Yellow or Orange Light: This often indicates a less urgent problem, like low tire pressure or an issue with the emissions system. You ca...

    I have that exact same manual and I can tell you that for most of those lights the book pretty much just says "take it to the dealer or a certified technician". The only thing I did with it was look at the maintenance schedule then I never opened it again, the cars take care of themselves if you take care of the maintenance items. Not trying to hate on this video but the manuals only tell you what the manufacturer wants you to know as a consumer

    • @GirlieGarage
      @GirlieGarage 14 дней назад

      Weird, I actually found 2 different places in this manual that were helpful in describing what the different lights meant. I think overall, it’s at least good to know what each icon means so you know if it’s an immediate emergency or something that can wait until tomorrow. You are correct that a lot of our newer vehicles want to be “taken to the dealership” when something pops up, but if you know what that something is, usually you can ask the internet what your options are 😎

    Nice work! To get the rotor screws off, i put spacers and washers on the two bolts nearby and then tightened the lug nuts down on them. This helps relieve some of the pressure off the screws. I used a ball peen hammer to hit the screws. It dented them in somewhat. Then i took the impact screwdriver bit that was a phillips with a flattened off tip and hammered it into the screw and it stuck in there. Then used a needle nose vise grip wrench to clamp down on the bit. Then by hand turned slowly and eventually got the screw to move and come out.

    • @GirlieGarage
      @GirlieGarage 14 дней назад

      Definitely winning some creative brownie points! I own multiple impact screwdrivers because they are pretty inexpensive (less than $15 at the auto parts store) and I have forgotten to bring it with me to a brake job before. At least you were able to finish the job! That’s what counts!

      @GirlieGarage you also don't have to remove the rear bracket from the alternator. Only from the engine block. I didn't touch the hidden bolt until the alternator was out of the engine bay then I swapped it over and pushed it all back in. Also, my new reman. Yota Alt had the small bracket for the wire loom already installed. Just finished my install and used this video for all my information to do it.!!

    Great video. Next time I would put some anti-galling(anti-seize) compound on the rotor retaining screw instead of Loc-tite. The retaining screw is only there to keep the rotor in place until you put the wheel on. Once the wheel is installed the clamping force of the wheel against the hub holds the rotors on. By putting anti-galling compound on the screws instead of Loc-tite, it will allow you to remove the screws next time without an impact driver. I do this on all my Civics (EK, EJ, FA5). It makes pad and rotor changes a breeze. Hope this helps you next time.

      I appreciate you sharing what works for you. I have had that screw fall out in the past and when it does my rotors turn into “floating” rotors which means they wander around and make noise when they don’t need to be. I’ve never had a problem getting them out with my impact screwdriver and a baby 4lb sledge. I do appreciate the differing opinions because you never know when this info will help someone else along the way. Thank you for taking the time!
