@@Skar38rus really? It's worked with my playthrough although I am on an older version of the mod. Downgrade to any version of the mod pre 1.8 and test it. If it still doesn't work then it's not the all in one mod that's the issue

@@hiimhugo6687 For sure, that's understandable. I was talking with my wife last night how as long as a RPG gives me someone to fight for, whether it be a romance, sibling, or some other character the game makes important to my PC then I think I'm good to go for the most part. Even if I do prefer a good romance, if everything else in an RPG is good, I can't be too upset lol

Ah, yeah as I mentioned in the video I'm straight, so I just unfortunately have no interest in romancing other guys 😅. Not that I can't enjoy romances between two men, or two women. I loved Arcane and the relationship between Vi and Caitlyn. There's also a BL anime coming out soon my wife was looking forward to that she showed me the trailer for and I'm excited to check that out as well. But when I play RPGs I self insert so I personally don't play through em. OH! But I did watch the Solas romance throughout my wife's playthrough of all the DA games and I did enjoy that one a lot tho!

@@heatherharrison264I do agree that if Bethesda bowed out of romance in their RPGs that it wouldn't be missed 😅. And yeah, thanks to BG3, prospective buyers are gonna expect more from the romance within these kinds of games. So, while I want more of it, I do understand if devs opt out of it because of concerns that they won't do it justice.

If it's done right it means appealing to a wider audience and more sales/success. It means everyone has something about these games they like, and as long as the other aspects of the game don't suffer then all is good in my eyes.

@@THE_Glass_Grizzly I think all the greats pull it off pretty well though for the most part? BG3, ME, Dragon Age, PoE, Cyberpunk, The Witcher. I get not every game will do it great but there's enough good example that I do think it warrants a try if the dev team can afford it. But I understand your take on things as well, leave it to the big boys of RPG making 😅

@@chaos9059 yeah I could agree with that for sure. Did something I didn't like about the game either! Like having no romance in the game for you as a player but allowing your companions to engage with it was just brutal 😅

@@bogan8865 Really? That's interesting. I do prefer it to be like pretty well thought out myself, but it's interesting to see someone have your take on it. So like how it was and Skyrim and Fable, that's good enough for you? I could see that for sure, especially if it's just something you like to have there as like a slight immersion thing, rather than a big button feature.

@ it’s nice to have it flushed out of course, I would prefer it. But I’m saying the reason games like skyrim and fable are classics is because they incorporated it in some capacity. If its not there at all, the world just feels bland. An essential aspect of the heroes journey is usually having a love interest. But that doesn’t mean it has to be a romance story. They just have to be there for things to feel complete. Fable even did a better job than most modern games now that you mention it. Fable addresses making a family albeit barely. But skyrim only let you adopt children, and most games have never given you the option to have actual progeny

@bogan8865 Ahhh I see what you're saying now. I completely forgot about the whole family aspect of fable, you're right! But I agree for sure in terms of the whole heroes journey side of things. I do like to roleplay characters that have someone to fight for, at the very least. Preferably someone who is a romantic interest, but yeah lol.

Just because there's a lot of convo surrounding it, doesn't mean thats the majority ya know? I gotta remind myself of that as well. Most people are just busy actually enjoying games, the majority of fans don't actively participate in discussion, it's usually only superfans and even then, there's niches and categories within that. The conversations on reddit and bluesky for example surrounding a given RPG are gonna differ drastically, but if you spend time on only one of those platforms you'd be likely to think something like: "people are only talking about the romances". For Avowed my main concern is gonna be how cool of a gish can I make. Romance was more of a secondary concern of mine, but yeah. I agree that there are finite budgets and romance can eat up a lot, but I don't worry about that too much as plenty of the best RPGs of all time have great romance as well. And for subpar games like Starfield its not like removing the romance would have saved it lmao.

Sours the scene? 😂 Even if we go back to DA:O the majority of players would have engaged with romance lol. A lot of the games don't even have intimacy scenes, it's about the actual romance aspect of it. Can't even argue that their inclusion reduces the overall quality of games they appear in because again; many of the "best RPGs of all time" have romance in them. If you don't like it, I think that's perfectly valid of course. But, I do think there's merit to their inclusion as an option at least.

@minstora I like BG3 because I can build powerful teams to defeat the evil overtaking the world. You like it because you can watch a bear f*** a vampire. We are not the same.

@@ninjuhturdel I'm straight, so false lol. Also I've been DMing DnD for years now, and romance isn't even in my games. I enjoy doing cool character builds. Specifically gish builds. Its why I enjoy RPGs. But at the same time I can also enjoy romance on the side while making cool characters that can fight with swords and sling spells at once. You don't gotta pick one or the other my guy 🤣

It's an inheirtently optional part of the game. I think you just missed that part? Mass effect doesnt force you into a romance, BG3 doesn't either and nor does Cyperpunk. Skyrim has optional marriage! The fallout games also do not force you to romance anyone!!! Romance fleshes a character out. You can think it's cringe and appeals to a strange demographic, but at the end of the day, these are roleplay games. You make a character and you generally interpret how that character acts, what you might head cannon their story to be, ect. Romance for people is huge! They want to be able to connect more than just friendship with this characters and thats why in BG3, you can date pretty much anyone, granted you fufill their requirements. Its never been the main point of a game. But you just missed this point entirely.

@homingbird4860 I wouldn't call it optional when I had multiple characters in my BG3 playthrough solicit me for sex, despite me actively avoiding engaging in any of those game mechanics. The only one missing any points here is those of you, uploader included, who think this stuff is "optional" when it very obviously is not. Remember a scene with a bug bear and an ogre? Unfortunately, I sure do.

I do personally prefer the original timeline, but that's mostly because Richter is my favorite Belmont lol. Now that we've got a series with him pretty much concluded. I'd be totally down to get a Lord of Shadow series. I think the story of that trilogy is actually mad interesting, and the team behind the animated series could definitely even end up improving on what's already there for sure.

I mean thats kinda the point of a gaming content creator right? 😂 I'll play it day 1, and if I'm correct I'll make a follow up video letting people know I was right and that the microtransactions are outta control. But if I'm wrong I'll make a follow up video and let people know that thankfully I was wrong and that they can enjoy the game without worrying. I don't WANT games to fail or be bad, so this is a case in which I do hope I end up being wrong.

I'm disappointed as well because like I know Obsidian can write some great romance is what kills me 😂. I get their reasoning for not including it but it's still a bummer. Nevertheless Avowed does look just outright fun and the story set up is pretty interesting. Enough as to make me wanna get it, but not enough to pay extra for the 5 days early access lol

Yeah, for me I plan to play the game in 3rd person so hopefully the animation won't be as bad in that pov. I agree in 1st person some of the stuff looks rough tho 😅. I was exactly the same with ME 1, like I was bummed because I truly didn't like any of the options that were presented but I was SO happy when I saw Tali was on the table in 2 and 3 😫 EDIT: and yeah if there's no romance I do definitely appreciate having a really well written companion or sister to anchor me to the plot. It's not an RPG, but for Titanfall 2 the MCs relationship with their mech: BT-7274 had me glued to the screen.

To be clear, I don't think romances should ever be a *required* story element for players to engage with, loads of players don't want to interact with NPCs on that level. That's why I stress the term *options*.

@minstora Haha this came late to me anyway I realized it was posted 2 years ago 😂 I share the skepticism too, I really hope more than anything it's at least decent, but hopefully better than decent for how long we've waited. Like everyone else i much would've preferred Skate 4. :/ I'm just PRAYING that there are decks and other customizations that can still be UNLOCKED and don't all have to be BOUGHT with real money.

True, but they care about money. No doubt they see what Capcom has been able to pull off financially by reviving some of their IPs with legitimately good video games, thus are attempting the same with SH, and the MGS3 remake. Why not give Castlevania a crack if that's their aim, ya know?

Holy crap, I'm so sorry lol, I've been busy studying for practicals lol. First off, in one of their recent updates, the mod author said they "fixed the warlock spell list" but idk if thats with 5e spells in mind, so try the two mods together and see if they work, if not the mods I used to get it working are: Secret Spells 5e Scrolls (+unlocked, and the tutorial optional add-on files in that very same mod) and the Ring of Stars mod. What you do is when you wanna learn one of the 5e spells is you grab one of the spell scrolls from the secret spells 5e scrolls mod, you put on the ring of stars, then you right click the scroll and you should be able to learn it. Then just unequip the ring and you should be good to go!

@@billwumsen4108 I mean. I figured getting to the end of act 1 was enough of a play test. Especially considering the extra encounters mod that meant I'd already been in over, what? 20 fights? I can only speak for myself but in my playthrough I experienced no issues with a party of 2 Warlocks, a Ranger, and Bard. Except for: the Warlock spell list issue, which really isn't the mod author's fault as that was due to 2 different mods having a conflict, when they stated their mod doesn't work properly with others that affect similar aspects of the game, and Investment of the Chain Master not working properly. Which for that one I posted about it being an issue in the comments of the mod page and literally the next day an update was pushed out that fixed it lmao. (Yes it did fix it in my existing playthrough. I updated the mod, mid save, and the fix applied). And that's not just me either. In the comment (posts) section there's dozens of examples of someone pointing out an issue and the next day, the dude being like: it's fixed. 🤣. Hard to really complain at that point, especially for something that's free. I'm sorry your experience has had issues, but mine hasn't. And considering the mod author's receptiveness to feedback/bugs and the speed at which they fix them, I can still recommend the mod nonetheless 👍. The way you describe the mod is not how I'd personally describe it 🤷‍♂️.

@minstora fair Point, maybe it was Just me being unlucky but with barb and sorcerer i had a really bad experience, two months ago. Maybe its all fixed now? 🤷 Idk, but to anyone trying it, i would still recommend to be aware, that you cant just uninstall and play without it on that safe game, and that's the first Mod for me, that did prevent me from doing so.

@billwumsen4108 Oh dude 2 months ago? This thing is VASTLY different now. And while I do think it's a bit obvious , I do agree that the author could've and probably should've put a warning that once a playthrough is started with the mod, that it cannot be continued with it uninstalled. I can see both sides though. Clearly 2 months ago it was missing a lot of content and features, and while it may have been more appropriate to release it in a more complete less buggy state, doing so allowed Yoon to get an insane amount of feedback on which issues to hone in one that one person alone would've taken quite long to play test. So I can understand your grievances for sure, and I'd agree that for anyone considering the mod be cautious of just how buggy it could get and ruin a playthrough. But I feel like thats just best practice for BG3 mods in general.
