Rats and mice are great swimmers when they are used to water, I assume they would be used to swimming before getting into the surf. Great video if this is the case!

that wipeout into the rocks looked gnaaarly, was a good ride but i felt bad for the little guy on that one. super radical for sure, i thought this would be super fun to do at home in a bath tub but i dont think it would really be possible, wish there was a more convinient way to teach and watch a creature to learn surfing as a little hobby. i always thought it would be cool, but maybe fucked up, to strap them in and somehow teach them to paddle around a flat tub and then actually paddle for their wave and see what they can do. would be so hard to design a board but man that would be siiiiick. the human assist tow in sessions are still super rad, what happened to that one rat that just shined every time you gave him a super angled takeoff i hope that wasnt chopstix

These animals were given no choice but to ride those little boards. Animal cruelty.

How many have you drowned? How many have survived the ear infections they probably get from water in their ears. Domestic rats are one of the most fragile animals created. They can die from stress. Don't you know anything at all about them or are you just on an ego trip?

Those are pet rats you sicko. They are terrified of water. I can't even imagine the psychological trauma you put them through.

Mice are amazing swimmers, actually, and they apparently really love doing it. He has even trained them to skateboard because it is too cold for them to surf in the wintertime.

I've had rats for years and they can be trained to do all sorts of tricks as long as they are treated kindly and with respect. These little guys look like they are having fun. They wouldn't let anyone put them on the little boards if they didn't want to be there. I love the videos.

@Marnyization You're right, it is cruel, IF you just chuck the animals on a board and don't train them. It is no more cruel than teaching your dog to do something on command, or teach a bird to speak human words. Maybe look up the Radicals website and at least be fully informed about what is done to prepare these animals for the surf and what safety measures are put in place before judging. Don't ASSUME anything, research and ask questions if you are concerned. A
