    I'd also like to know ur views on abortion, since scholars claim it to be completely impermissible, but I went through the Quran: a reformist translation, and I find that it says termination within 3 months is alright as long as u have a reason. and I think we must stand with women who choose to go through abortion after they were raped, or got pregnant due to incest, or can't mentally or physically feel like they can handle a pregnancy at that time and situation. In case where the mother feels she has not the mental capacity to handle a pregnancy right now, I feel like forcing her to go through it anyway cause abortion is a. 'sin' seems barbaric and detrimental to her health, all in order to preserve a possible life only..I agree that children are blessings to everyone, but sometimes we need to consider the person who might be temporarily or permanently damaged by such a pregnancy...I'd like to know ur intellectual views on the topic

    Hey man I know this is kind of random but I was raised a Christian but over the last 2-3 years of studying I have gone away from it. I am stuck between Judaism and Islam. It has been a very difficult and long road for me. I believe Islam has a lot of proofs and evidence, but I’m still struggling to make the right decision because I don’t want to go to hell for eternity. I was just curious does Jews go to paradise in Islam too as long as they believe in God, the last day, and the prophets?

      The Holy Quran guides us in this matter as follows. 1. "Al-Baqara (The Cow) - 2:62 Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve." So as Muslims we believe that this matter is between them and God. It is only God Al-Mighty who has the right and power to decide their fate and we as his servents are not asked, nor given responsibility, nor enough knowledge to understand everyone circumstances and hence are discouraged to make an assumption about their final fate in the after life. Muslims are expected to respect all religions and faiths and treat everyone with kindness and charity irrespective of their faith. This is the Divine test of Muslims faith too on how they treat their fellow human beings. More verses in Quran about this issue are as follows 2. But whoever believes, and works righteousness,- he shall have a goodly reward, and easy will be his task as We order it by our Command." (Al-Kahf, Chapter #18, Verse #88) 3. Whoever works any act of righteousness and has faith,- His endeavour will not be rejected: We shall record it in his favour. (Al-Anbiyaa, Chapter #21, Verse #94) 4. If Allah so willed, He could make you all one people: But He leaves straying whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases: but ye shall certainly be called to account for all your actions. (An-Nahl, Chapter #16, Verse #93) 5. Allah guides those whom He will and He knows best those who receive guidance. (Al-Qasas, Chapter #28, Verse #56)

    khimar which is in the verse means headscarf. the thing that arab men wear, women wore too. some women from before were bare chested, and wore khimar but it was thrown back. it is ordered to bring part of their khimar forward to cover the chest. hijab used in modern context is not accurate. instead of hijabi should call khimari

    Can someone give me advice. I've found out and read the parts of the quran talking about womens dress and I love dressing modestly except for the hijab and my hair is damaged (its an afro) because of it and its thin and im only 14! Only a small percent of muslim women find this out and I want to do it young. The problem is that im scared of my parents. They said dressing in pants in the house with your father and brothers is bad unless there freaking princess jasmine aired up pants, that I cant play sports cause im a girl and they encourage me to do track... WITH A LONG SKIRT TO MY FEET. They think that me and my 2 sisters should clean and not my OLDER BROTHER CAUSE HE'S A BOY AND BOYS DON'T CLEAN. The most rebellious thing I've done with my clothes is wear long pants in gym class and I felt like it was 👌. Im actually be afraid if they hit me or bring me to a sexist sheihk or maybe both who knows. Anyway I just want to know how to explain I dont want to wear the hijab to slightly sexist parents and not get abandoned lol. SERIOUSLY HELP ME. I want to be the muslim allah told me to be not a man made hadith. Also arent hadiths a little weird? Its like playing the game Telephone for 1400 years and expecting everything to be the same. salamu 3alaykum . I have a question , ok i understand this , but then why when we pray do we wear fuill cover , why when we go hajj its full too . i am in the proccess of taken hijab , my community is so judgmental , So they ask then why do we pray (and our clothes the same ) and why when we go hajj our dress code is like this ?

    • @modlogman
      @modlogman 9 лет назад

      +Beautiful Day Thanks for your comments. The dress code for prayers and for Hajj is for different reasons all together. A women is expected to dress up modesty and cover her head during her prayers whether she is a prepubertal girl, an adult women or an old women and whether she is praying in public or praying alone in the full privacy of her home or whether she is praying with Mehrams (people who one is not allowed to marry). The instructions of hijab in Quran can not be compared to the situation in prayers. Covering head is an Ibrahimic tradition and hence is followed by not only men and women of Jewish religion but also many other religions including Islam when they are praying. Same goes for Hajj as well. This special dress code is not for social reasons but out of respect for the Divine. While on the other hand the instructions for Hiajb are clearly related to social circumstances according to Quran (as described in the videos) and they are not applicable on prepubertal girls and old women and with "Mehrams" (People who one is not allowed to marry). The full covering of body which is called Jilbab in Quran is a traditional dress as explained in the videos and is promoted as dress code for Muslim women in all situations which is not correct according to Quran.

      Hafsa Mtipula Head covering for prayers was a tradition of Jews of Madinah which after converting to Islam they continued and the Prophet did not object. There is no instruction in Quran for women to cover their hair during prayers. Since at Prophet's times Jews of Madinah were the elite of the society and very influential, any practices attributed to them were adopted by the general public. Hence this is a traditional practice which forces an elderly lady (who by Quranic instructions is allowed to leave her outer garment even in public) to cover herself up at times of prayers even when she is alone at home. Allah has made his intention for asking ladies to cover themselves up very clearly in Quran as mentioned in this video.which do not include prayer. Covering up for prayers is a traditional practice not a Quranic instruction.

      Most worshippers from a variety of different faiths, including Hinduism, Sikhism, Christianity, and Judaism, traditionally cover their hair when praying or visiting a place of worship. Muslim men often cover their hair while praying as well; not just women. In most cultures around the world, covering the head is considered a sign of respect and it is a way for people to give respect to God. Otherwise, Allah (swt) knows exactly what we look like because He made us, but we don't pray in the nude. It is simply acknowledging His greatness in a way that many cultures have done since ancient times. That does not mean one does not respect Allah (swt) by not wearing it, or that not covering our hair outside of prayer makes us any less devoted to Him. After all, no one questions a Muslimah's piety when she does not cover her hair at home in front of her mahram. But the moment a non-mahram can see a Muslimah's hair, her piety comes into question. Why? Allah (swt) commands us to dress modestly, and it is possible to dress modestly without covering one's hair and it is equally possible to dress immodestly while covering one's hair. Our intentions must be in the right place. There is nothing wrong with a woman covering her hair if she so chooses. What is wrong is to insist that anyone who chooses not to is "misguided" or "absurd", or to imply or even explicitly state that a woman will burn in Jahannam for no other reason except that she did not cover her hair.

      +Sara Beg In Christian world, for example in my country Poland, a man has to take off his cap or hat when he enters the church. This is how shows respects. Women dont need to do it. They can wear hats in church or nothing but many years ago women had to cover their heads when they entered to the church. I think this is all the cultural thing. The Bosnian girls who are muslims dont usually wear hijab because they have different cutural codes. They are still European. Hair was something intimate in Arab culture before islam so is it really a Gods law or the cultural Arab thing? The Arab rules could have influence to the rules of islam? Am I right?

    I have heard westerners argue that it is the covering up of the womens bodies and womens visual absence in muslim countries that leads to pedophilia and sexual harrasment and rape of children and that that´s inevitable when womens bodies are cloaked and not broadcasted. A really oversimplified reasoning, which I would take as an insult if I where a man! Those weasterners should watch this video. With that said, I don´t think it should be required of women and girls to wear full body cloaks like tents if men and guys should be able to control themselves from committing rape or sexual harrasment! They are fully able to control themselves even if they happen to see something which is not normally apparent of womens bodies in the culture where they live! (Cause of wind, etc.) Only idiots say they are not. HA. Then again all western girls and women not wearing religiously mandated clothes are not dressing in bodyshape-revealing clothes eather! It is a very prejudiced picture, that the western people often send out about all western women! Same boring, picturing prejudice as that all muslim women wear headscarves!

  • @Anonymoussomeonenr1
    @Anonymoussomeonenr1 10 лет назад

    @Stefanie Nicholas Ok, you see the wearing of Hijab as the same as the wearing of a nuns habit; something that shows a lot of devotion when a woman chooses it! But this seems to be the problem for many people when they see the wearing of a Hijab- that they don´t see it as the wearing of a habit! I once told my biological mum that the Hijab and the nuns habit are actually both headscarves designed to cover up the womans hair! That you could call them both veils if you liked to call the covering of a womans hair veiling! But she disagreed, she didn´t thik the habit was a sort of veil, but she thought the Hijab was a sort of veil. I have heard (both from her and from many others) that they see the wearing of the Hijab as something atleast partly forced because of religious or cultural expectations. Whereas it´s normally not expected of women to become nuns or wear habits! The expectations from other muslims seems to be the reason that many can´t see muslim women wearing the Hijab out of a free choise, while they CAN see nuns wearing habits out of free choise, just like them becoming nuns and showing it out of their own choise! (many nuns today choose not to wear the habit while out in society.) But muslim girls born into Islam or convertig to Islam when they have married a muslim guy have not made that much of a choise of their own, like the nuns have, many people claim! I think that´s why many are sceptic to muslim girls and women claiming that they have chosen to cover their hair out of their own free will. (Offcourse the own free will of individuals CAN accord well with the expectations about relgious or cultural practices they are born into or converted to, when it comes to some things, so I see this is no valid argument.)

    Khurma is a head covering ?? Khimar / khomoorehenna The traditional meaning has always been a cover, NOT a head cover; however, the latest innovation in translation defines it as head cover. Khimar was intentionally MADE to mean “head cover” by scholars who wished to enforce their personal understandings which, ironically, contradict God in the Quran. They passed this corrupted meaning to one another, including the scholars who re-wrote the Arabic dictionaries. The word “khimar” comes from the root word khamara which means “to cover,” so anything that covers anything is a khimar. Wine in Arabic is called “khamra”, because it covers the brain and makes one lose his or her ability to think correctly. A curtain is a khimar because it covers a window, a tablecloth is a khimar because it covers a table, a dress is a khimar because it covers the body (any dress is considered a khimar; khimar is not limited to a head cover). A blanket can be used as a khimar, a shawl is a khimar, etc. Most of the translators, influenced by Hadith translate the word as VEIL and thus mislead most people to believe that this verse is advocating the covering of the head. In 24:31 God is asking the women to use their cover ‘khimar’ (being a dress, a coat, a shawl, a shirt, a blouse, a scarf etc.) to cover their chest / bosoms, not their heads or their hair. If God so willed to order the women to cover their heads or their hair, nothing would have prevented Him from doing so, but God did not order the women to cover their heads or their hair. The Arabic word for chest, “jaib” is in the verse (24:31), but the Arabic words for head, “raas” or hair, “shaar” are NOT in the verse. The last part of the verse (24:31) translates as, “They shall not strike their feet when they walk in order to shake and reveal certain details of their bodies.” The details of the body can be revealed or not revealed by the dress you wear, not by your head cover. Notice also the expression in 24:31, “They shall not reveal any parts of their bodies, except that which is necessary.”

      muhaned elnour Thats exactly what i say...but its like talking to a brick with some ^_^. The verse says "their khimar" which they even used to wear before Islam, So God said that the Khimar they wear, let them cover their bosoms with it. if God wanted women to cover the hair He would have ordered it clearly. I think if women want to cover their hair its not a problem as long as they don't say God ordered it, or being forced into wearing one. But its stupid, i don't see why women want to cover the hair in western countries since the klimaat is completely different than in a desert.

      Sandy Muller Not all Arab men are like what you have generalized onto. Yes it was and remains part of the Arab culture today. It is not part of the Islam. And yes the men's mentality is partly to blame but we all are very well aware that this issue (of men's mentality) is not unique to Muslims or Arabs.Similarly in the western world sexualization of women in the media is an ongoing and worsening problem. Men and women both are mutually responsible for this in the west. But not all western women and men are the same. Making sweeping general assessments and statements don't help any argument.

    The word 'hijab' appears seven times in the Quran. Five of them as 'hijab' and two times as 'hijaban', these are verses: 7:46, 33:53, 38:32, 41:5, 42:51, 17:45 & 19:17. None of these 'hijab' words are used in the Quran in reference to what the traditional Muslims call today 'hijab', that being the head cover for Muslim woman! The word 'hijab' in the Quran has nothing to do with the Muslim women's dress code. **everyone should know what is the dress code for ISLAM is not what bukhari or the imams ,or shia's..etc says !! the dress code is already been given by Allah in the previous Aya in quran : The Best Garment in (quran 7:26) allah said : وَ لاَ يُبْدِيْنَ زِيْنَتَهُنَّ إِلاَّ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَ لْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلىَ جُيُوْبِهِن “...and not display their beauty except what is apparent, and they should place their khumur over their bosoms...” Ask ur self what does allah says by this ??? Allah said : "O you who believe, when you rise to observe the Salat, you shall wash your faces and your arms to the elbows, and wipe your heads and your feet to the ankles." (quran 5:6) وَ لاَ يُبْدِيْنَ زِيْنَتَهُنَّ إِلاَّ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا " .... not to show their adornments except that of it which normally shows." What does allah means by , "What Normally shows",so what parts are they in ur body ??? in (Quran 24:31). Here God commands women not to reveal their adornments (beauty spots) except what is normally apparent (face, hair, lower arms and lower legs .. etc). the answer is Here ! (quran 5:6) Allah said : "O you who believe, when you rise to observe the Salat, you shall wash your faces and your arms to the elbows, and wipe your heads and your feet to the ankles." 1- Wash the face = it means you can show your Face 2- Wash the arms to the elbows = Arms and Elbows 3- Wipe the head= it means u can show your HEAD (hair,ears are included) 4- Wipe the feet to the ankles = your feet and Ankles can be exposed .. This is the Dress Code..All theses Parts can be exposed even in Prayers Rule : Lengthen your Garments "O prophet, tell your wives, your daughters and the wives of the believers that they shall lengthen their garments. This is better so that they will be recognized and not molested. God is Forgiver, Merciful." 33:59 When we reflect on the above words, we would understand the great wisdom of God. In this verse, God, deliberately said that women should lengthen their garments, but did not say how long is long. God could have said tell them to lengthen their garments to their ankles or to their mid-calf or to their knees, but He did not. God knows that we will be living in different communities and have different cultures and insists that the minor details of this dress code will be left for the people of every community to decide for themselves, as long as righteousness is always maintained.

      modlogman yea I think the question should be whether its the hair literally or just the symbol of having head covering being a spiritual honour of subjection to husband and the angels. This is worth reading, biblehub.com/commentaries/1_corinthians/11-10.htm

    Thank you for posting this video in this place where most of the hijab 'evidence' videos are about scholar's subjective views, excuses for not wearing hijab,pearl/lollipop analogies etc with verses without the proper context.

    In 24:31, God is asking the women to use their cover (khimaar, being a dress, a coat, a shawl, a shirt, a blouse, a tie, a scarf . . . etc.) to cover their bosoms, not their heads or their hair. If God willed to order the women to cover their heads or their hair, He would have simply said, "Cover your head and cover your hair” God is neither vague nor forgetful. God is precise [for example 4:11-12], God does not run out of words. He does not wait for scholars to put the correct words for Him!

    There are no authentic ahadeeth stating how women should be covered. Please read the comment section of the Hijab is Cultural part 1 to see all relevant ahadeeth on this issue. Head covering for prayers is also a tradition adopted from earlier cultures and religious practices particularly of Jews. You can easily find evidence for it online if you search for it that head covering was a common practice among other religious communities long before Islam came.

    I find all of this very interesting and i am trying to figure out if hijab is fard, that is how i came across this video. But i have a question, it doesn't say anywhere in the Quran about how women should dress during salat, so then why does everyone agree that the head should be covered when praying? Don't people follow the hadith for way of dressing and specifics of salat from hadith. Similarly, aren't there authentic hadiths stating how women should be covered ? Just curious/in a dilemma

    I do not feel this video is anti-hijab but that it's crazy to tell non-hijabi's they're lesser and bad muslimahs when there is much evidence of it not being a strict requirement. It's a personal choice and in the future if I want to be a full time hijabi I will! :D I see it in the same way I see a nun in habit - it's something that shows a lot of devotion when a woman chooses it, however, it does not make those who choose not to wear it doing something haraam!

  • @stefanievlog

    Agreed Chelsey! :) You're one of my fave convert Muslimahs on youtube and you inspire me so much in my journey Masha'Allah! I have no issue with choosing Hijab. I wear it for prayer because it feels right and good to submit myself purely to Allah. At the end of the day I see it as a CHOICE, not compulsion, not required. If you want to wear it, wear it beautiful! If not, do not!

  • @stefanievlog

    Ameen! I believe that hijabi's are BEAUTIFUL but only when it is a choice they have made without guilt for making another choice. I as a new revert love to wear a headscarf and modest dress to Masjid for prayer. It makes me feel like I am covering my body to submit myself to God as purely my heart and mind. HOWEVER, walking down the street in Canada, I do not feel I need to wear full hijab dress, Why would Allah (SWT) want us to reject swimming etc because of dress?!

    Asalaamu alykum sister! I'm a new revert and I want to educate myself all I can so people will not be saying such things to me! Insha'allah you will be treated well in the future!

    Masha'allah for this! I have NO issue with hijab or hijabis, I love wearing a headscarf and modest garb to pray, HOWEVER, I don't feel comfortable at least right now wearing full hijab all the time. I'm glad to see that it's not in fact mandatory.

    Thank you so much for your videos. You are the only person on youtube that actually believes it's not compulsory. All my life, I saw these women and my friends wearing hijab. I always knew inside that God would never force a women to wear something she did not want to wear. I think that some believers of Islam have been focusing too much on appearance and what's on the outside, rather than the goodness of the person on the inside. A woman has the right to wear it if and only if she wishes to.

    I wish people would actually start reading and understanding the quran on their own, instead of listening to people's preach. A lot of people say women who do not cover their hair are damned and yet, they actually say that based on what scholars say and scholars can say anything and people will accept. I find that sad, really, alot of non-muslims think muslim women are oppressed but the truth is, man-made rules are the one to blame.

    Huh, finally I some video of such kind! MashaAllah!) I have the same ideas, and I do not wear hijab, but in the eyes of other muslims I'm either non "practicing muslim", or, as I 'm a revert, I'm I person who "need to understand islam better". And also nice to see that there are other sisters who also have these views!)

    I actually enjoy your videos. Being a convert it was difficult for me to decide whether or not it was 100% at the end of the day, my only reason for not wearing hijab were simply physical. After I put my vanity aside, I found no reason to not wear it. I have asked many men how they react to different kinds of women and my results favored my choice to wear hijab. I believe it is a very personal journey that a Muslim woman must take herself to figure out.

    This video is NOT about evidence of Hijab for women. You have already seen my two videos about Hijab as a cultural practice and Hijab not being obligatory as it is clear from Quranic and historical evidence presented in them. Please see them again if you are not sure. Yes it is possible that the women from Khath'am tribe was already culturally covered. But this video is about the men's attitude towards women and modesty and their lack of respect and willingness to cleanse the neighbourhood.

    Continuing from my reply to your last comment... Please remember the verse 20 of Chapter 31, Sura Luqman, “Do ye not see that Allah has subjected to your (use) all things in the heavens and on earth, and has made his bounties flow to you in exceeding measure, (both) seen and unseen? Yet there are among men, those who dispute about Allah, without knowledge and without guidance, and without a Book to enlighten them!”

    Science has not reached its ultimate final stage where everything is now discovered about everything. There are discoveries made every day and some contradict the earlier finding. Hence in such situations we cannot rely wholly on science only. As believers, it is the word of our Creator we have to take as the ultimate truth for what is right for us.

    Vit B12 is mainly found in dairy and eggs and unless vegan diet is artificially supplemented in processing, a deficiency of Vit B12 is common among vegans. Food grown in soils low in iodine can lead to iodine deficiency. Best quality Omega 3 fatty acids and proteins are derived from animal sources especially fish.

    I am not sure what research you are referring to. Please also read about the benefits of a well balanced diet which includes dairy, egg and meat consumption in reputable scientific journals. This is not a platform to debate about vegan diet. But pure vegan diet is not the ideal life style either according to scientific research. Just to list few important things to consider that phytates in many whole-grains and fiber in many foods interfere with zinc, Iron and Vitamin C absorption.

    continuing my last comment...does this mean I am disobeying Allah's commands in the quran and/or refusing some of Allah's bounties and gifts to us on this earth?

  • @HijabulousTV
    @HijabulousTV 12 лет назад

    Okay so when I rationally reflect..There is no way I can reasonably justify the consumption of meat & dairy after having done extensive research on their effects on health. I have been forced to , be my rational faculties to see a vegan lifestyle as the best diet for man today given our circumstances ...for our health, the feeding of the hungry and the environment. I've always conflicted inside because of how the Quran states meat is okay but I don't understand how when science disagrees.

    At 4:25 , for argument sake, could it be that the woman was already covered, but in the manner Al Fadl "looked at her and she looked at him", perhaps it was this lingering "eye gazing" that concerned the Prophet PBUH? They both therefore violated the command to lower their gazes. So I agree the point was to make him practice looking away, but it doesn't provide evidence that the woman in the hadith didn't wear "hijab".it would help to identify what the Khath'am tribe people were like.

  • @HijabulousTV

    I have to say that according to 8:02, yes these conditions present among us today! I mean women are still being molested right and left and people definitely haven't stopped "stirring up sedition".
