sold us a bill of goods that became a debt that has been growing ever since. Man can make rules but they have no right to issue rights. The rights we have are from God and are based upon the Bible.

Hamilton wanted to establish the Rothschild's Federal Reserve Bank Corporation and Jefferson saw the horror in that. Give away the power - but they got through W Wilson and he was said to have realized his mistake. That was/is so sad ...

Love Jefferson. We are a 2 Party System but a Democracy requires a Free Press (that actually employs journalists, reporters) and aren't under an owner that dictates the info flow. Elite Owners, particularly not citizens (Rupert Murdoch FOX, Rothschild Associated Press/AP and Owns our Federal Reserve Bank CORPORATION) These are really not good for the whole. Need facts to make the desired choices. That's a weakness 9f Democracy.

Great video. The map of North America showing spheres of influence/occupation is a bit wackadoodle tough. The video is about the Seven Year War period. By this point in history the Dutch colonies were gone. The British colonies stretched from Georgia to Newfoundland. At the opening of the war, French territory was New France (including much of present day New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Cape Breton Island) and Louisiana. The map has included all of New France under British the British. This become the case only at the end of the war. France loses Louisiana to Britain and Spain at the end of the war.

The union had lots more people than the south. That's one of the reasons the south succeeded, because the north could control the south because of their higher population.

@@pintoffanta2510 22k miles vs 950 miles of railway. Even if the confederates did play a slow war like this guy expressed they could have/ did not, mobilization of troops and resources would of course just improve over time in my opinion.
