CDN benefits to app developers & businesses
This is a clip cut from my conversation with Robin Marx about CDN and Web Performance. In this video, Rob talks about CDN and what you stand to gain as a business when you adopt it.

Do you know the difference between http/2 and http/3? How does the QUIC protocol come into play? Robin explains that in this clip. For the complete video about HTTP protocol, caching, and CDN, see the complete video: ruclips.net/user/live89DKBKbkp_8?si=60VgBs5cqXEjauVX&t=75
Modern Web Dev Symphony

A playful song about web performance and frameworks. I wrote the lyrics and gave it to Suno AI to make it into an awesome sound. You can listen here: suno.com/song/ad47ab4f-c057-43f6-8e6e-ad2c23ab6326
Improving server performance with HTTP Caching - Sylvain Combraque
Просмотров 682 месяца назад
In this week's episode, I'm joined by Sylvain, creator of Souin HTTP Cache, to talk about HTTP Caching and how they can improve web performance. Not just about how it works, we will do a quick walkthrough of how to do this using souin.io. CDNs as you know them use a cache proxy (reverse proxy with caching) to serve user request, but they have distributed server in multiple global regions (aka P...
Keep it up am appreciate
Practical video will be nice
That was the intention, but we didn’t get to it because of time. Thus why I added “part 1” to the title. We will have a follow up with more practical

Hey! I don't find it very credible that Fly would be cheaper than AWS for comparable uses. Any information on this?
If you want to validate that, then go to fly.io's pricing page. Pick a compute and compare it with similar ones in AWS. Don't forget to add the cost of cloud watch, and similar stuff. The logs are not charged in fly, and you can ship/transfer them to special sources like DataDog or Honeycomb. You also get a free Grafana dashboard about the request, cpu, and other metric, all built-in and not charged for. Do the comparison

I like hosting my own infrastructure
where do you host, and what's your preferred set up?
@@pmbanugo I have my own homelab. I run Proxmox. And within Proxmox I run Ubuntu server. Soon I will try to deploy K8s via Terraform and Ansible. I'm also preparing to setup OPNsense firewall and 10GbE network at home. And my FTTH will connect directly to my OPNsense using a special SFP+ ONT module. Recently, I also got my own server rack.
That’s nice! Very few people I know run their own homelab. Are all this setup for personal projects or they’re related to your work?
@@pmbanugo It's currently all personal projects or open-source projects (for the good of humanity). Soon I also want to host my own mail server and host my own mailboxes. And I people also contacted me if they can use some of my infrastructure, so I think it will become more than only personal eventually, and sell hosting, storage and services I run. Maybe a good alternative for people who don't want to use big tech.
@@MelroyvandenBerg that's cool. I'd love to know how that goes in the long run. Maybe chat about it over a livestream
👌👌
What DevOps-related topic would you like me to record? Let me know in the comments
I love this Bro. ❤ From Nigeria
I appreciate the comment. Hope to see during one of the livestreams
Thanks for the chat Peter. 🎉
I’m glad you had fun. I did too 💯
That’s nice performance
I love it best of all
Thank you
Had a blast chatting with you, thanks for having me! My mic is awful though… takeaway: connect my external mic next time :s
@@kuberdenis I thought that’s what you used😅. Maybe we’ll have better luck next time
