Long distance hiking in La Palma, Canary Islands
Montage of our hikes from our trip to La Palma in the Canary Islands. We did a volcano hike which was a very surreal landscape and we also did a few coastal hikes. We spent lots of time in the sea and enjoyed star gazing.

We spent a week in Mallorca/Majorca. It was paradise! We stayed in Port de Soller which was incredible for swimming in the bay and not touristy. We hiked through the Tramuntana mountains, exploring lots of olive groves and farmland. This is a montage of our weekend away for our six year anniversary. We enjoyed a 21 mile coastal hike on the Saxon Shore Way down to Dover and we also spent a day walking around Sandwich, immersed in the architecture of ancient England. There’s lots to see in Sandwich if you like old buildings and history.

We had a fantastic time in CHAMONIX, France and will definitely be back to visit. The hikes were amazing. This hike was 1400 meters descent over boulders for 7 hours. 11.5 miles distance. We also had a day trip to Aosta, Italy earlier in the week which was beautiful and full of roman ruins.

This is video footage from our first two days in Tenerife. We had a nice architecture walk around San Cristóbal de La Laguna looking at the buildings and went to the botanical gardens in Santa Cruz. The following day we did a big hike on the PR-TF 10 trail. (Cruz del Carmen to Punta del Hidalgo) - It took about five hours :) It was great fun. Bring lots of water!

Hi Leeanna and Tom. What a beautiful island to go walking on. It's a really great video too. Especially the waves crashing on the rocky beach. I like how wherever you go in the world chickens always talk the same language.
Hehe I loved the chickens. They were really friendly :) The volcano scenery is really interesting and a different type of landscape to go hiking in.

how did you get from mayrhofen train station to start of this Schlegeisspeicher trail? walking or taxi? Thank you!
Hi, we took the bus from Mayrhofen train station and it went in to a car park where the start of the trail is. It is a great hike and 100 percent worth doing. Tom thinks it was the 4102 bus. :)

The name of the church is Sveti Juraj (Sveti Đorđe) / ...remember the icon St George Kills a Dragon ... this is a one of the main GLORY DAY of ORTODOX SERBS/... Anyway, The Church of Saint George was built by Di Lorenzo. On the door frame it is written: "Di Lorenzo built this church of St. George for his wife Maria in 1559". One photo of the interior of the church shows the remains of frescoes, edged in Byzantine blue. It is intriguing, since, as far as I know, it is a characteristic of Orthodox churches that the interior is painted with frescoes. Maybe Di Lorenzo was Italian (Catholic), and his wife was Maria (Orthodox,), SO THAT'S WHY THE CHURCH IS ORTHODOX IN FORM, BECAUSE HE DEDICATED THE CHURCH TO HER... There is also an island in the bay that was called St. George, and now it is called St. Đorđe .... St. Đorđe, St. Đurađ, or St. George .... Juraj ___ĐURAĐ ___ĐORĐE___"J" becomes "Đ".....

beware of wolves? Are there wolves during this hike?
Yes, you have to be careful but most are scared of humans. We didn’t see any during the day but we did see what looked like their den and signs saying beware they are in the area. Like any hike we do, there are always dangers such as in Austria, we recently got chased by a loose bull when we were hiking in the mountains. It’s fun to hike, just have to know what is in the area to keep safe. :)

Also very easy to get to and from the airport as they have a shuttle bus thing. It was an Airbnb apartment.
