Making a comic about loneliness & why we should talk about it more
Hello there! Welcome back to the tiny art room, I'm still trying lots of things out so this video is about a shorter comic but I talk a bit more about the meaning behind it, I hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think!
I've been trying to get the lighting right for my videos but I'm still often filming too dark and can only do so much in editing, I'm working on it!
I hope to keep improving with each video so comments, suggestions, questions, advice are all welcome, thankyou! I'm planning on maybe some videos talking about specific topics, anything you'd like advice on/to know about please let me know.

Hello there and welcome back to the tiny art room I apologise it's taken me so long to post a new video. Hello there, thankyou for your support on my first video, this second one is more of a vlog format so let me know what you think, I couldn't manage to make weekly vlogs all the time but are vlogs in general of interest? I hope these videos might bring people some comfort or inspiration to make art, I hope it might help you in some way. It's still quite gloomy and dark in the shots and I do hope...

(I apologise the video is out of focus and badly lit at the start but it does improve!) Hello there, this is my first attempt at a youtube video so I do apologise it's a little rough but I wanted to start somewhere, it's quite funny how I mentioned refilming some of these clips because I'd rambled on a lot the day before when this is still 23 minutes long, I appreciate it's a pretty long first ...
great video and i totally love the idea!
Thankyou! :)
Another great insightful video and a good help to many people out there going through the same experience. Great zine too. Look forward to the next one ❤
Thankyou so much :)
My time at Uni was similar and it's something I carried with me into adulthood. Thnx for talking about it!
It's definitely something I carried with me for a long time too, no worries thankyou for watching :)
I loved it! Lately I feel stuck and maybe write a comic about it would help. I'll give it a go. Thanks for the inspo. Autistic person over here says hi :)
Thankyou so much I'm glad it might have inspired you, that's great to hear! Hi :)

It’ll be super cool to look back on this and see how much you’ve improved and the characters have developed. ❤
I hope so! :)
Great video again. A serial comic sounds great giving the incentive to keep going. Artwork fabulous as always. 😊
Thankyou so much :)
your vibes are soo perfect!! and i love your style!! i'd lovee to buy some of your art and support you one day
Thankyou so much! :)
The accent is so classy wth😅
This is the first time i found you,and i love everything you make and how you show it to the world! Im looking forward for more videos to watch and listen to while animating^_^
Thankyou so much I really appreciate it, glad you enjoyed! :)
I feel you so much when it comes to ideas vs actually doing the thing, haha. I feel like, especially if you have a vivid imagination, the picture of something in your mind is so powerful and clear that taking that image into reality is such a struggle. (This was my biggest struggle around finally starting to make videos, and I'm still struggling now! So it was really great to hear your thoughts.) Sometimes not planning something out entirely before starting it is scary, but a lot of the times I find it helps to just go with the flow. I try to lean into restraints/loose sketches and ideas more than concrete outlines, but there's something so nice about knowing exactly how everything should go haha. Proud of you for working through doubt! I'm excited to see how the rest of Toast in the Machine goes!
It's great to hear you related, yeah it can be tough to just go with it and start but often if you wait too long the idea just never happens! Thankyou so much thankyou for your comment! :)
I love your art style! Also your voice is super relaxing to listen to while drawing)
Thankyou so much! I'm glad to hear that :)
I don’t think this is an actual problem for most women.
Ah it's great to see a new video from you. I was only thinking the other day if you had a video out
Thankyou! Glad you enjoy them :)
I love your videos! I'd like to make a comic one day. :)
Thankyou so much! I hope you do :)
wow
I enjoyed seeing the process and your adventure in the real world. Looking forward to the next comic and video.
Thanks so much! :)
Thank you for sharing yet again your art and innermost thoughts. Your art and whats behind it is amazing. Your talent goes in hand with your beautiful soul. You are following the path that is meant for you. Bless you
Thankyou so much :) 🧡
you are so cool
looove your art style !
I'm painting as I go through lung cancer. I'm working to keep my insurance to pay for treatment. Thank you for acknowledging the systems are broken.
I hope you will be better soon and your treatment goes well. It's awful you have to work at such a challenging time to afford it, healthcare is a human right.
:o so cool you draw on the back of the 8 page zines i've never seen that before
I wonder why more people don't do it, I guess if you're making just one on paper the paper can be too thin and it would bleed through so that's why it's avoided a lot! And thanks! :)
This is a fantastic first video! I've been thinking about starting an art RUclips channel for YEARS now, and I regret not doing it before, so yep, I agree, you just gotta start no matter what, you'll eventually improve over time. About the fox not looking like himself in all panels... I actually think he does? Maybe the snout is a bit shorter in the full page panel, but I wouldn't have paid any attention to it if you didn't mention it. Not all panels have to be perfect yadda yadda, comics is a form of story telling. As long as it's readable and you people can understand what's happening, it's enough. And like you said, not overthinking is the right mindset to just put stuff out.
Thankyou so much! Yeah it's one of those things that's so tough to start isn't it but there may never be a day where you feel fully 'ready.' I hope you start your own! That's good to hear, I think it's so easy to overthink it when you've created it but it's something other viewers probably wouldn't even notice, and yeah readability and understanding is much more important that's a really good point. Thanks for your comment :)
It's been a few days since RUclips started recommending me art videos from new creators, and somehow it KEEPS getting better and better. I loved this! From your accent, to your little room, to your art style and what you have to say. Everything is great. You got yourself a new subscriber! And yep, good point about making something in the back of those zines, so much wasted space wtf, your poster turned out really cool.
I really enjoyed your video and I hope you continue to make art that speaks to issues because art creates culture.
i loved this video! so comforting and really motivated to work on my own projects :)
Thankyou so much! Glad to hear it :)
Thanks for sharing! Your zine is so special, and discussing mental health and disabilities is very important. I relate to your thought processes as you were speaking them out loud, being pulled in lots of directions at once ✨
Thankyou so much! I'm glad to hear you related to it :)
ah, I’ve not thought about zines in some time. I’m so glad this video popped up in my recommended feed :) thanks for sharing your art! the zine is beautiful, and so is the comic you shared. excuse me while I go watch like, all your other videos.
Absolute yes to scruffy art summer, I'm going to have one of those too.
What an awesome video! I’ve wanted to print zines myself for quite sometime but I’m not entirely certain where to start. It’s so cool that you share the process and behind the scenes stuff with us, thank you for that! This channel is a treasure for artists like myself and many others who love just love art and expression Also great editing! Your videos look great and flow perfectly.

Zines are so great aren't they! Thankyou so much that's great to hear I really appreciate it! :)
I loved your art and your cactus 💜
Thankyou! :)
I find it easier to express my feelings through drawings rather than words, so I'm really glad I found your video, it really feels like home here, where everything is so calm and peaceful, thank you for sharing your art with the world! c: and I also just wanted to wish anybody who reads this a good day :3
Yes exactly I really understand that, thankyou so much I'm really glad to hear that :)
What a beautiful zine and beautiful art style! And this made me remember using a lightbox and often struggling with how it changed the appearance of contrast and lines... I love your art corner, the wall full of art, and loved listening to your thoughts while sketching.
Thankyou so much! Yes it can be a bit challenging, I find I have to have the room quite dark as well which can be a bit gloomy! That's great to hear thankyou :)
This was such a lovely video, it's nice seeing someone's brain work the same as mine too! You sent me down a hole cozy rabbit hole of watching people draw things and it got me to draw so thank you for that!
That's so lovely to hear thankyou so much, glad it got you drawing! :)
How did I miss that you started RUclips 🎉🥳 the fox looks very distinguished
Thankyou so much! :)🦊
Came over from TikTok and am happy I did 😊. Feel inspired to restart my zine project and I Looove the idea of a “scruffy art summer”, I may take that and run with it myself. Also, the video angles for the process were great, no complaints!
Thankyou so much! That's great to hear, yes definitely let's all join scruffy art summer! Thankyou for the feedback, maybe they weren't as bad as I thought! Appreciate it :)

Three videos and 240 subs girls yesss look at you! On fireeee
Also what camera do you film on it looks awesome :)
@@aphrodites.clamshell thankyou! :) It's actually my Nikon D5300 DSLR I usually use it for photography, I love the picture quality but it's quite bulky for vlogging!
This video is so cozy
That's good to hear, thankyou :)

Wonderful (first) video! Thank you for showing the process & the pretty zine. ❤️ I'm going to a (comics) zine workshop over the weekend and prepping to do my first zine. This gave me so many ideas. Omg, Sylvanian families! Love them! Your zine's art style is just like a SF story would look in my head. What a great connection. 😀
Thankyou so much I'm glad you enjoyed it, that's so great I really hope you enjoy the workshop! That's so interesting I never thought of that, I love animal characters so it makes sense! :)
