The Batman - Why We Need Heroes And More Films Like The Batman
The Batman has got to be one of the greatest comic book movies I have seen in a long time. The last really great comic book movie I saw where I said, "damn that was a masterpiece" was probably Logan. I think Matt Reeves really understands and cares about this character and his lore. I've been a Batman fan ever since I was really little and this to me, is the best live action adaptation of the Batman that we have ever gotten. It has the perfect cats, the perfect, Gotham, and now the best Batman. Robert Pattinson really blew me away and I think the themes and ideas in this film work so well and I am glad to see a balance between a more vengeful Batman and an inspiring Batman. I'm so excited...

Spider Man: No Way Home Is -(Kinda)- Frustrating But Still Amazing

Now before you comment down below, hear me out. I didn't think No Way Home was the best Spiderman movie, I felt the humor and pacing was really off in this movie and stuff like that could have been handled better. I also don't hate this movie, it was a damn good movie and a love letter to generations of Spider-Man fans. Tom Holland's Spider-Man finally grows, we get to see Tobey and Andrew inte...
Why People Don't Understand Superman And The Problem With Modern Comic Book Media

Hey, how doing. So I've been wanting to make this video for a while now, but unfortunately I rewrote it several times and felt as though it was incomplete. But I think I said what I needed to say. I know Zack Snyder's Superman has been talked about to death but I wanted to get my opinions out there and instead of critiquing just his Superman, I wanted to talk about Superman in all types of medi...
One Marvelous Scene - Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head (Video Essay)

Today we are taking a look back at Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2. The scene raindrops keeping on my head is the best scene in any comic book film ever made in my opinion. This scene perfectly showcases great filmmaking techniques but also how to fit a goofy scene like this in a superhero movie. Spider-Man 2 is now my favorite comic book movie of all time, it used to be my second favorite next to The...

    Everyone’s doing deconstructions of Superman to the point where it would actually be more subversive to have Superman be a genuinely kind person who actually wants to help people. Though the DCEU’s employment of Zack Snyder is one of the reasons why I wondered if DC ever had any intention of making their cinematic universe work or if this was some kind of elaborate The Producers-style scheme all along. Because first, they hire Zack Snyder, a raging Objectivist who has openly expressed contempt for idealistic heroes on numerous occasions, to direct a film about the most idealistic hero of them all. But okay, that movie has its defenders. I’m not one of them but still. Then he does Batman v. Superman and in doing so, manages to take an inherently cool concept and screw up so badly that it crosses the line into “HOW?! How did you screw up this badly?!” Credit where credit is due: this is proof that Zack Snyder has some talent as a director, because a screwup on this level takes more than mere incompetence to happen. But even after Snyder screwed up that badly, DC was still like, “Let’s bring him back to do our big team-up picture.”

    I’m definitely not as knowledgeable as you on the topic of superman. But as a human I think injustice makes sense. We’ve seen fathers kill their family’s murders before. And we’ve seen how Batman dealt with having superman’s powers. So the twist to make superman a dictator worked. Even as a dictator he strived to do what’s right.

  • @dreyri2736
    @dreyri2736 21 день назад

    It's very easy to just say "he does the right thing every single time" but it is effectively meaningless because superman does not exist. In reality, he does whatever the fallible human writers want him to do every single time.

    • @abelito6031
      @abelito6031 12 дней назад

    • @dreyri2736
      @dreyri2736 12 дней назад

      @abelito6031 not at all, because not all fictional characters are infallible gods. The limitations with writing such characters is that the people who write them are infallible mortals who have a hard time deciding what they should have for dinner.

    Superman hasn't really been portrayed correctly for the most part since Christopher Reeve or the 90s animated and live action series. The only two recent actors that have portrayed him correctly I feel have been Tyler Hoechlin and Tom Welling. Superman stands for truth, justice and the american way or better tomorrow. No other actor has brought that except Tyler Hoechlin and Tom Welling. So I hope David Corensweat will be the next one. Superman has been dark, yes. But he's a better character when he's more bright and joyful, which separates him from Batman. Superman was not all that different from Batman in the DCEU. So I hope that changes in the upcoming DCU.

    I don’t much like the sequels, but u we’re a little unfair with the pilot points, anakin built his own pod racer and was a slave to a guy who solos ship parts, he was obviously smart for his age and would of had access to learn from the customers, Rey scavenged big ships, and it’s likely she would of learned in some capacity how to fix things, showing up Han Solo was going too far, I just don’t like seeing people be unreasonable about something cause it’s bad for other reasons, like Rey using the force with no training was complete bull

    Even Batman is not so great when he's always too dark, for a while in the comics he became too much of an asshole to the point he was unlikable. Which is why Batman Animated Series was so great because he was a well balanced out character who could smile, laugh, make jokes, give thumbs up, compassionate, empathetic, caring, but still can be dark and brutal. DCAMU, 2004, Brave And The Bold, and Under The Red Hood are all good Batmans as well.

    • @warlord8106
      @warlord8106 3 месяца назад

      I used to love both characters, but Dragon Ball Super has made me genuinely despise Goku as an utterly loathsome self-serving sociopath completely apathetic to any and all harm his actions bring to others. Superman is a better husband who has actually kissed his wife and a father who was present for his son's birth and remembers his birthday in addition for possessing the emotional capacity and maturity to actually CARE about others. Goku has canonically NEVER kissed his wife as confirmed in the Super manga when asking Vegeta what a kiss is and had to have it explained to him because he and Chi-Chi never kissed once despite being married for years and having two sons (which raises darkly disturbing questions regarded informed consent within their marriage), wasn't present for Goten's birth (fair because he was conceived ~the 10 day waiting period leading up to the Cell Games), but he confirmed that he ALSO wasn't present for Gohan's birth, either despite having been alive and well during peace time while he and Chi-Chi were living alone after they married after his fight with Piccolo Jr. after the end of that World Martial Arts tournament and Gohan was around 4 years old by the time he reunited with his friends at Kame House in Chapter 1 of Dragon Ball Z meaning he had NO valid excuse for that one and also doesn't know either of their birthdays in addition to him revealing upon Bulma going into labor with Bulla that he has no idea as to how babies are born, either (which again brings us back to the disturbing question of informed consent regarding he and Chi-Chi's prior reproductive activities), then there was the Tournament of Power which he didn't know about despite Beerus literally threatening to erase him from existence if he reminded Zeno, did it anyway and was told that all of the losing Universes would be erased from existence and he didn't feel the slightest shred of remorse or concern when Bergamo was (justifiably) outraged after he just gleefully gloated that he was "Gonna beat y'all!" showing his utter lack of regard for the lives of others as long as his stupid monkey brain could get some punch-punch action before the writers had to retcon the ToP always having been the plan before he reminded Zeno and supposedly gave the other Universes a 'fighting chance' as a weak attempt to justify his selfish amorality because Akira Toriyama was just THAT pressed about him being portrayed as 'heroic' in any capacity (despite he, himself having written Goku as going out to collect the seven Dragon Balls solely to revive Bora, Upa's father after he was murdered by Tao Pai Pai despite having known them for less than a day) because he has a 'poison' inside of him and has never been deliberately morally upstanding or altruistic with that purely being a byproduct of him selfishly trying to get whatever HE wants.

      Honestly, Goku feels like a more realistic lawful good entity. They're imperfect, they can have issues, they can struggle and they can even lose - but regardless of their faults, they can still succeed, repair and inspire hope. Superman is that but idolized, being purely perfect without the struggle. This is still a more general angle but still, Superman and Goku are characters that do share the capacity to inspire hope in people.

    • @warlord8106
      @warlord8106 26 дней назад

      @@CottonArsonist Except goku continues to remain childish and make the same mistakes over and over again and never learn from them. He also makes selfish, thoughtless, wreckless descisions like putting a bounty on his head, coaxing gohan to fight cell reluctantly aswell as giving cell a sensu bean just so he can give gohan a beating that would push gohan to fight cell. And ofcourse there is the multiverse tournament The problem with goku is he is a childish character whose life solely revolves around his own indulgences, he is largely detached from the issues of others and whenever problems arise he knows he can rely on the dragonballs to fix all the problems, hence why every loss never has much of an impact on him. When people die, his nonchalant. Superman does not have the luxuries goku has, his job is alot harder, goku never had someone ask him to help their father who was dying from cancer in a hospital. Then only to arrive and find that person is dead too late and try and comfort their family. Superman has had to go through those things of trying to make up after letting people down. whereas goku always has had the safety net of the dragonballs to fix his problems, hence his lack of maturity

    I think what you’re missing is that injustice didn’t do it “wrong” it’s just a what if scenario or a different adaptation. Not every Superman adaptation is going to stay true to the traditional character. It’s okay to see Superman as dark and gritty. I think a lot of these hardcore fans are just upset with a different adaptation of their favorite character.

    I liked that Zack's Superman was more realistic, Krypton was a believable planet. I liked that they changed the suit, but would have liked they lighter blue to stay. When Superman is hit by bullets, or has a car bounce off his back, you see his head or body move with the impact, which is something that almost never happened before. I loved Man Of Steel, i just wish they had, or had not done a few things.
