I don’t really know if anyone has pointed this out yet but I like how Hollyleaf doesn’t have more detail in her eyes (and overall design) like the other cats do. Her eyes look just like Ashfur’s in that neither of them have much detail to their designs, making them look monstrous and more sinister. Ashfur probably saw Hollyleaf as a monster because it is stated in the Broken Code that he never forgave Hollyleaf for killing him (I think in the prologue of A Light in the Mist). He also probably knew what he was doing was bad but at that point he didn’t care because he was so over his head. God I love this PMV to bits and pieces.

The movement of Antpelt's tail is my favorite. Also, I was about to comment about how I always found it odd that the singer here pronounces the Ls in guillotine because I've never heard it said like that in my life, but doing a quick search shows that both pronunciations are correct (in fact, pronouncing it with the Ls was listed first where I was looking). Did everyone know this except me?

i love how uncannily ashfur is drawn compared to the others (his mouth being able to open wider than it should, move in ways it shouldnt). i might be over-analyzing, but i think it really emphasizes what he's become

Not a huge fan of warrior cats, but I find myself occasionally looking back on some old animations around it when I still read the books. While I was doing this, I came across this and I usually refrain from commenting often but I just had to stop to praise this. This is genuinely my favourite Ashfur portrayal, the artstyle is simple but good. I don’t like Ashfur any more than any other Warriors character but you were able to portray him in a different light which I really enjoy. You made him seem like a genuinely villainous character rather than some goofy twinkish emo guy. You made me find this dude interesting after years of Warriors being forgotten in my world, for that I applaud you. I love this artwork.

The end made me cry a little. The innocent version of Ashfur, Ashkit, is allowed to return to his mother in death. But Ashfur as he was at death had done far too much at that point to deserve forgiveness, so he watches as the last remnant of good gets the ending it deserves, while the rest of him is left to disappear. Incredible stuff

this is amazing... the imagery and colours and character designs and everything are obviously well-thought out and communicate so much even though the art style is so simple. i also admire the way the lyrics are placed in the animation itself without taking anything away!

Goodness I can't believe I haven't seen this sooner, I love the lineless art so much and the way ashfur's drawn! a thing I really like and noticed is when ashfur is sunken into the water and dies, its like his life flashes before his eyes, and ashfur is more simple and with more feature, as if symbolic to show how monstrous he acted, rather than how he looked, just might be overthinking on that though- good work! I can't stop watching this 😭

This is SO amazing i literally cant stop watching it!! I know a lot of other people have already said this but god i love how your style makes ashfur seem like a specter/inhumane, even when he was alive. I love all the tiny details in this, the simple style makes those details pop and give so much more meaning. Like what someone else mentioned how ashkit has irises, showing just how far off ashfur had gone from his innocent, younger self. Im not sure if it was intentional but at 4:34 when his life is flashing before his eyes, he has slightly more detail (like more outlines, a nose, visible tears) which just makes him seem a little less.. otherworldly/uncanny valley ish and more humane, far easier to sympathize with. like despite how he appeared on the outside when he was alive as cruel and coldhearted, deep down he still had a heart. Hed been too blinded by his grief, rage, and wrath. And he didn't realize what he'd wasted until his life was literally flashing before his eyes as he drowned. Ik im just rambling rn and could be seriously reaching but i just love this pmv sm its soo good thank youu <33

I have not commented on this yet but I’m here to just let you know how amazing this is!! My favorite part is the ending with Ashfur and Ashkit. It’s so interesting to think that before the second arc, Ashfur was just a throw away character. There was never any plans for him to become such a monster, he was just somebody’s little baby.

Honestly, It’s rare seeing AshFur and Squirrelflight being genuinely happy together before the whole BrambleClaw and Starclan thing. People usually forget that they were courting each other. And the slight details (well not so slight) of Squirrelflight being uncomfortable with his clingy behavior is just so AUUGHHH. Favorite Ashfur vid ever
