I think there was a glowing power-up thing in at least one of the Animes released from 1960 to the same year as The Last Dragon. I can think of Astro Boy predating and also, since it is also an Anime, being in the right place to inspire Akira Toriyama. It's a nice thought, Sho'nuff being the first "Super Saiyan" OR inspiring the "glowy power-up", but there's at least one example predating The Last Dragon and made in Japan, released first to Japanese, making it VERY unlikely.

😂😂😂 of course they did the Japanese got the Golden Glow from The Last Dragon he's right the first person that ever had any kind of glow aura around their body was Sho'nuff even though he was evil but he was the first damn Bruce Leroy of the pure form in the Golden Glow that's what the Japanese people stole and try to make it seem like Goku did it when the idea came from a black man in America

Wesley Snipes was still in the movie because he’s one of the dancers in the Debarge video. Were you even born in the 80’s? You seem to allude to race being why Vanity wasn’t a headliner when it was more likely due to her well known narcotics problem. She was seen as a goddess. It had nothing to do with her skin color. Whether you believe it or not, people got along much better back then than they do now. The era was clearly reflected in this movie when compared to the endless divisive, racial animosity between characters in most media today. There’s more positivity in this one very black soundtrack than the three last decades of black music. How can race relations have gotten worse? By decades of mass media conditioning. That’s how.

Lionel Richie and Quincy jones wrote Ms celie's blues together and Tyler perry. Got some of the. Cast from the movie and he put them in the move. Daddys little Girl and i heard that Gail king. Was in the movie in the wedding scene i don't know if that is true

Great video buddy, but I got to let you know the first person that had the glow was Bruce Lee in fist of fury or Chinese connection. If you want the American translation back in the day but the correct name of it was fist of fury. He had it when he fought the Russian. Bob Baker that's where Leroy got the hands going in a circle and going up and down and it's shown in The last dragon at the very end where the flower opens up. That was the first glow was Bruce. I'm not trying to be a know-it-all or anything like that, but I thought you'd appreciate that. I still love your video. You do a good job. Thanks for putting that out there

Damn the way how u held ur breath for Ms. Denise Matthews, respect & i would never call her Vanity again. Thank u for that. I need to read her book bc she was a very beautiful woman in the 80s. And at that last scene when she dressed in sparkling with her white outfit on the Last Dragon, she reminded me of Barbie, the first black Barbie of the 80s. She was very beautiful. Thank u for taking ur time for acknowledging her. ❤❤❤ Respect & im very grateful of ur commentary.

Sorry to call it: You’re wrong about who was first to go super saiyen. It was Chin-Pei (played by Lo Lieh) in the film King Boxer 1972 (released in US as Five Fingers of Death). Chin-Peis hands glow red in the final fight giving him devastating blows due to a secret technique he learned from his master. And here’s the 11th thing you didn’t know about The Last Dragon: Sho Nufs hands glowing red was inspired by King Boxer.

Im so glad you made this my brotha. As a film maker, video editor, content creator, martial artist and HUGE The Last Dragon fan myself, I can't express to you how great this was. I started my martial arts early being inspired by Bruce Lee, Van Damme, Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, etc and of course The Last Dragon. All i did was kick every damn day just because i was naturally good at it. Mom refused to let me join ab actual class because she didn't want me "getting hurt" haha so i trained on my own in my front and backyard, on the playground at school, in my room as I watched movies, DBZ or listened to soundtracks from Kickboxer, Street Fighter, Tekken, Best of The Best etc I was all in. I used to unscrew the broom stick from the bottom bottom part and use it as my bo staff for years. She would get so frustrated at first and knew instantly that whenever it was missing, that shed find me in the yard practicing haha eventually she grew to love it and even brought me my own after seeing how dedicated i was. She still didn't let me join a class, so when i was 18 I signed up immediately the day after my birthday to Hapkido. 25+ years, my first plane trip to Seoul South Korea, some gold and silver medals, stunt roles in films and fught scenes, being an instructor myself and a wealth of great experiences later, I was blessed with actually getting to meet Taimak in person just two weeks ago 🥋🙏🏿💯 I've had my CDL for a year, and drove my truck across the country top Denver Colorado for the Mile High Martial Arts Expo to ensure i didn't miss the chance to meet him and all of the other martial arts legends such as Philip AND Simon Rhee, Don The Dragon Wilson, Billy Blanks, Cynthia Rothrock, Keith Cooke etc and receive training from them. Im still putting together some videos of the event and im so grateful for having experienced such a thing. R.I.P to my mother for being the biggest support in my life in my martial arts journey after her initial hesitation. Sorry for the rant. I just had so many great memories as i wrote this and i thank you once again for this amazingly well put together video my guy. You'll definitely have my support from here on and I wish you all the best going forward 🙏🏿

@33:51 ... in the novel, Shug is a rebel and she's free from oppression from any man and pretty unrepentant about it. ... in real life, such a one is the saddest of us all ... free from oppression, she is neither equally yoked with a man nor God. They are they that never experience enduring love nor build eternal families: husband, wife, and child ... because, they never transcend the world of selfish lust; because, they like the bee can never overcome the lure of honey. What a horribly vulgar film written by a gossip who had nothing better to do than air out the family laundry. Question: What kind of person thinks this is a good story to tell the world ... answer below ... . Answer: Caryn Johnson a drug addict ... and a poor little girl named ... "O r p a h" ... from rural Mississippi who was raped... . BTW... The name Orpah is found in the Holy bible. Quote. “ Orpah (Hebrew: עָרְפָּה ʿOrpā, meaning "neck" or "fawn") is a woman mentioned in the Book of Ruth in the Hebrew Bible. [She was named] Orpah, for she deserved to have her neck broken [because of her actions], like the heifer who is so treated” (Ruth Zuta 1:4; although the specific act to which this criticism is directed is not given by the midrash).... . She was from Moab and was the daughter-in-law of Naomi and wife of Chilion.[1] After the death of her husband, Orpah and her sister-in-law Ruth wished to go to Judea with Naomi. However, Naomi tried to persuade both Ruth and Orpah to return to their people and to their gods. Ruth chose to remain with Naomi, but Orpah chose to return to her people and her gods. (Ruth i. 4 et seq.). . In rabbinic literature, the treatment of Orpah is almost entirely negative.[2] Orpah is identified with Harapha, the mother of the four Philistine giants (2 Samuel 21:16), one of whom was Goliath. These four sons were said to have been given her for the four tears which she shed at parting with her mother-in-law (Babylonian Talmud, Sotah 42b). The name Harapha stems from the word for threshing; she allowed herself to be "threshed" by many men, as one would thresh wheat (Babylonian Talmud, Sotah 42b).[3] The Sanhedrin tractate in the Talmud says that she was killed by King David's general Abishai, the son of Zeruiah, with her own spindle.[4][5] (source: Wiki ) . So ... yes ... Orpah is Oprah's given name. . What do you think? How do you feel this movie has affected black culture? How do you feel this movie has affected feminist culture? Does this movie positively or negatively affect attitudes towards secular marriage and marriages sanctioned by God? .

Growing up one of my heroes was Bruce Lee, needless to say, I saw this movie in the Theatre 3 times. It boosted my love of the Martial Arts and it was something I did and excelled at for over 30 years. I still watch this movie occasionally because it never gets old and, speaks a message to youngsters and carries a code of ethics about respect and honor, even to your opponent or someone you may not like.
