I think this is a non sequitur. Teaching the gospel and allowing a culture to express itself aren’t mutually exclusive? This only makes sense if the gospel message is being compromised in some way as a result. Otherwise, what has been the chief export of western culture in the last decades? LGBT, transgenderism, racial obsession? We aren’t exactly impressing these days.

He mentions two in John and I can assume one may be in John 20 when Christ reveals himself to Thomas but I do not find anything about speaking to priests for the forgiveness of sins in the kjv texts. In 1 John 2:1 KJV - My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: He is the only mediator and high priest between God and man. You can go to James 5 where it talks about laying on of hands and confessing faults one to another but the main focus there is verve 15 the LORD shall raise him up.

I’m glad this video popped up on my feed. As someone who is a Protestant looking seriously into Catholicism, I have serious concerns about Pope Francis. Catholics are constantly having to nuance his words to get him out of the realm of error or plain heresy. I know a bad pope doesn’t disprove Catholicism, but how is this guy so off base so often? It makes me wonder if I can trust the people who elected this guy to be the head of the church. And when do they finally come out and say he was wrong instead of constantly explaining away it as unclear. It feels dishonest and that the pope actually does say what he means. He’s a liberal and doesn’t believe Christ is the only way. How does one submit to this?
