I created this channel to share my cards and connect with other vintage baseball card collectors. As the name suggests, my collection is focused on Dodgers cards.

What is a rookie card in prewar cards is a challenging question. Not as simple when I was a kid and we thought of first Topps, Fleer, Donruss, or for older cards Bowman to be first the rookie. (Realized after recording I misspoke in this about now first Topps card being rookie - I meant first major big league issue). Anyway, Aaron @Valuevintagecards-Aaron just did a great video on this question...

Hi Mark. Awesome cards and great looking set. I agree with you on the color, images and design as well as the incredible number of super players in the set makes it one of the best Topps set of the 1950s. I would also offer that it is the first Topps set showing the Dodgers in their new LA uniforms.

Wow! I have a partial 58 set put together. It is my 10 year goal to get tgis one done. I am getting them raw and adding to a binder. Also building the 1960 set . . . and all the 70s sets, lol. It is difficult to stay focused. I actually like to bounce around so that it doesn't become frustrating. Very awesome cards!!
That's awesome. Good luck with the set builds. This one took me 35 years so 10 years doesn't seem too long to me ;) I also bounce around a bunch between building my Dodgers team sets and picking up other items. Have fun with it!
Whoa, the Grimes RC is nuts... I really like that Greenberg 1935 back card, that's very cool! I always like the off-the-grid options like that, especially earlier stuff and RCs. That's a great find!
A friend in a FB group clued me into the Greenberg and I got one right away. Very affordable second year card - I actually like this one better than the one where he's featured on the front. Thanks a lot!

So incredible! What’s even more remarkable is that you started this set as a kid. That Spahn pops so much and love the Maris and my boy Banks. They’re all exceptional. My favorite is the Mantle/Aaron…I have a couple (one I need to send off to grade) and it’s one of my favorite cards. Outstanding stuff man 👊🏻⚾️
Thanks! It's definitely been a passion project over the years. Its the only vintage set I've put together. Good luck with the grading. Not sure if you use PSA or SGS, but to me, they really pop in the SGC cases. Happy collecting!

I agree, that Colavito is a terrific card! Those All-Star cards are awesome, I agree! I like GMA cards. The Maris rookie is sweet! Of course, I love seeing the Gil Hodges!

Totally great n awesome Mark! You're right about the colors. The AS cards are a fabulous subset set. I only have 3 cards, the Mantle AS, Musial AS, n Williams/Klu card. Nice job. Have a great weekend buddy.

Really love the 58 set. The colors in the 58 set are some of the best for sets from the 50s to 60s. Your Maris RC and Batting foes are great cards! Very hard to find those cards with good registration and centering. Your Maris I think it was worth overpaying for. Thank you for sharing.

Every one of us who was rooting for the Dodgers in that fateful game will have the scene forever etched in memory. Congratulations! $40 was hefty admission for that Series. In the 2020s, it probably wouldn't get you through the door. The Dazzy rookie brings back memories of my Brooklyn fan dad.

I agree Flood should be in the Hall of Fame. They probably told you the Wynn was trimmed because they were getting a lot of that card for grading and decided to do pop control. Same with the Mays/Snider combo

Awesome cards, Mark. It is a great looking set. I love the Maris, Pinson, and Flood rookies. The Mantle and Aaron combo card is amazing as well. I need to start picking some of these up! But there are so many on my list!

Thanks! I thought the Mets would sweep them in the NLCS. It was a miracle they made it to the world series. I think the 1988 Dodgers may be the worst team ever to win the world series!

Thanks - yeah - I feel for Eck but its really cool that he's come to terms with it. He's an all time great and even though this is probably one of the things he'll be most remembered for, he had an amazing career. He was very gracious in signing it.
