Great buck. I feel like ya'll were very lucky to get him after waiting so long to shoot. He seemed very skittish the whole time. Glad it worked out... I'd definitely be happy with that one.

Don’t beat y’all’s selves up about that hunt, it’s a big learning curve hunting divers on the gulf if you grew up hunting puddle ducks.

I know this is a year old but when people talk about Florida deer, they seem a bit dismissive because of their size Whitetail deer in North Florida or skittish and tough to hunt at times because of the landscape the thickness of the brush. So in some ways more challenging than other places. That was a fine dear good job I live in Northwest Florida, And I hunt public land and it’s pretty tough at times but you can’t explain to someone who has never done it the rush of adrenaline and emotion. When you see that rat come through the woods and you contain yourself long enough to get a good clean shot.

Congrats on your first mottled, I got my first one this year in Louisiana. Wish we had them in the panhandle.

Great video. Can’t wait to get my first mottled duck. I drew an STA quota and got there the night before, so I understand since they are known for their great duck hunting. However, it seems ridiculous now that a regular boat ramp is starting to get that type of preparation. The WMAs are getting worse too. Is what it is I guess. Get some more next season!
