The Ultimate 3D Printed Cable Management Solution: Underware
In today's vlog, I'm sharing my first dive into the world of 3D printing. I've always loved creating things-videos, photos, and now 3d prints. I'm brand new to 3D printing, but after falling down the RUclips and Reddit rabbit holes (and losing a bit of sleep), I found the perfect first project: a cable management system!

I Tried Vlogging For The First Time (Great For Beginners)

After 4 years of starting my creative journey, I finally got my dream lens: Canon RF 15-35mm f2.8. For me, this is the perfect setup for content creation. I'm not taking this off my camera body anytime soon. I tried vlogging for the first time and had a lot of fun. My biggest lesson here was the importance of having a plan BEFORE making the video. This was definitely harder than expected.

Taking that first step is a scary thing to do. I've been overthinking for the past 3 years about starting my RUclips channel but I've decided to commit to this adventure and finally start. This is my first video in my RUclips journey. Thank you for being here. See you in the next one.

Quick tip. If your going to make a video about cable management. Do it all it one video. This video should be tiltled. I have a problem making a full video.

Not a fan of 8 minutes of fluff for 1 minute of meaningful content. For people like me, you should just put the actual content up front. Show the thing you're making and how it improved your setup and then consider all of the fluff. If I have to scrub through your video to find the actual product, I'm unlikely to come back for more. Also, if you're just showing off someone else's stuff, maybe put the name of that stuff in the title of the video so I know what I'm actually getting into? Imagine I'm considering various cable mgmt solutions and I want to see someone's experience with Underware, I legit cannot find your video with YT search. Title of this video should be more like: "Underware cable management is awesome! I'll show you how to set it up" It's crazy that even small channels now are doing this BS with video titles as clickbait. Bro, no thumbnail with your O-face?
Hey Josh! thanks for your feedback man. I'll keep that in mind for future videos. You got a good point there on the video title. I'm going to include the Underware name on it, thank you. Also, this wasn't supposed to be an underware tutorial but more of a vlog sharing my experience with my new 3d printer and solving a problem that I have now. Haha double sided tape it's slightly better than what I had. I'm documenting all the progress and I'll be showing the final result soon on a different video. But all I can say is that it's really cool

@ did you under or over expose at all? I’ve heard conflicting opinions.
@@DanKurta in this particular case there was plenty of natural light and I just used auto settings from the camera app. However, in more challenging light conditions the footage will start losing quality especially in the shadows. The best way to make iPhone footage look good is to have good light and slightly over expose without blowing highlights

Man this seems like a really awesome video but when I tell you I’m trying hear you over the music believe me. I stuck it out, but man I’m not sure when this became a thing but I would like to just get the information without the music and if that’s not your style could you maybe turn it down so it’s not competing with the audio.

If I could give you any advice it would be: Don't overcook it. Define what's good for you. When you reach 80% of what's good. Post it. You will have infinite chances to get better in the next one. But getting out the first video it's probably the hardest part.

What I've learned about starting my channel last year... and to my biggest surprise... is that your friends/family/coworkers will NOT care. Like, at all. (which was a big fear for me) ...so just do it!!

How’s the overall weight? I would love if canon had a 2.8 or faster lens with less weight and smaller size
It's definitely heavier than I expected it to be but I love the feel and the focal range it's perfect for what I do. I've been using it to shoot handheld paired with my r6 mk II and it is not too bad. A good alternative that's also 2.8 is the RF 28-70mm that they released not too long ago and it's also cheaper (around $1k). I haven't tried it yet though but it's probably worth trying. All of the non L-line prime lenses are good for their value and they are fast enough. Do you mainly shoot photo or video?
@@joaquin-filmsmainly video, I catch myself now wanting gear that is compact and outputs clean 4K footage at least. Currently, own the R5 with the 16-35 f2.8 II and the times I’m am out and about there’s not way to be discreet and end up not being as much in front of the camera as I would like to (camera shy)
Fair. Yeah the 15-35 it's about the same size as the 16-35 + the RF adapter so it won't make a difference. You should try the 16mm f2.8 prime. It's pretty compact and it produces good quality video. You would sacrifice some versatility by going with a prime but you can always carry your zoom in your bag for b-roll or in case you need it. the 28-70 I mentioned it's probably not wide enough for that purpose
